Finaly, after months of waiting, this is finished. For those that dont know, this is the mod that adds BG1 into BG2.

You can download direct from the creator by going to the teambg IRC server, channel #tbg , follow the instructions.

I'm not sure if the checks for BG1 were ever implemented, but legally you have to have BG1 to install this mod.

Yay! Now we can play BG without having to cope with the extremely slow movement rates!


What about the character avatars?

I have a 120 hour download to go before I can see for myself, but I presume character avatars will be the BG2 versions. Small price to pay.

He has to have dial up as it take "only" 8-12 hours per files if you have a high speed connection.

Yes, I have dialup. Its taking even longer than I thought though, the server is insanely busy.

I'm having a similar problem, but it's the opposite. I can download, but I can't send files. I think it's because of my router.

well, you would download two files and I would get three of them, then when weve both finished we burn to CD and swap. Either by mail or by meeting up, whatevers easiest.

Ive got part of bgt_distro.ace and bgt_distro.c03, so choose two different files.

Also, the IRC server is less crowded than the FTP, you have to download mIRC (google will turn it up), turn off auto-ignore in the options, then connect to server irc.teambg.net , channel #bgt . I'm not using the smaller dialup files since I already have 100Mbs from the large files, I dont know if I should switch.

is it on kazaa or sumthin because it would be much quicker if you download it on p2p?

and by the way, where will i save it to? just into the bg2 folder?

It was originaly going to be distribued on kazaa, but there were problems. I suggested they use BitTorrent, but nobody listens to me.

The link is working fine now, but yesterday was 60 bytes pyer second, giving a total download in the region of 3000 hours. Use something that has file resume, I'm using getright.

Save it to your downloads, put it into Bg2 when youhave the whole thing. I'm not sure how bardez has set this thing up to install.

andrewas, in what stage is this mod, anyways? Still beta, or already Gold in a Darkest Day way (so in other words, still beta as hell - heck, did they ever make that particular mod bug-free in the end? ;) )

Seems to run pretty smoothly from the ftp server. Though only 12K/s. [img]smile.gif[/img]

I'm using dial up too so I event won't try to dowload it at home. I'm (ab)using my friends Debian server. :D SSH just rocks, don't you think..

Downloading at 12 kb/s myself as well, but that's better than I'd expected, anyways. I'm not complaining. [img]smile.gif[/img]

Should work with that directory, try replaces the %20 with actual spaces - I should flame saitoh for using spaces in that anyway, they do have a tendency to screw things up.

Or get something better, getright is working flawlessly for me. Do not try and use the default IE downloader, unless you can garauntee a stable connection for at least 24hrs.

what are u using to download it, real download? getright? it works fine if i just use the normal download but it sux cos u gota start agen everytime u go off the net.

does this realdownload have click monitoring? If so, just go to frp://211.138.10.4/aux/BGT/upload/ and navigate to the file from there.

Otherwise, there are loads of free FTP clients on the net that support resuming.

andrewas how fast does getright go for you? its only goin at like 1.5k/s for me where as my ususal downloads go at about 5k/s. Is there any way to boost the speed? also is it worth using segmented downloading?

At the moment Im getting 3.5 - 4.5 out of it. Yesterday was a nightmare though, <1K most of the time. It varies depending on load.

Segmented download is a bad thing in general, since it hogs slots. But it should get you a bit more bandwidth. I used it on the last one, dosent seem to make a massive difference but give it a go.

I'm using NetVampire, and have a cable connection myself; download rate varies from practically no traffic at all to 36 kb/s at times, at an average of about 9 kb/s. Decent enough. Have already downloaded two of the .ace files so far. ;)

mine is goin painfully slow for some reason. its on about 2k/s but i ususally have 5k/s i dont no whats happening

So this mod does excactly what? From what I gathered it lets you play through baldurs gate 1 with the barbarian monk etc classes. Ok well if thats true i will download it..

i am not entirely sure what this mod does and this is probably a stupid question but do you have to start form the beginning of BG 1 to get this mod to work.

What is does is import Baldur's Gate 1 into Baldur's Gate 2, which mean that you will play using the Baldur's Gate II engine, including the better resulution, and speed of Baldur's Gate 2

It use the rules and proficiencies of Baldur's Gate II, so yes, you can play BG1 as a BG2 class.

The creator of the mods also added BG2 non-magical items for sales at the shops. So that you can buy Katana and the like in BG1.
