Firestormalpha 09-26-2003 12:45 PM

Go up to the top of this web page and click the visit Ironworks Website button, and look around. You'll find what you're looking for.

Tasslehoff Burrfoot 09-26-2003 01:23 PM

item codes where do u type them in?

The Offspring of Viconia and Edwin 09-26-2003 01:41 PM

Open CLUA console, enter CLUAConsole:CreateItem("itemcode") if you want an item, or CLUAConsole:CreateCreature("creaturecode") if you want a creature to appear. Someone will be along in a moment to tell you that cheating is evil, and that I have probably given you the wrong cheat anyway.
If you found the codes, the information about typing them in is nearby.

Tasslehoff Burrfoot 09-26-2003 02:17 PM

it says debug dump bahbahbah
x=bahbahy=bahbah
sriptname-

Tasslehoff Burrfoot 09-26-2003 02:18 PM

but nothing happens

Tasslehoff Burrfoot 09-26-2003 02:45 PM

where is the item i asked for?

SixOfSpades 09-26-2003 03:18 PM

Tasslehoff: Learning how to use the CLUA console and 3rd-party editing programs like Shadowkeeper is all well and good, but from what I've seen from your posts so far, you sound like you're very new to the game. Don't cheat yet. Play the game first.

The best reason to cheat is to fix bugs in the game--you haven't mentioned any yet.
The second best reason to cheat is to make balanced changes to the game (like putting the Cavalier kit on a Fighter), because you've played the game many times and want some variety.
The third best reason to cheat is to use items/spells/whatever that you made yourself.

The very worst reason to cheat is to give your newbie party the very best items in the game, to make up for the fact that you don't know what you're doing yet.

<center>Don't cheat yet. Play the game first. Wait until you have a good reason to cheat before you do so.</center>

Now that that's out of the way.....
Open up your Baldur.ini file, and look for the line that says "Game Options". Right under that line, add in "Debug Mode=1" and then another line that says "Cheats=1". (I forget which one does it, so I just use both.)
Now start BG2. In-game, press Ctrl-Space. This opens up the CLUA Console, which is a text window at the bottom of your screen. Here is where you can type cheats in.
CLUAConsole:CreateItem("SCRL75")
will make a single scroll of Identify appear in the Inventory of your party leader. (Whoever's portrait is on top is the party leader.) Note that when using the CLUA Console, the part that's inside the quotes (in this case, the "SCRL75") is not case-sensitive--but everything else IS.

a neat little thing i found was that if you type gorion as the creature code gorion shows up, if you attack him you will die, no matter what

fyi sixofspades i beat the game twice so far with no help not even a walkthrough

Tasslehoff Burrfoot 09-27-2003 01:40 PM

the reason i ask like a begener(sorry cant spell)
is because i am to cheats

Devv 09-27-2003 02:20 PM

Why don't you think of what you want explaining, get somebody to translate it into english for you, then post it all in one post rather than 5 different ones that make nearly no sense at all.

Tasslehoff Burrfoot 09-27-2003 02:28 PM

but then it wouldnt be fun

The Offspring of Viconia and Edwin 09-27-2003 03:55 PM

Fun? It's more like a constant, annoying drone of moaning and bad spelling! If you don't speak English well, I can translate what SixOfSpades said into another language, but no-one is going to post a complete guide to cheating just for your benefit.

And playing through the game twice is not nearly enough, I played through at least 8 times before I even considered changing my game. I'd played through it 11 times before I even discovered this forum.
Cheating will only make your game too easy, to the point where you can kill an army of illithids without taking one hit. Then, you'll get bored of BGII (even if I'm not sure that's possible), and go off to the dreaded Diablo.

im an american.
im an all true and blue american
im insulted that you think anything else

SixOfSpades 09-27-2003 09:05 PM

Tasslehoff, the fact that you say you're from Kansas is enough for me to classify you as an American--and if a person from an English-speaking country still seems to be having trouble with English, I usually put it down to their being rather young, before I mark it down as anything else.

Two quick notes about posting:
1) Most people won't mind the fact that avoid capital letters and punctuation. It's only when you say something like "is because i am to cheats" that we have trouble deciphering what the heck you're talking about.
2) If you have a lot of things to say, it's better to condense them all into one solid post, rather than flooding the thread with a bunch of one-line soundbites. It's better-looking, makes it easier for us to help you, doesn't get Ziroc mad at you for spamming, and actually makes you sound more intelligent.

In your most recent posts, you don't mention any difficulty in importing the items into your game, so I'll assume things are going swimmingly for you in that regard.

Tasslehoff Burrfoot 09-27-2003 11:01 PM

but where do the items go i cant get them

As Six was saying about the 'one solid post,' just simply use the edit button above your post. Note that you can only edit your own post, for obvious reasons ;)
I will also have to warn you, like you already have been, that cheating completely ruins the game. At first, it starts off small. But then the urge to cheat, just because you can, becomes stronger, and you end up ruining the game. Some players abuse ShadowKeeper and the CLUA console for their own benefits rather than to fix things such as bugs. IIRC, Six has a long explanation on what's cheating and when it isn't on his site

Can you activate the Console? If so, just type in
CLUAConsole:CreateItem("SCRL75")
exactly as it is written above, press Enter, and the party member whose portrait is in the top-right-hand corner of your screen will have a shiny new scroll of Identify that wasn't there before.

Are you serious??? Are you talking like this on purpose?? You sound like Yoda a little green alien! At first I thought SIX was being a bit harsh but now i do not blame him.

Am I supposed to be sorry? How exactly did you manage to navigate your way around the perfectly-spelled dialogue of BGII?
Just because you can't be bothered to use grammar and your vocabulary properly, doesn't mean you have to make 11 posts in the same topic in order to get a higher total posts score.

Tasslehoff Burrfoot 09-28-2003 10:49 AM

true very true Offspring

Six it is not working
it says
debug dump:CGame councle
CLUAConsole:CreateItem("SCRL75")
bahbah about the wheather the fog rain lighting
then it says
x=123
y=069
scriptname=Exit061

Faceman 09-28-2003 12:47 PM

Six's syntax is correct but the line in the baldur.ini belongs right after [Program Options] (not Game). It normally is the first line of your baldur.ini
edited it should look like
</font><blockquote>code:</font><hr /><pre style="font-size:x-small; font-family: monospace;">[Program Options]
Debug Mode=1
Installing=0
Install Type=3
3D Acceleration=1
Maximum Frame Rate=30
Path Search Nodes=400000
Translucent Shadows=1
Force 50 Percent Transparent=0
Disable Brighten=1
.
.
.</pre>
Tasslehoff Burrfoot 09-28-2003 01:54 PM

i have it like that but still it does not work

Then I'm at a loss. Who knows, you might just have to live without cheats.

At the end of this walkthrough is a "how-to" for the CLUA console. Here is a list of all the CLUA console item codes.

Go bananas.
