Can someone please tell me if I am doing something wrong...I followed the instructions posted in the cheats section. I went into the .ini file and entered "Debug Mode=1" but the cheats are not working. I have tried numerous commands and get a message that reads "lua: call expression not a function" and beneath that "Active stack" "Active stack"
There is nothing added to my inventory, and there is nothing on the ground.

Was that Debug Mode=1 with or without the quotes? And can you tell us exactly what you typed into the console?

Debug Mode=1, no quotes.
And I have tried a few command prompts like AddGold(500), also CreateItem().
The only cheat that has worked so far is the key code CTRL+R, and nothing else.

CLUA console is highly unforgiving of typo's and syntax errors...

for example...

CLUAConsole:CreateItem("scrl5k")

you need to follow this syntax EXACTLY, or you will get that error message...

And remember, if you want to make more than one of an item (I'll use Userunfreindly's example), you do:

CLUAConsole:CreateItem("scrl5k",5)

Keep in mind that the CLUAConsole is CASE-sensitive (the item, character, etc. codes are not).
So "CluaConsole" will produce nothing.
The "Debug Mode=1" has to be entered right below [Program Options] (without the " )
Some have stated that you also need to EnableCheatKeys() (don't know if the sytax is correct), but I never needed that. I suppose it is for when you enter Cheats=1 instead of Debug Mode=1.

Its nothing to do with the Debug Mode, its fine. You just arent typing in the thing you want exactly. I think what your doing wrong is missing out the " . If u wanted to go to an area say it would be

CluaConsole:MoveToArea("AR...") That should work

qorin please tell me you've beaten the game at least once without the cheats? I didn't beat it before I started using the cheats and I completely messed up my experience. (note: not in-game character level up exp. but the experience of playing the game.) If you haven't I might suggest that you beat it first without cheats before playing with the CLUAConsole. Unless there is a plot stopping bug that only CLUA can remedy, but I've yet to encounter one.

Firestormalpha, no I have not beat the game. Really all I want is the gold, I am not going to level myself up or anything. I am going to try beating the game on my own...but I need the money for items.

Belive me you <u>will</u> get more money then you need. Just play with your head if you get my point.

It makes no difference. I personally think the CLUA code would be quicker for adding gold.

I just cheated in a bag of holding cause I got tired of balancing my inventory. Increased my enjoyment of the game so I would call it a plus.

Be wary of hacking in extra Bags of Holding--bugs can occur if/when you enter an area containing a legitimate Bag. Things like "Amounts of all stackable items decrease by 1," etc.

beat the game first, but dont rush through go through quests you'll get enough money from that

I have to agree that you should try to get through at LEAST once before going to the cheats. It can be a bitch at times but believe me when you finally win that seemingly unwinnable battle using your wits alone you'll see what I mean. I've played through four times and am starting a new game now and have never used the clua once.

cheat if you want, some people like it better that way, but i would suggest that for getting more gold you should just dl sk, much quicker in the long run and a very useful tool.

Especially for looking up variable names, item or creature codes,... once you need to debug after installing some nasty buggy mod :D
