the shadow dragon is drivin me mad!!
ice storm does 14 damage once, hardly enough. lower esistance last for 2 seconds before it wears off. then he makes mince meat of me cos he is resistant to magic weapons. help plz:

i use mainly:
daystar sword
azuredge axe
frostreaver axe
belm+2
mace of undead disruption
flail of ages
shadow blade (assasin blade)
arnane sword

which of these items will help?

Lower Resistances does not last for 2 seconds. ;) [img]tongue.gif[/img] Your Mage was most probably of too low a level for the Shadow Dragon to notice a difference. Cast 2-3 of them instead.

However... your party is not very magic-oriented, so I see no point in lowering the SDragon's Magic Resistance in the first place anyway. Fill up all your level 5 spell slots with Breach instead.

Get Jaheira to summon some Mountain Bears, while Aerie summons some Aerial Servants. Position the summons in front of the SDragon, while your Fighter, Cavalier, Fighter/Thief and Yoshimo stay at the back of the SDragon. Aerie and Jaheira should standby on one of the SDragon's side, within ranged distance.

When you are ready, get Aerie to cast a Minor Spell Sequencer with Chant and Bless on the tanks followed with Haste. Once boosted, start chopping. Use Breach and Insect Plague on the SDragon once it turns hostile.

One word: Feeblemind ;)
Greater Malison comes in handy as well

Is this due to an XP-Cap remover or ToB?
If it is due to the latter, both Greater Whirlwind or Critical Strike (whatever you chose) should make short work of him.

xp cap remover is y he is level 20.

if u have faced the shadow dragon, u no he kills summons cos he sucks out their souls.

i dunno wots happening, i beat the shade lord no problem so i gonna go back now and defeat this dragon. he is resistant to feeblemind and its driving me up the wall. plz help me!

You have to use have to use Lower Resistance and Greater Malison to get it to work. He will still Save vs Spell even then, so you may have to try a few times. Be patient and dont get mad; get even!

greater malison? idont have that spell. where can i steal it?

The scroll salesman in Waukeen's Promenade sells Greater Malison spells, I mean the salesman above the two Inns and not the woman in Adventurers Mart...at least thats where I found my Greater Malison spell

Gee, the scroll didn't fall into my lap as I wandered around aimlessly, I think I'll immediately cheat it into my game instead of actually going & looking for it.

try blinding him as well, glitterdust is excellent in this regard as are the blindness spell, stay out of his melee/wing buffet range and you're good.

negative plane protection is also good as shadow dragon breath drains levels
