If you choose the fear-good path in Hell you'll gain immunity to +1 and less weapons .. I'd like that ability, but didnt pick it ( reloading not an option ). I *though* I had it figured out, by using shadowkeeper to assign SPINxxx ( cant remember exact number) to my Innate abilities.
That is the spell marked "Hell Fear-good".
However, I cant memorize it .. it says "cant memorize anymore spells from that lvl ) .. I added 1 extra spell to each spell-lvl via shadowkeeper but it still doesnt work.
Also, it wont even show up in the special-abilities taskbar in-game ...

Im currently playing a lvl 25/26 wizardslayer/thief with ToB ... coudl it be that all my traps and other HLA's prevent any further abilities from fitting in ?

Basically: How do I gain Immunity to +1 and less weapons via shadowkeeper ?

Thx for any replies

TaSSaDaR 04-08-2003 06:43 AM

IMHO this immunity is not a special ability but an affect or something.. Try to tinker with them too. IIRC, there were two affects pages - one negative, one positive. The thing you're looking for is on the 'positive' page, of course

Captain SlackBladder 04-08-2003 07:19 AM

Hang on a minute, you're a lvl 25/26 wizard slayer / thief ?
You're almost invincible anyway. Who cares about +1 or less weapons !!!

Annatar 04-08-2003 07:42 AM

<font color=white> It should be in the Global Variable's, not a special ability; it's an global effect (scripted) that gives you immunity to +1 and lesser weapons.

Its not hardcoded in the game, so it could be changed (either using infinity or other modding progs.).. but you could look in the global variables (SK) and do some extensive searching.

Ugh .. never mind then. I'm not touching that,.. that'll be like me building an atomic bomb, which is quite unlikely

Alson 04-08-2003 08:42 AM

daan, try this:

Open Shadowkeeper. Go to Settings meanu, open "Spells...". Are the "Use Limit" spaces checked? If so, remove it, and try again.

If all fails, tell me, and i'll write you a simple script that will cast "Hell Fear - Good" on you. That should do it, and it shouldn't take more than one minute to write.

Annatar 04-08-2003 08:43 AM

<font color=white> It should be quite simple though, I'll look at the TeamBG forums for some info about this subject.. I would also wanna know how this is done.

But I'm pretty sure that it can't be done with the use of SK alone.

[add] Okay... Alson can you write me the same script? </font>

Good call there .. the boxes were indeed checked and I was able to add the spell to my innate abilities. Pressing the "mem +" button also worked this time, which was new .. but .. ingame, the -should be memorized- button is nowhere to be found. No extra spells in the bar that has the abilities of items, not extra spells in the bar with the "lay trap" etc.

A script would be most welcome
But you'll have to tell me what to do with it, since all I could come up with is probably reading it outloud to the computer ;)

A HotKey would be sufficiently primitive? ;)

daan press T! daan loves scripts good! Buga buga!

Expect it in... 15 minutes? I wanna take a bath first, just came back from a basketball game. Just PM your email to me meanwhile.

daan 04-08-2003 03:17 PM

Soz, didnt read your post untill now .. PM'ed it though

Imrahil 04-08-2003 09:31 PM

I tried checking my ShadowKeeper-Affects (still bugs me... shouldn't that be Effects? ) tab Before/After receiving that reward & found these 2 lines added...

Line 1 -
Type: Immunity to Weapon
Name:
Param 1: 1
Param 2: 0
Resource 0:
Resource 1:
Resource 2:
Resource 3: Hell Fear Good [SPIN754]
Time: 45
Flags: 0x00000009
Target: 0x0002

Line 2 -
Type: Immunity to Weapon
Name:
Param 1: 0
Param 2: 2
Resource 0:
Resource 1:
Resource 2:
Resource 3: Hell Fear Good [SPIN754]
Time: 45
Flags: 0x00000009
Target: 0x0002

(note that the only differences are Param 1 & Param 2; )

Try adding those to your Affects tab & let me know if that works - I'd be interested to know how reliable that is if someone else wants to do the testing.

- Imrahil

Alson 04-09-2003 05:47 AM

Hmmm... sorry, daan, the spell seems to require an extra parameter to take effect - one that I don't know of, and thus cannot apply through the script. :(

However....

Try Imrahil suggestion. If it works, great. If it doesn't... equip item "IMMUNE2" to one of your rings slots via Shadowkeeper. That'll do for sure.

