I know its silly, But I do it all the time. I always play a female so I only have anomen. Ive also tried Kelsey and Soulifan. What do you all think about these tweakings and which is your favorite? Of couse I also like the flirt patcha and what are your views on that?

I'm not very fond of the male romances in BG2. All three are solid characters in their own right. Angst Boy, the Laid-Back Spell Shooter, and the Drow That Does Anything need more convincing LoveTalks. FW's flirtpacks help.

I think Valygar's romance, when/if the modders ever get finished with it, will outshine Anomen, Kelsey, and Solaufein. I've also heard of other male character mods, but without romances attached.

I really liked Kelsey's romance. I didn't really like Solaufein's. To me, discussing philosophy is boring. I like Anomen's romance well enough (especially after the flirt packs), but BioWare certainly cheaped out on his lovetalks.

Huh... I think at least 95% of the male NPCs in production out there have a romance attached.

Wouldent it be fun if you could seduce minsc and maybe be his new witch if you were a mage?

Off topic, but:

On topic, What do you mean by "tweaking the romances?" I understand the flirt pack, but otherwise, I'm confused. Do you mean you mod them yourself?

I do not like Kelsey and Solaufein.

Solaufin doesn't act all like a drow. When did he learn phylosophy? Between assasinating people? He might have good intention, but he did do lots of evil acts for an evil society in which he spent at least a hundred years living in. He should not be so good natured and physolophycal.

Kelsey just look like some teenager, not like an hero. The portrait certainly don't help.

And their dialogs and actions... both a pink men. I'm expecting them to offer me home made cookies while they clean the house...

The entire point of Kelsey's character is that he's not the hero type. Granted, Forgotten Wars does a really good job of portraying a young man thrust unwillingly into the adventurer role with one of the most powerful classes in the game. I'm a fan of Kelsey as NPC, but not Kelsey as romance option.

Kismet: Cailean is a romance? Hmm. Methinks I must browse more fora.

Yes indeedy. He'll romance females of any race provided her INT/WIS/CHR is more than 7 and she's not a bounty hunter.

I don't know about romanticing Minsc , but I'd always wanted to be his new witch. I'm always playing mages, bards, and thieves.

About the romances. Well the truth is I've never played them. I didn't know about them untill it was too late in the game. I beat the game a while back and have concidered playing again to try them.

Lord 12-31-2003 02:26 AM

You can have Aerie become Minsc's witch, but it's no romance. BTW, don't the Flirtpacks already tweak the romances?

It's the posts like these that make me want to dig out that outline for "Bruce the Cockney Barfighter" romance. So that players can complain that all they really want is a sensitive option.

Those mods are well done, but not everyone like pink men. Just look at celebrites and fictional characters. Bad boys are always more popular than soft guys.

I'd probably try that "Barfighter" romance.

I usually play a female character, and as a lesbian I am definitely not interested in Anomen. I tweak the romances by using ShadowKeeper to turn on the romance variables for the female NPCs that the game programmers have so inconsiderately turn off.
