Mine is when my party was fried by call lightning by the Shadow Druid fighting trolls. (relatively low lv party) I just happened to be at the right place at the right time to get fried by the lightning that the druid called to deal with the trolls. My swashbuckler was fried in 2 succession of call lightning...I thought it was the troll right next to me to add in sult to injury... :D

I was like, Gobsmacked by the death animation. :D

Hmm, I think it would be at the same time that I discovered Sarevok's DA ability. I completed the first challenge but my character was dire charmed/dominated or something so Sarevok walks up to him and BOOM! He deals 200 damage to my character and he flops to the floor. I was just sitting there speechless wondering wtf happened...</font>

Getting turned into a squirrel right in front of Mencar. My wild mage moved too close to him while casting a spell, then the wild surge zapped me. He killed me pretty quick after that.

Also, walking into the insta-death trap in Chapter 4 THREE TIMES IN A ROW. Forgot the first time, was not quick enough to catch the character's bad path route the second, then was not watching as the character chased a fleeing Yuan-ti the third.

• Cast a Spell Sequencer containing 3 Flame Arrows at the same time the enemy casted Spell Turning.</font>
• Forgetting about a trap in a dungeon and getting a spike up your a**.</font>
• Getting caught in the explosion of 6 Skull Traps which you had casted earlier.</font>
• Having a ToB NPC dire charmed and proceeding to KO the rest of the party( it didn't help that he had an ability to dish out 200 damage).</font>
• Meleeing an Adamantium Golem with a Sorcerer.</font>
• Mephits and an unconsicious solo Kensai on Insane Difficulty.</font>
• Red Dragon's Fire Breath Attack.</font>
• Lightning Bolt in a small, small room/tunnel.</font>
• Etc... ...</font>

The most sorry about one death I was in the sewers against the sewer bandits. My main fighter, he had an AC of -8, got feared by the mage so he went off wandering around. He met some GIBBERLINGS. One scored a critical hit and boom! Fighter in bits and pieces....

there is no more shame then getting your tank clobbered by gibberlings...

I once came back from a dungeon rather beaten and was on my way to Cromwell when my PC (had only 1 or 2hp left) was attacked and killed by...Habib!
Now THAT was nasty.
Also not so nice:
+ casting area effect spells targeted on a phase spider.
+ having a lightning bolt go awry and instead of hitting the foe in front of you it bounces through YOU from left to right several times
+ having to watch your character die after a finished battle because there is not antidote/slow poison/healing potion/healing spell left
+ whacking enemies within my own web spell and switching from Spider Bane to Sarevok's sword of chaos.
+ casting agnazar's scorcher on an attacking enemy with a mage in the back row.

heh...i've tried that a few times...only thing is one time i won :D
(adamantium golum: about 5 ; Sorcerer: 1 yippie!)

well i did one time have my entire party turned female due to wild magic, before being clobbered by demons (female minsc is HOT!!! :D )

i've used sunfire in a despirate situation, taking out every single party member i had...but my sorcerer...

then there was the time i was having a little chat with firkrag....i clicked the wrong spell on the wrong person.....just call me squirril man from now on (he's previosly cast greater malison on me...i hadn't a chance..)

oh...a good one was when i used ice storm, and froze myself....

The 25th time I tried to disarm the trap in the gauntlet wasn't too bad until I found this site.

now this one beats everything I encountered before.
I was returning from the Shadow temple unrested and beat up.
On my walk down to the mayors house I decided I wanted to get the WHAT out of the chickenbut in my rush I chose the wrong dialogue option on the guy that tells you WHAT is in the chicken. So I had to attack them (the nice little birdies [img]smile.gif[/img] ). I had never before realised that they actually fight back so my log read

Minsc - Death

Decided to have a dual between Edwin and Minsc in a party once to see who would win (was in ToB, so I was able to keep both in the same party with out one leaving). I stupidly forgot the save the game before I started this dual. So, I start with Minsc running after Edwin, when I decide to have Edwin cast Time Stop and then FoD (or maybe it was death spell, it was one of the 2). Well, uh...let's just say that the finger of death accidentally wasn't aimed at Minsc...and my PC failed a saving throw...ended up having to start much farther back since I forgot to save.

my solo halfling swashbuckler was low on life once and got mauled by angry villagers, soooooo not cool.

When there was that time I cleared out the spider's nest with all the baby spiders...

My PC was taking poison damage but I thought no problem--innate ability slow poison. After both of those failed due to casting failures, Jaheira tried to cast a cure poison spell. Only problem was that she also was poisoned (but had plenty of hps)...game over.

Well, I was playing a solo fighter/mage once (I've since given up that ordeal), and I was in Chateau Irenicus fighting those 2 Clay golems in the room while they were asleep. After I cast a fireball in there, I went in but oh, silly me, forgot to equip my armor. Since the golems were awake, I umm... Took a lot of damage, to say the least. I ran out of the room with few HP remaining, but forgot that behind the corner to the North-East lurked 7 goblins (along with goblin archers). I... Went around the corner, only to be shot by a goblin archer and killed instantly (why are they so accurate?).

my priest of Talos with 2 or 3 HPs left (my enemies were almost dead too) and i said "hey, lets cast holy smite to kill off all my evil enemies!".....enough said. Also, earlier in that battle, I had Anomen cast "Holy Word" too...that crippled my party too...

when in the first time i fought the demi lich, i trapped the area where the lich appeared and thought my self very smart. When he become a demi lich, all i could do was to yell.
In sewers i was holded by the darned kobold shaman in the sewers. their archers kiled me like a mosquito (me and my 130 hp)...from this time i never walk alone.
Another stupid death. i trapped the area in Firky dungeon near vampires, and go with my fighter to kill them (prot from negative casted). they charm me and all my traps...ouch!!!
My Sarevok was also charmed. the results were grave. me being a mage with only 20 hp left, and him going criticall...
All these stupid things were in my first play though. i learn fast.

Well, i was sending some summoned monsters for Firkraarg to waste his spells at...
My party was waiting at the lower end of the staircase to his lair...

So, Firkraarg kicked my monsters so they ended up unconscious next to my party...
DRAGON BREATH
EVERYONE DIES...

And i thought i was safe... [img]tongue.gif[/img]

This just happened, and was followed by a game crash, so i figured i'd post it up. Spoiler ahead...prolly.

I was fighting my buddies in the Twisted Rune with a relatively low-level but heavily equipped party (holy avenger, flail of ages, blade of roses, celestial fury, cream of the crop for chapter 1 & 2 items). I'd dispatched the lich's baddies, and was proceeding to give him the beating of his life (but, thanks to improved mantle, landing only my elemental damages). All of my characters were seriously injured by the time I killed him, though not dead, but he imprisoned my hero: a beserker/mage. So, i waited it out, and the very second he came out of his imprisonment, he falls to the floor, dead. The bottom of the screen reads "the berserk state has ended, your character will lose the 15 hitpoints he gained. If your character is below 15 hitpoints, he or she will be killed."

And that's one of my worse deaths.