Let us know.

daan 04-09-2003 08:22 AM

I'll keep editing this one to prevent further spamming

If I edit and then click it again to recheck the values a few have changed:
Type: 0x00000000
Target: 0x00000002
Resource 3: Hell Fea

Rest is the same .. probability I still leave on 100

Annatar 04-09-2003 08:29 AM

<font color=white> Yes, probability should be on 100, its actually a % based effect.. when it is set to say like 50, you have 50% chance of the effect to happen IIRC.

So to constantly have the effect, probability should be 100.

I'll test in on my game to, I'll keep you posted

[add] Didn't work for me, all the settings are changed and he can still be hit with a plain katana and a +1 katana :( </font>

Didnt work for me either,.. though equipping that ring does
As for the ring,.. all it does is grant immunity to +1 and less weapons ?

Yep.

IMMUNE1 grants immunity to normal weapons.

IMMUNE2 grants immunity to normal and +1 weapons.

IMMUNE3 grants immunity to normal, +1 and +2 weapons.

IMMUNE4 grants immunity to normal, +1, +2 and +3 weapons.

IMMUNE5 grants ....

Annatar 04-09-2003 01:33 PM

<font color=white> Is this something SK provides (those rings), because I can't seem to find it in IE nor in the Override map of BG II.

Where can I find it? because I would love to know how those rings work.

Alson..?
</font>

Alson 04-09-2003 02:34 PM

?! Are you sure you can't find them with the Infinity Explorer? They should be there. Try this: File -> Locate File By Name -> IMMUNE1.

They're quite simple... nothing fancy, just plain

IMMUNE_TO_WEAPON TargetType:1(Myself) Param.1:0(Power) ...
IMMUNE_TO_WEAPON TargetType:1(Myself) Param.1:1(Power) ...

Annatar 04-09-2003 02:43 PM

<font color=white> Aaah.. yes I see, IMMUNE01 didn't work but IMMUNE1 did it.. thanks.

This could be edited with IEEP wouldn't it? </font>

Vedran 04-09-2003 02:53 PM

Yes, you could edit it with IEEP.

<font color=white>

Aaaah stop it :D

I will make an item out of it ofcorse... great for spellcasters and alike </font>

Vedran 04-09-2003 03:42 PM

I made a ring that makes wielder immune to +1 and normal weapons. Equip it and toss it, you'll stay protected permanently.
I am sending it to anyone who wants.
The file is named "Prsten.exe" (prsten=ring). You need to run it and point it to your BG2 directory. Once in the game, create it with:
CLUAConsole:CreateItem("Prsten"). You can copy/paste this line to the console (paste = Ctrl+V).

Lord Demerol 04-09-2003 03:49 PM

Annatar... one last suggestion:
Once you're done with your Katana, open it in IEEP and EXPORT it to a folder (i.e. 'Annatar's Items') using IEEP's export function.

AFAIK, if you only save it as an *.itm file, and you have to reinstall the game, you might find that your carefully written description (the history of the weapon) is gone. At least that's what happened to my own items... :(

[EDIT] Damn! I just noticed I posted this in the wrong thread... re-posting it in the right one now.

You can download it here.

Annatar 04-10-2003 10:49 AM

<font color=white> Vedran, can you also host Items that I create/planning to create?

Because when Sorta is finished... I assume that people would like to have it in their collection, and I will create several other well-balanced filled with history items

</font>

Vedran 04-10-2003 11:25 AM

Gladly. But my name stands first .
Don't forget to put your name at the end of the description.

Imrahil 04-13-2003 11:52 AM

FWIW, I tried adding the 2 lines I posted above to a new character & it worked. I was able to add it to my main PC & second character & they both got "Weapon Ineffective" when attacking each other with a regular Longsword & with the +1 Dagger.

It's possible I missed one of the parameters or something, so what I did was open up a Save game from the end of SoA where I already had a character with those lines (they should be near the bottom of your Affects tab), highlight the lines (1 at a time), hit Copy, switch to my new characters' Save game, & hit Paste.

You also get a new line in your Global variables tab called TEAREYE1=1, but it didn't matter whether I had that in or not - tried it both ways.

- Imrahil

Annatar 04-13-2003 12:03 PM

<font color=white> Hmmm, thanks for testing it again Imrahil.

So it cannot be created, it most be copied from a final save game.. hmmm strange.

Vedrans ring is probably the easier way though.. </font>
