Is there a storage unit in a particular place that would be useful for keeping some extra stuff before i set sail? The keep is my stronghold but i don't want things dissapearing in the manner in which i lost items after clearing the keep. The CC doesn't seem like a safe place role-playing wise.

I've always been partial to the derelict house in the Slums district. I think that containers in most non-occupied places in the city are safe.

The barrel by the entrance to the Bridge District is my favourite storage space. Mostly because it lies within a few feet from where you always enter the Bridge District, making it one of the most easily accessible containers.

And yes, it is completely safe. The Bridge District area is never updated at any point in the game, so nothing you place in the barrel will ever disappear.

I usually keep all my stuff in my keep....usually works fine =/

Thanks!

Don't worry about your keep container being cleaned out again. Most strongholds get cleaned out because the maps change once you gain them. The two I know this not to be the case are the temples, the paladin stronghold, and the druid grove. Because they couldn't even have the courtesy to give the druids even a teensy little pool of water to keep their things in.

I usually stash my things in Copper Coronet.

I like to use Cernd's former home in Waukeens Promenade...

Not likely. The store changes in chapter 6, but I don't know if that'll affect the rest of the place. It probably does.

I believe just opening a container in the store will cause everyone to go hostile.

Illumina Drathiran'ar 01-20-2004 05:19 PM

Bill and Lord are both wrong, I believe. The store doesn't change... you just get a new dialogue option from Ribald which accesses a different merchant. The map itself doesn't change.

And maybe a few containers will make people go hostile, but I've rooted through them before. Perhaps only a few of them cause people to go hostile, as I've seen glaring discrepencies like that before (Read: Temple of Lathander. Even when you're a bloody CLERIC there. Drives me mad.)

No matter which Stronghold I've got, I always use the front room of Renal Bloodscalp's Guildhall as my base. It's near a District Exit, a short walk from Cromwell's, convenient access to an Inn and 2 or 3 Merchants.....and the STORAGE!

Bookcase 1: Red scrolls.
Bookcase 2: White & blue scrolls.
Table 1: Armor & other protective gear.
Chest 1: Quest items, item components, other miscellaneous.
Table 2: Weapons.
Table 3: Ammo.
Chest 2: High-level (or Item Upgrade) Gems & jewelry, magical jewelry.
Table 4: Wands.
Chest 3: Potions.
Bookcase 3: Green scrolls & Priest/Restoration scrolls.

Granted, it has some flaws; if you side with the Thieves, you've got all these Thieves hovering near all your best equipment until Chapter 6. And if you side with Bodhi, you can't dump your stuff there until Chapter 3, and you have to cast Knock on the chest that I like to use for Potions. But after that, of course, it's all good.

Illumina Drathiran'ar 01-21-2004 05:48 PM

I prefer the Harper Hold, if I don't have the Keep.
Several bookcases, so each color (Red, blue, white, and green/priest) can get its own shelf, plus a potion shelf.
A chest for Cleric Weapons (Hammers, Maces, Flails, Morningstars)
Chest for bladed weapons
Chest for Staves...
But you get the idea.
I'm a packrat by nature, and it shows in the games I play.

The house that belong's(ed) to nasty Neb in the bridge district is my favourite dumping ground. You have to kill him first. It's near the western entrance to the district.

Finding a good place to store things is difficult...

But everyone here is right. There's a lot of containers lying around everywhere. And alot of unused houses. Like the one on the right of the Shadow Thief hall in the Docks District...

Another good place for ease of use is probably the book shelf in the top floor of Gaelan Bayle's home for before you go into Chapter 3... it gives you the option of storing anything you don't want to sell before you pay your cash

*edit* That would of course be for the good party. Another good thing about the containers in the top floor of Gaelan's home is that there's a storekeeper right there... and a fairly priced one at that.

For the evil party it's probably not a bad idea to store gear in the crypt on the right of Bodhi's lair (above ground).. once the skeletons in there are dead and the treasure looted it becomes easy to get in there without having to gather your party.. and a place to keep gear when moving in and out of Bodhi's lair to do her quests.

I'm probably incoherent.. and not very good at helping. But I've tried
