Maybe not the best or the easiest, but the most fun to play. I have completed the game once and I have seen threads all over the place of people soloing this and people soloing that. What would you guys advise?
P.S - i went through first time as a normal paladin, so I dont want to really be thatagain. EDIT) Or do you think I should play through it normally a few times more? I have completed TOB also. [ 12-06-2003, 06:09 PM: Message edited by: drew_jarvie ] |
Since you have ToB, doing a Wizard Slayer dualed to thief is great since it allows you to get 100% magic resistance, as well as take away the wizard slayer restrictions through a certain thief ability. I've never tried a kensai, but I've heard a Kensai dualed to a Mage makes an ubber killing machine ;)

Solo Archer.
You WILL learn the art of survival or die trying. |
Hi guys, just started playing BG2 again, I am currently in chapter 3.
But more to the point, I would agree with dundee about soloing an Archer. I soloed through BG1 using a Ranger and found it 'tacticly' challenging when fighting big groups of Mages and Archers. My main chracter is currently an Archer and is finding it hard with no metal armour, but it seems possible. Whatever you choose it should be fun - Good luck. Midget Gems Jr. |

Sorcerer if you are familiar with the Spell System. I am currently soloing a Blade and he just rocks! [ 12-07-2003, 02:16 PM: Message edited by: Xen ] |
I'm going to solo as a sorceror, after I complete the game again this time round.
I have a sorceror lvl 32, and I have to admit that killing Firekraag with Finger of Death is extremely funny and rather anti-climaxing :D . If you want to solo, sorcerors are the way :D |
Just go for the power and solo a Kensai ... they own all other classes :D
A Kensai wielding his mighty katana's can't be stopt ;) |
Thief, Dual wepons Katanas
Invis potions + Backstab = death |

I agree on the multiclass fighter thief. Dual wielding, UaI with Tob, for those handy scrolls, and what else do you need. [ 12-08-2003, 10:01 AM: Message edited by: JrKASperov ] |
nuhh uhh, either assasin or mage (generalist)
and thats a summoning mage and a backstabbing trap laying theif |
Good solo's:
Roleplay a evil assasin or better yet is a fallen paladin. Hard solo's: Can't think of anything that trumps the strait Wizard Slayer (even with TOB) or the beast master. It however can and has been done befor. Any class can be soloed it just takes the right player to do it. The real challenge is to roleplay and not just power game when soloing. Want to make it even harder, try soloing taking the first role on everything: orriginal stats and hit points. Playing like this adds a whole new dimension to the game. |
