Hi, first post here, Ive played and won this great game many times, and am again replaying it just doing things i havent done before and having fun. Had a few questions maybe someone knows
1. I cant get into the Pimilco estate, with korgan, after his tomb quest. he says the tomb was looted, etc, lets go to the estate. each time i get there, he says "were too late be careful" etc, but the door is LOCKED and cant get in. I can still go to the copper coronet and kill the former crew of his, but it doesnt update in the journal or give quest exp.
2. I cant get Edwin to talk about the nether scroll,,, and though i can kill the lich who has it, with Edwin in the party, he doesnt get or read the scroll
3. in Waukeens promenade, who is the guy to the far north, alone, outside the colliseaum walls. he is alone and not hostile, cant remember name
4. Do the lady and mr. Ophal do anything significant sitting in the promenade lower middle. they snub me, is that all they do?

thanks for any help. I have done the korgans/edwins quest before, so i know how they workd. but is something that i havent triggered them this time? I have won the game so am not afraid of hearing spoilers, thanks again

1-You can go into Pimilco estate no matter what Korgan says. Did you try ti lockpick the door?
2-I think this is quite a known bug. Do you have the Latest patches and fixes? If not refer to Forum FAQ
3-Don`t know about this.

hi thanks for the reply. ive tried many times still cant get korgans quest to go. beacause ive already done it i know to go to the coronet roof, but even before that, pimilcos is permanently locked. it says he isnt seeing any stragers. with a level 20 theif, and knock spells,20 strength fighter to bash, nothing opens the door. the tomb has already been raided, etc. ive now gone back, restarted game, gotten korgan again, and same thing happens, Pimilco estate still locked. is the quest dependent on level or chapter? thanks again

As far as I know it doesn`t matter. Becuase a player just goes and picks up Korgan and the developers didn`t mean for the player to finish the quest until he is level X.

Hi, thanks/ well installed the patch, no luck. tried several times again, and pimilcos is still locked, says hes not seeing any strangers. i know this wasnt a major quest but cant figure out why it wont trigger, or access. journal gets updated in tombs and advises to head them off, but still no luck with the door. Is alignment have anything to do with triggering the quest? or what if I am going to temple for the first time? do i need to go several times before it triggers? anyways thanks for your help I will figure it out eventually because it is driving me nuts

do you have any mods? i believe some part of some mod messes up atleast the edwin quest. havent figured out which part of which mod, though...

AFAIK, he's not important. He might be involved with an NPC quest, but probably not.

If you're talking about who I think you're talking about - No he does not have any serious impact on the game. But try to talk to him with Minsc in your party, He'll have something nice to say about Boo.

This may be a stupid question but are you sure you completely finished Korgans quest in the graveyard? Korgan has a dialog with you once you reach the end of the passage and he sees the tomb is looted. Did you experience this dialog? You probably have but I thought I'd ask just in case.

i think i can help out.
when you got edwin and korgan in your party and then start korgans and edwins quest in the graveyard district you HAVE to do edwins quest first. go for nevaziah and trigger the dialogue, be sure korgan is in sight of him too.
korgan will ask nevaziah about the book of kaza and the lich's former scholar. then edwin will force the fight and find his scroll. don't claim it to be party treasure, just ask him if he will use it to improve the party.
now go for korgans quest as you would normally do.

Be sure to have the Baldurdash fix tough because there is a well known bug that causes Edwins quest not to trigger further if you use a wrong dialogue option of two which are actually the same and SHOULD both trigger it.

My vote is on dialogue scripts not firing: Sometimes, if characters can't see each other (too far apart, or somebody's Invisible), they won't be able to talk, and that can prevent scripts from firing. For best results, make sure that the PC and Korgan BOTH travel all the way down the hall to Kaza's tomb, and the the PC and Edwin both travel all the way down the hall to Nevaziah's tomb.

Failing that, you might do well to uninstall the game, and do a complete reinstall, with patch & BaldurDash. If this kind of crap is going to happen with every game down the line, the sooner it's fixed the better.

For now, you could use Shadowkeeper to change some Global Variables, to give Edwin and Korgan a kick to their collective rumps and get their quests jumpstarted again.

I will try some of those suggesstions, because nothing else worked. i get the dialogue for both of them in the tomb, but edwin never learns the scroll, ( nothing happens, even weeks later) and the pimilco door is still locked for korgans quest. How do u set the gloabal variables in shadowkeeper? is there a list code? thanks again i will keeeep tryin!it has become a mission now

well ive tried just about everything aside from a fresh uninstall/reinstall, and the pimilco door is always locked. i had both edwin and korgan, went to netherscroll lich, korgan was told the book was down to south, etc, got netherscroll, told edwin to use it to help the party, etc, went south, korgan says to go to the estate quick, etc, but its always locked, . ive tried multiple combinations, installed patches, etc... im at a loss. its not a major quest but at this point i will mess with the variables in shadowkeeper , if i could ever find them. edwin gets the scroll, but never learns it. also, nalia is never taken by the guards or her fathers funeral is absent also . ive done her quest, gotten the keep, etc, but the whole funeral thing never happens either .is there a list of variables in shadwokeeper to try? thanks

<span style="color: lightblue">Nalia's Father's Funeral is on a timer, and is probably controlled by her banter script... which means that the timer is completely random.

uhm if nalia's quest is blocked too i think somethin is wrong with ALL npc quests and your bg2 installation. reinstall i say, and don't use old saves

Die! Die!) And as far as I know he has Yoshimo, Cernd, Jaheira(2?), Minsc(2 or 3), Aerie, and Anomen (funny one) all have one or more special reactions over this time.and besides of the 'girly' sound of edwins, you can download the ease-of-use mod to change his (or maybe ehm..her) potrait to be a woman ;) .about korgan, the estate is actually always locked.to complete his quest, go to the roof part of copper coronet to fight some bad guys.</FONT>

BaRoN, how about some nice SPOILER TAGS to hopefully dissuade achilles from reading about Edwin? It actually *IS* more fun to find out that sort of thing for yourself, you know.

And Pimlico's Estate should be UNlocked if you've got Korgan, and have been to the Tomb in question. It's there that Korgan makes his speech that leads you to the conclusion of the quest (if you've installed BaldurDash, that is).

Thanks guys. actually ive won the game and most all quests at one time or another, and done the edwin quest before , and korgans. i know how it goes, i was just paraphrasing/abbreviating. thats what makes this all the more frustrating is i have done all these quests before, and know how they turnput or what is supposed to happen out, thats how i know things arent working right this time. i will keep trying, ive reinstalled the game now 8 hours later
