I set sail with Sameon and I just realised THE GUILD I won't be able to pay while I am gone and I won't be able to come back on time. When i come back the fool Renal would have taken it over is there no way to prevent this?

I don't think you should worry Sythe. I've never done the thief guild myself but I've heard that it's put on hold while your in spellhold/the underdark. Confirmation anyone?

All stronghold quests and triggers are put on hold during the underdark, you will get a load of messengers when you get back home though.

If Bioware didnt put them on hold.. i think we would have a lot of unhappy customers about that issue. that would mean we all would have to finish them before ch. 4, or start in ch. 6, which no body would like.

Lukily, we dont have to deal with that and they just wait and wait till we get back :D

Hmm...how would the strongholds know that you're unavailable? Do the Shadow Thieves (or Bodhi) drop by your place of employment to give everyone the news? What would they say? "I'm sorry, but your leader is gone, we're not sure when or if they're going to come back. Mind stopping all your functions until they return?" Heck, if I was Bodhi or one of her crew, why warn the people in the stronghold? Time for dinner. Dibs on the Major Domo!

I lost it once because I set seal to Brynnlaw and I was almost near my due.

When I left the Underdark.. and entered the elvish encampent, I got the ''renal waits for your due'' message.. I rushed to the interrigation and set my corse to Amn, then I met Drizzt for the second time talking about bodhi blablabla, then it struck me! Renals due!

I hurried to Amn and enterd right at the Docks District, when I arrived in the docks district I got the following message ''you lost your guild, renal will not wait'' something like that.. I was going like ''WTF!!! this aint fair :( !!''

Luckely renal was so kind to me that I could buy back the guild, I killed them all and saved myself some money and got myself a pair of boots of speed, renal will not mess with me! no one will [img]graemlins/hehe.gif[/img] ! </font>

whoa whoa whoa WHOA hold the cheese if I kill Renal I get boots of speed AND I don't have to pay no more?

You'll probably lose the Guild if you kill Renal (Though I'm not sure of it)
But you will get boots of speed if you kill him (make sure you do this after the Underdark because otherwise you will feel the wraith of Arkanis Gath) </font>

if you lose the guild you can buy it back for a large sum of gold.

There is a way to prevent it, pay the due for your guild right before you leave for Spellhold. I know it's a lengthy journey but I've made it all the way back with time to spare, just takes a lot of healing potions :D

actually, it goes on hold just after you get on Saemons ship. if you pay it right before leaving, take all the time you want, for it makes no difference. if you didnt pay right before leaving, well, itll make no difference, since itll still appear after the total time has passed just as if you never visited underdark. atleast i belive it to work like this, since i dont recall even getting the guilddues message after surfacing with my thief.
