Morgeruat 11-12-2003 11:53 AM

potion of icedust + anti-dragon helm/shield (or protection from fire scrolls) if you can bump them high enough (101+%) you can heal when he tries to roast you with his breath weapon/spells.

Faceman 11-12-2003 12:51 PM

here's a hint for parties:
If he keeps killing one or two weak members of your party do the following:
+ Buff up one tank to the max and go for Firkraag to draw his fire (literally)
+ Meanwhile sneak the rest of the party out of sight
+ When your tank is nearly worn out, buff up another tank and send him in, meanwhile fleeing with your first tank
+ Heal the first tank and when the second is down to little HP buff him up,etc.
Kind of a Tag Team tactic :D

Morgeruat 11-12-2003 04:13 PM

ooh, another depending on levels and if you have a druid is to cast insect swarm on him (or any similar spell) the constant damage will prevent him from spellcasting (it won't stop contingencies but it will stop him from using Heal)

drew_jarvie 11-12-2003 05:43 PM

I like going with the trap idea listed above. But a better way to reload your traps is (provided they are human) goto the dual class ability on the character status screen. then press cancel and return tio your game. All your traps will now be enabled again. This is better and less time consuming than resting IMO. :?)

Right, and believe me you CAN'T miss him :D

drew_jarvie 11-12-2003 06:16 PM

Sorry, i can't quite remember mate. It is the windspear hills I think. Its the one where youve got to rescue that guy's daughter or something from where firaag has captuered her. Since you are in chapter three, havent you already vanquised the dragon?

Only the Main Plot itself (as you learn more about the game, you'll see what is part of the Main Plot and what isn't) is strictly bound to what Chapter you're in. All of the other major quests--Windspear Hills being one of them--can be done at pretty much ANY time, from Chapter 2 to 6.

Captain SlackBladder 11-13-2003 07:54 AM

Actually, you can only do Windspear Hills in chapters 2, 3 and 6. 4 and 5 you're somewhere else.

Dundee Slaytern 11-13-2003 08:01 AM

You can do it in Chapter 7 too... if we want to be nitpicky.

Sonic 11-13-2003 08:37 AM

Hmm maybe i hawe forgot but is it possible to do it in act 4? i dount think so,but maybe im wrong Cant remember.

Not a chance (unless there is some mode of transportation I haven't discovered ;) - how's that for replay value?).

SixOfSpades 11-13-2003 09:11 PM

I was going to let drew_jarvie find out about Chapters 4, 5 and 7 for himself, but no big deal.

Morgeruat 11-14-2003 09:30 AM

well, technically yes, if you use the CLUAConsole codes to change which map you're on, but if you want to play the game for the sake of enjoyment then just let the game run it's course and find out for yourself.

shadowolf03 11-14-2003 10:49 AM

Okay guys'girls...not sure if this works for you but to KILL HARD CHARACTERS SUCH AS RED DRAGONS read the following...

When the target is neutral towards you (ie.dragon) get one person to talk to it THEN PAUSE!
Select all the characters and FORCE ATTACK THE target. This seems to make the target believe that you are still trying to talk to it and will not turn into a potential enemy.

I know this is bad, but if you're sick of being beaten then...use it!

Cheese = beating the system instead of beating the enemy
Fake-talk in fact is THE cheese, the mother of cheese.
