Sorry to bother but I can't install the Weidu mods.
When I try to enter the setup's it tells me that it can't find the dialog.tlk file.
I have ToB installed also...what can be wrong?

Do I have to install some patch or what?

Tyrion 02-23-2003 07:59 AM

Please help me!

I re-installed cause the game crashed, but I have a question.

Do all the Weidu mods work on an already started charachter if i get them installed now or do i have to start a new character for them to work?

Annatar 02-23-2003 08:24 AM

Most of the WeiDu mods. recommend you begin a new character because some of the mod alterrations in the game begin at the beginning of the game... I when you are in chapter 6 or something you do not have that Mod Option avaible. However not al the WeiDU mods urge you to begin a new character.

I urge you to Read the Readme.txt documents when Installing WeiDU mods. most of the FAQ are anwserd there.

Im still in Irenicus dungeon...

Annatar 02-23-2003 09:16 AM

Did you install all the WeiDU mods you want?

If not, do so and begin a new game.. now you are only in Irenicus his Dungeon so that isn't a real big part to do again.. (only boring).

Maybe this mod is also something for you (skipping the most boring part of BG II).

I read the readme's and they stated that starting a new game was unnecesseary so i'll go with that!

I just have a question, I have a Heroux fixpatch installed and also a BG2ThroneOfBhaalFixPack112 I can install. Do I need to download the latest patch from Bioware too?

It was a laugh to find the dialogue when exiting Chateu Irenicus between him and Immy. "Can I sign your T-Shirt" :)

Check out Dundee's sticky thread. It features all the patches you need

It is recommended to first install all the BioWare patches (SoA/ToB) before you install a non-BioWare patch (like Baldurash Fixpack,ToBFixPack ect.)

Uninstall mods.
Run Official Patch.
Re-run Baldurdash.
Reinstall mods.

Heroux-Baldurdash-v1.0.3...and BG2ThroneOfBhaalFixPack112. Are they any different?

jcompton 02-24-2003 03:52 PM

Heroux-Baldurdash, AKA Baldurdash Remix, implements all of the TOB fixes and most of the SOA fixes, and does most of them in a way that allows them to be installed after other mods without worrying about damaging things that might have already been edited. Among other things, you can apply script patches to NPCs and correct spelling and such in the dialog.tlk file AFTER other mods are in, which you can't do with BD Classic.

Remix 1.0.2 had a nasty bug in it but so far there's been no problems reported with the new version.

Thorfinn 02-25-2003 04:56 PM

Don't take this the wrong way, but did you copy the mod file into your BGII folder before running it? It has to be there, or it will report that it cannot find the DIALOG.TLK file. (It took me half a dozen tries before it dawned on me to try copying it to the correct folder.)

And, no, you do not have to start a new character. At least, I didn't. I have three games running concurrently, and just recently installed several of the mods, including Baldurdash, Items, and the tactics mods.

Another problem with dialog.tlk that I had, (and I believe that is not the case here) is that you shouldn't have any application or program that uses it running at the same time. That is, close Infinity Explorer, NearInfinity, TLK Editor, Baldur's Gate game ;) , etc.

Vedran.. I'm in need of advice about installing mods/patches ect. in this Thread... I glady partake on any advice you have... ;)
