Alright, i just got ToB, but i need this to be answered quick to im putting it hre instead of the ToB forum.. cuz i know not many people go there. Anyway, i have the offical SoA patch and Baldurash fixpack installed, then i installed Sola Mod,then i instaled ToB (just now). Did i do something in thewrong order? do i need to uninstall Soa to get rid of the patches and install stuff in a diff order?

I hope i dont have to, but is there anyway i can just installed the Tob patches over this and make it work? i dont remmber if you have to have a new game for Sola, i hope you dont cuz i dont wanna start a new one to get him. What do i do?

Again, the order i have things installed is:
SoA
SoA offical patch
SoA baldurash fixpack
Sola
ToB

I have a feeling i did somthing wrong buy insalling ToB over all that stuff. So.. what do i do? Thanks ahead for any responses.

After you beat SoA, you automatically go right into ToB in the elven forest in Suldanessular. You haven't done anything wrong, don't worry about it Xero. Just beat Irenicus and you're set.

Backup your savegames, completely uninstall, reinstall in this order:
SOA
TOB
TOB Official Patch
TOB Baldurdash Fixpack
Sola

It matters which order you install them in? I thought it didn't matter since ToB is compatible with most things.

[EDIT]I know you install ToB before so you can do Baldurdash and the patch, but I'm talking about Xero's nest of installs.[/EDIT]

One more question about soa and tob:

If i am playing a current game of soa, and i want to do watchers keep before i finish soa, is that ok? can i do that? Also, if i do WK before i finish SoA, will i have be able to come back to AMN and finish SoA, then do more.. like does ToB add more than WK? What i want to be able to do is do WK before i finish SoA, come back to Amn, Finish SoA, then hopefully have something else new to do after the last battle. is any of this possible? thanks

So questumentive Xero, like a kid in a candy store :D Yes, you can finish (or play) Watcher's Keep in SoA before you beat it. You can come back to Amn anytime you want, just think of WK as a side quest like all the others that this game has ;)

So yes to all of the above.

Xero279 04-12-2003 10:36 PM

haha cool. so will i have some other ToB stuff too if i do WK before the end battle?

ALSO! one more question :evil laugh:, if i want to install the bonus merchants and exp cap remover, do i do those after i install sola? or before. Come on Gangrell! im giving you plenty of chances to catch up with me in posts! ;) just be happy i have a horrible memory and cant remmber which order to install this stuff in

Gangrell 04-12-2003 10:40 PM

You dare challenge my great typing and immunity to finger cramps?!

It doesn't really matter which order you install them in, there's only a select few mods that you have to install in a certain order (Kelsey, Imoen, and so forth).

Gangrell 04-12-2003 10:41 PM

Oh yea, on a side note, make sure you read the Read Me's to make sure the mods are compatible with each other.

Xero279 04-12-2003 10:45 PM

Thanks, but im only installing Sola, Bonus Merchants, and the exp cap remover. nothing un compatible.

Gangrell 04-12-2003 10:48 PM

*Checks through all SoA and ToB posts*

You want the drow dude pretty bad huh? Watch out though, he hits on guys and girls

Xero279 04-13-2003 02:15 PM

errr.. im sorry! forgive me! ill download those eventuly! :( ive never played ToB and i wanna play it vanilla (maybe with sola :D ) the first time thru. ill download them i promise!!

jcompton 04-13-2003 02:43 PM

Basically, installing anything "official" will always kill mods. So if you put on TOB, if you put on the official patch... boom, mods broken.

Ummm... i have the offical ToB patch and the baldurash fixpack, and the sola mod and it still works. I have sola in my party now.

Annatar 04-13-2003 04:12 PM

You went to the Underdark quit vast then...

Its a sin that you did not install those beauties from WeiDU you hear me, a sin! :D

I think what jcompton means that if you install anything else then plain vanilla SoA - ToB (like baldurash and offical patches) that it isn't plain any more... ofcorse I can be mistaken.

Xero279 04-13-2003 04:34 PM

Hmmm, i guess we will have to wait till Jcompton comes back aroud to see what he ment

So.. What did you mean J?

Grammar 04-13-2003 08:54 PM

I think he means that if you install mods and then install an official patch it will destroy the mod?

Patches overwrite Dialogues in Dialog.TLK, not append them, right?

Xero279 04-13-2003 09:29 PM

I think you got it Grammer. Patches do overwrite dialogs, but mods add new dialogs as well as edit existing ones.. i guess thats where the patch would screw up the mod. thats why its important to patch before, not after the mods
(jeez, i sounded like a storybook teller explaining the moral of the story just then :D )

jcompton 04-14-2003 12:00 AM

Yes, Xero is right.
