May contain minor spoilers, i don't know if you could call them that.

At the end, you see these people all sitting aroun a table with the Skull in the middle, all talking about how you must be stopped. I thought at first that they were the Children of Bhaal in ToB, but they all seem to be guys. Who are they, and do they have any importence in the game?

Cheers.

I think these guys are either the council of 6, or members of the twisted rune. The council of 6 are the mysterious ruling body of Amn and the twisted rune are that group of evil people who are always plotting evil stuff!

Dragonshadow 09-15-2003 10:58 AM

Aah. Do they have anything to do with me in the game?

JrKASperov 09-15-2003 11:09 AM

They are Bhaal priests. It is only some movie to get you excited to the sequel, nothing more.

Dragonshadow 09-15-2003 12:11 PM

Oh. I'm rather disappionted now. I was hoping it could be something really important, a quest or something.

>I always understood that they are the Bhaalspawn whom you fight in ToB; back in the day when they made that movie they weren't so far along with the story that they knew there were going to ba a Half-Orc, Fire Giant, Drow and Half-Dragon among them, hence the fact that they all look like ordinary humans.

There was a thread a while back where people were talking about who the people around the table might be, but it's a part of a thread where things went off-topic, so I can't find it. Perhaps someone has the link?

I always thought that they were priests of Bhaal.

Sagramore 09-15-2003 09:30 PM

It's called "Guys at End of SOA" and it wsa from 4-14...sorry, i couldn't get the link....

It's one of the threads, but it's not the one I was looking for. I remember Six was telling a rapt audience about this crazy idea he had, and how the Guys At the End of SoA™ played into that idea. Lennon and Dundee and Xen and Gangrell and a couple others were giving their thoughts on who those guys might be (or might not be, as it were).

Have I officially gone insane? Does no one else remember this thread?

Dundee Slaytern 09-16-2003 02:08 AM

The thread does exist. ;) Happy searching.

SixOfSpades 09-16-2003 03:45 AM

Since this thread is about the very end movie of SoA, this deserves a big fat <font color=white>SPOILER!</font> tag in the title.

Who those guys are NOT:</font>
  • The Council of Six: There are 7 of them.</font>
  • The Five from ToB: Again, there are 7.</font>
  • The Five, plus Melissan and Gromnir: It's pretty obvious that a Fire Giant is <u>not</u> present at that meeting....</font>
Who those guys might be:</font>
  • The Twisted Rune: They don't worship Bhaal, but they might be using somebody else's table</font>
  • Some hoity-toity Cowled Wizards</font>
  • The Zhentarim</font>
  • [b]Some very mysterious Harpers</font>
My idea is, in short, that they are Priests of Bhaal working to secure his resurrection. I sent the details to icelus, for consideration for his "Unfinished ToB Business" MOD. My idea was certainly big enough to warrant an entirely separate MOD on its own, but it's good to keep one's fellow designers supplied with info on what else is out there.

Well Six, no one ever said that during the making of Shadows of Amn they already knew that there would be a fire giant amongst them, so you're theory doesn't hold that much.

Doesn't mean I don't like your uber-mages idea :D

Dundee Slaytern 09-16-2003 09:20 PM

I still prefer my theory that they are the Game Developers led by David Gaider and Kelvin Dorner, upset that their attempts to kill the PC has failed. ;)
