As to what to do just wander to the different rooms with the stairs all your questions should be answered as what to do. It is pretty straight forward. You need to try to get that big door open and by going to the various rooms you will find yourself.
As for the final battle you should be good although I found the battle to be harder than the previous battle with him. I also had a staff of nature of some sort to summon lots, and lots, of striders. You should be OK I think some of my NPCS were slightly higher levels. What is up with Minsc? I think both Minsc and me were at level 17. But that was by completing the different rooms. Both Jaheria and Aerie were a little higher. I also had Jan and he was not so high as your Anomen. Imoen was exactly the same. [ 11-12-2002, 05:42 PM: Message edited by: pritchke ] |
When i finished SoA, I was well over level 20.
I had ToB installed thought... I reached maximum level while i was in Underdark... that is very weird... lol |
Those levels arent IMBOSSIBLY low... but naturally it will make the battle harder .... There are XP opportunities in hell... if you are really worried that you dont have enough and you are desperate you can fight the black dragon in the Pride test so that you get the black dragon XP and the 300000XP bonus as a reward at the eyes gate... but that does change your alignment to neutral evil (unless you have that lovely little bug I used to have ), also the scrolls found on his body will help as well.. but again.. only recomended if your desperate or evil .
And also there are two Balors and two Demons to fight |
it's ok i'll go to the following places:
sewers + mind flayer temple (never bothered doin that) Palanar Sphere Bridge District derelict house (open with rogue stone?) North Forest Forest of Tethir. then i'll go back to sudanesslar and then kill parasites etc and kill irenicus and carry on. do u think that'll help with exp? ps. does the tree of life in sudanesslar hav a time limit to save or no??? just wanted to add Irenicus was so easy!! Plenty of summons to keep him occupied and that was that.

Doesn't the game scale its difficulty according to the state of your party, so that you always have a chance when fighting "mandatory" enemies?

well if you don't feel like levelin up I have a easy tactic to kill Irenicus well actually it ain't easy takes several relaods
Summon monsters doesn't matter what level near the entrance cast haste on your party too and have a lotta dispels ready when you see Ireincus blah blah blah run away down south and let ur monsters get slaughtered. After a while Irenicus comes and immideatly turn into a bloody slaya and attack and with ur tanks casts breach and other spell removing spells to inflict damage and make sure he doesn't have a chance to cast his spells and if it seems like you are going to die of being slayer too long change back hopefully you will win!!!! |
I would suggest loading an earlier save and leaving the Elven city & finish up whatever major quests that have yet to be done. Even if you are at the exp cap (assuming ToB is not installed), there are still some nifty items you can find by doing so. For instance, doing the Planar Sphere gets you the ring of acuity (extra spells for mages at levels 3,4 & 5 iirc).

If you mean you only have a time limit to save the game the answer is still no |

Here's a thought: Thorgrim, what difficulty do you have the game set on? If you've got it on "Easy," the monsters do less damage, yes, but they give you less EXP, which I think is probably why your party is so low-level. My Anomen is only 2 Cleric levels below you, and all that my party did was
de'Arnise Keep side with Shadow Thieves get the Daystar and then we hopped on the boat to Spellhold. We just left the Underdark. |

If the difficulty was always scaled, the game would be pretty linear, and thus, boring, don't you think? ;) |

I just tested - killing a Beholder was worth 14000 XP on both Insane and Easy levels. ;) That is a myth that must be broken. |
well i'm doin loads more quests again and now most of my party are above 15.
main char is 17 and so is anomen, minsc is 15, imoen is 15 on mage and i cant rmemeber the others |
