Wow !

Let's say yua make a dual class Assassin/Cleric.
Can you poison Harm ? :D :D :D

If believe you can poison MMM's if you play dual class Assassin/Mage. :D

SpongeBobTheDestoyer 09-18-2003 07:39 AM

Or what about Fireseeds? Booyah!

Armen 09-18-2003 08:10 AM

and, i wonder, do the assassin poison ability and the cleric spell 'poison' stack?

Leslie 09-18-2003 02:52 PM

I'm dreaming about backstabbing with Fulcrum ! :D

Hey, someone should test these ideas ...

Xen 09-18-2003 03:50 PM

I have tested it in ToB since you have mentioned Harm.

Level 21 Assasain->Level 30 Cleric.

I have summoned the ToB NPC talked to him, casted Harm, followed by Poison Weapon. Attacked him,he had something like 4 HPs but the poison finished him off.

So now you know...you can Poision Harm!

Cheesy stuff! Hmm maybe this guy could fit well in my Evil Powergaming party... Yes i think he would.

Heh, his or hers patron diety would definately have to be Talona.

Leslie 09-18-2003 04:26 PM

And if you are a long term planner, you don't have to put any points (thieving) into Find Traps, because you have a priest spell with the same name. ;)

What else is cool about this guy ?

Backstabbing with Righteous Magic out of Sanctaury ? :D
Using Holy Power to have Fighter's THAC0 ? :D
Wearing Amulet of Power ? :D

Poisoned Energy Blades ? :D :D

HLA`s would make him really deadly...

Devv 09-18-2003 07:30 PM

I didn't think this dual was possible coz thieves could only dual to mages or fighters. Anything that duals to a cleric can only use cleric weapons? I think that means clubs are the only thief/cleric compatible thing.

True_Moose 09-18-2003 09:30 PM

Cleric/thieves AFAIK can use all cleric weapons...there are only two weapon types they can backstab with (that both clerics and thieves can use): clubs and quarterstaffs. Don't forget that in ToB, some of these item...problems can be resolved. ;)

And that does sound disturbingly powergamish...like an assassin/mage.

A party idea:
Assassin/Mage
Assassin/Cleric
Assassin/Fighter

Whaddya think?

Yes, but can you apply the poison weapon ability to the harm attack itself? Then the harm attack would be lethal all on it's own...

Heh, I just made an assasin/mage to solo with last night. I had no idea they were on the cheese list already! It seems like a strong character, but the dragons might be a challenge.

Olorin 09-19-2003 07:22 PM

Whoops, sorry, for some reason I read poison weapon and thought "attacked with a poisoned weapon" I should be more careful reading the boards when I'm tired...

Azred 09-20-2003 10:32 AM

The Assassin's ability to poison weapons actually applies an effect to the character, thus any weapon, however created or wielded, will poison the target being hit (unless the target is immune to poison, of course).
The original AD&D allowed for multiclassed assassin/mages for elves and half-elves, and assassin/fighters for half-orcs. Of course, they had the ability to kill an opponent with only one hit, based upon their relative levels. What fun!

Userunfriendly 10-11-2003 07:14 PM

interestingly enough...the assassin poison will actually gain up in level as your cleric class progresses...so a level 9 assasin dual to cleric, once the cleric hits around level 20, the poison will slow creatures...darned useful...

but don't poison fireseeds...much more fun to use g deathblow with fireseeds...

;) ;) ;) ;)

but what about removing them...does the priest spell do that too?

Dundee Slaytern 10-12-2003 08:38 AM

I would love to see how an Assassin->Cleric can legitimately use GDB when GDB is a Warrior-Only HLA.

The spell Find Traps does not disarm traps.

Userunfriendly 10-12-2003 01:53 PM

urm...me do something legit???

who, me???

hahhahahhaa!!!!!!!

;)
