Does any one know where i can find the mage rings= Ring of Barkskin, Ring of Invisibility, Ring of Mirror Image,Ring of Blur, ring of speed. Help me please [This message has been edited by Little Dragon (edited 10-17-2001).] |
Are you sure that they are legitimate items Little Dragon? Only asking 'cause I've never heard of any of them (except the Ring of Invisibility that I'm told can be purchased from the inn at Ulgoth's - that's if you have TotSC installed).
Anyone know any different? ------------------ Making running away an art form |
I saw these items on a web site called Vaul's baldurs gate page. But no locations were given.
|
I think I had leather armor +3. And no other items (except of ring of the invisibility in Ulgoths Beard) exists (but maybe in DSToSC exists).

Either the Leather armor +3 or the Studded Leather armor +2 is called the Shadow Leather I believe, also, the only two of these things which I think do not exist is the Ring of Speed and Studded Leather armor +2 with missile attraction, I'm pretty sure that a Studded Leather armor +2 exists which is called the Shadow Leather which improves thief skills, but I don't think there is one with missile attraction, I'm so sure that most of these things exist because I've cheated myself to quite a few of them with Gatekeeper or CLUAConsole.

Sorry guys, that's right. The Leather Armour +3 is the Shadow Armour. You buy it from the smith in Beregost I think. It's one of those items that you cannot afford for an absolute age, then wonder why you didn't buy it sooner as the money starts rolling in.
GameBanshee lists the following information on armour: Leather Armour +2 (Outdoor Zone (AR5000) - Loot from Maneira) Studded Leather Armour +2 (Outdoor Zone (AR5300) - Loot from Sendai) If my memory serves me correctly, they can be found on a bunch of female bandits east of Beregost (or around that region). Sorry I can't be more specific, but I hope the location numbers help.http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...iles/smile.gif BTW The Full Plate Mail +1 can be found on Tamoko in the Undercity. ------------------ Making running away an art form [This message has been edited by Lord Brass (edited 10-17-2001).] |
didn't think they existed but it was worth a shot.

If I remember right, the ring of blur can also be bought in Ulgoth in the inn. Another ring of invisibility is in Baldur´s Gate in an inn (Blushing mermaid). You will find it close to the end of the game together with the invitation, which allows you to participate at Sarevoks crowning. You also will find there a short sword +3.

Chris, if you're saying you loot that ring from the assassins in the Undercellar, I can assure you it's not in straight BG1. Are you talking about ToSC?

The studded leather armor of missile attraction is somewhere is BG, but that's a damn long time ago since I played this game.. I can't remember where that was, sorry

the ring of mirror image is somewhere in one of the south east maps of Baldur's Gate the city, its been a few years since i played but i do remember sticking that on my mage after i got it...basically all i remember of that place is that this guy had a few invisible demons chasing me for a time.
sorry if i couldnt be of more help |
SixOfSpades, I have a walkthrough in which is said that the ring can be found in the undercellar. This walktrough is only for BG without ToSC and was published before ToSC was released (at least I think so, but nothing is written in the walkthrough about this). I played BG1 always with ToSC installed, so I cannot confirm the walkthrough´s version or yours.

I don't think the pair in the Undercellar were carrying ANY rings, let alone unidentified ones. Your walkthrough may say they have the Ring because, in fact, they DO....I don't think Krystin's Invisibility is from a spell. The thing is, that ring has been designated "Non-removable" by the designers, so you can't loot it from her corpse. It still shows up when you look at each character in the game with a hacking tool called Infinity Explorer, and that's what I think whoever wrote that walkthrough did.
There are plenty of other characters in the game wearing non-removable items, for when BioWare wanted to give a person certain attributes. Edwin's amulet is one, and also, Sarevok has a sword, armor, and a ring--you can find out all about them with Infinity Explorer, but when you kill him and mouse over his body, you don't see any items at all. ------------------ Boots of Stealth: 1125 gp Shadow Armor: 7875 gp Slipping an Oil of Firey Burning down the back of Sarevok's armor: Priceless |
Fortunately I am playing BG1 + ToSC at the moment again. This evening I will have to kill the tanari in Ulgoth and then move on to Baldurs Gate. Hopefully tonight I can post, if they have the ring or not (i cannot remember the last time i played, but i am quite sure I had a ring of invisibility).
PS The walkthrough is not the best I have to admit because it mixes the position of several tomes and also says that there should be a tome to raise dex. The tome I found at the given position rose cha http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...iles/frown.gif |
OK, Six, you won. No Ring of Invisibilty was to be found at the assasin couple. Not even the dagger+3 promised in my walkthrough http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...iles/frown.gif
|
Yeah, just another +2 dagger, like you needed another +2 dagger. Slythe's weapon is cool, though. http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...iles/smile.gif
It's too bad they decided not to make the Ring of Invisibility lootable....it's not like it'll make your team any more powerful in combat. And I think it'd be kinda cool to have my entire party invisible, just for the heck of it. Me (Fighter): Ring of Invisibility Imoen, Kivan, Minsc, Coran: 100% Stealth Canderous (or Branwen or Yeslick): Sanctuary BTW, I'm playing the game as a solo Thief right now....For all you folks out there who've soloed the whole game, is it possible to take the fight at the Duchal Palace without using spells? The best wand I can use is Sleep, and somehow I don't think that's going to work terribly well. ------------------ Boots of Stealth: 1125 gp Shadow Armor: 7875 gp Slipping an Oil of Firey Burning down the back of Sarevok's armor: Priceless |
I used the one Ring of Invisibility only in the Maze beneath the Thieves guild. I made Imoen invisible and let her scout ahead and disarm the traps. I never used it in combat.
