I have two things to talk about:

1. Why does the paladin stronghold suck, and are their any mods which make it better or are thier mods for paladin characters in general, any paladin mod?
2. I noticed that one of the fallen paladins in the docks is named Reynald de Chatillon, and he is a "good" fallen paladin, why is that that name belonged to a really evil guy in the crusades.

Because the writers are possessed with a sense of irony. Observe this dictionary definition:

irenic

\I*ren"ic\, Irenical \I*ren"ic*al\, a. [Gr. ?.] Fitted or designed to promote peace; pacific; conciliatory; peaceful. --Bp. Hall.

And in my opinion, the stronghold could suck a lot more. At least it has containers and isn't located in the middle of nowhere... ::COUGHDRUIDGROVECOUGH::

WELCOME TO IRONWORKS!!! The Paladin stronghold does suck, but only because paladins are pretty unfair already, so you must work hardest as one to get the nicest rewards.

Its simple. The programmers spent too much time/energy to make the Fighter Stronghold and the Mage Stronghold so good, the others simply suffered!

Actually, I like the paladin stronghold, for one simple reason: it is the only one that you do not have to wait in between quests. You can literally fly through the quests all in one sitting and then go on with other things, since as soon as you finish one you are assigned the next one.

I didn't mind the paladin stronghold, besides paladin's get really nice pointy rewards from dragons if you get my drift....

Morgeruat 01-14-2004 11:47 AM

IIRC there is a mod that allows you to sleep in the paladin stronghold (not normally an option even when you get a room)

Tyrion 01-14-2004 11:52 AM

i liked the paladin stronhold quests but the stronghold itself wasnt very good...you dont get the feeling that you really belong there or anything

Well, normally, paladins have a rigidly-established chain of command, and start out as squires or whatever. The PC is just thrown in.

Cool so are there any mods or no?

Jerr Conner 01-19-2004 04:19 PM

I like and dislike the Paladin stronghold. I agree it could be better, though my personality doesn't fit a Paladin...

In fact, I may start a thread about personality types and classes in BGII...

Illumina Drathiran'ar 01-19-2004 04:29 PM

There are plenty of quizzes out there developed to match a personality type to a class. In fact, I wrote one myself, on pen and paper, when DMing people who've never played before. I wanted to look it over and see what they'd be best suited for. I used a similar test to determine an alignment, and from there I helped them pick a deity. It was amusing.

Jerr Conner 01-19-2004 04:39 PM

Cool. I did do a test once, but the results were always different...

Salah Al-Din 01-22-2004 07:23 PM

So are there any mods

Most mods(if not all) are listed in Icelus' mod sticky post at the top of the page, so check there. If there is a mod for it I'm sure it will listed.
