Diablo III - Lets all pick a server together to play on!
 

I know a lot of members will be playing it, and I am working on a Diablo 3 Forum now. Also will have stickies for the item creations, and the other things.

But if we all play on the same server, we can group up and kick some major boss ass! :)

BTW, the Open Beta is open for EVERYONE this entire weekend! Go grab it and try to get in.. (its packed, and I'm getting 'server is busy error 37) but just means its full..

Can't WAIT to play it. saved my 1 game card from Christmas for THAT one game. hah!

I can't wait for the game. I've been counting days for two weeks. Hopefully my pre-order will get here on day 1. :)

I don't know how servers work for this game, but I'll definitely be on american servers. If it's like the good old days it will probably be USEAST. I'll let you guys know. It would be nice to play with the Ironworks gang again. :)

I doubt i will ever play it online, i'm way too busy still in WoW to play another game on the side, and with the next expansion coming up in a few months i doubt that's gonna change any time soon. Might give it a try as single player sometime though, if that's even possible.

I have to stop playing Kingdom of Amalur due to a game stopping bug. I was already 3/4 of the game. Boo! Don't feel like replaying all over again and do all those quests again, the game is f* big man!

I pre ordered mine as well. Unfortunately mine should arrive in 3 ~ 7 days after 15/5. Boo and hiss!! However the retail version is much cheaper than the digital version, can you believe that? So no complain for me then.

I'll be playing at the US server, probably USeast or something similar to that. See you guys there!

So... Been thinking of how much I'm looking forward to this game and thought - "You know who else is probably looking forward to it as well? The team at IW!" I keep pretty odd hours so if you guys decide on a US server I'd be keen to stop by!

I can't BELIEVE they don't have headset group chat.... thats insane these days... hell, need for speed has it for gods sake.

Yeah, we'll have to go with vent or TS for sure.

I did play the beta, lets ya level to 13 I think... forget.. but the leveling up part is kinda dumbed down a bit more. which is sad, but there are other areas that make up for it.

I'm getting it tomorrow morning!! Will post the server info!

I tried Vent for Old Republic and couldn't figure out how it works. :o Teamspeak was easier when I tried it a year ago.

I think I have a mumble server with room for 15 people. But I never really tried it either. It came free with my minecraft server.

Note: I can barely speak any english. Some people write english as they speak it. That's why they end up with phrases like "Your life is at steak". Me I speak english as I write it, so I even try pronouncing the silent letters. ;)

Vent's pretty simple - you install it, just make sure you pick the right input/output device so it works. You can create keybinds to talk to specific people only (e.g. your co-raid leads etc). I had to have it when I was raid leading in WoW so I could yell at the fuckers who weren't doing what they were supposed to do :D

Well, I actually got in last night... the servers were down for a long time.

Anyway, HOW do you choose a server for D3? I looked, but it just says 'Americas'.
Lemme know how--I'll dig around for it too. I am level 11 now, and go by Ziroc#1611

Should I use steam? (for match making?)

My battletag is Manlor#1167. I'm not sure if there are actual servers anymore.

I installed ventrilo a couple months ago, spoke in my microphone while holding the appropriate key and nothing happened. The interface isn't very good in my opinion and I couldn't figure out how to fix my problem.

Couldnt resist...downloading guest version as we speak, so i can at least check out and see for myself if it's worth it to spend 50€ on. Battletag is Dawgxx #2623, however i doubt i will end up playing on a US server. Half the people on my real ID list in WoW are playing it as well, and we are considering setting up a guild like in WoW, if that's even possible, so it's only natural i play with the people i've been playing in WoW with for the last few years.

We'll see how things go.

I'm so pissed off right now. Some customer service girl call my handphone and ask me for my verification. I asked her why she only call me now since I preordered days ago. She said it's a company policy and to prevent other people from using my info. She also said they will only deliver my order after I have verify it. Well all hell broke lose and I went berserk on her. I think I can hear her cry over the phone.

Looks like I'll be getting my copy much later.

Is it even possible for me to play on a US server? I mean i remember bringing an American friend onto the EU realm where i play, but i had to get her the copy here and give her the code, she wouldnt have been able to play on the EU realms if she bought her copy at home.

No problem! :) Each game came with 3-4 guest passes. I'm level 27 right now.. and had to take a day off due to my hand acting up. The Diablo Forum will be up in a few days btw.. just been playing it too much lol...

Looks like some mass hacking is going on. Until Blizz fix this, the advice is don't ever create/join a public game.

I'm not too worried about the mass hacking. At least I don't believe all the rumors. Some people say that just with your name they can bypass the login screen and directly get on your character. I don't believe that. It's more likely people are just brute-forcing your password, in my opinion.

Or maybe someone released a fake tool that's really a keylogger. I wouldn't be surprised if some noob downloaded a "diablo 3 trainer" and got hacked that way. That would explain why the hacked accounts reports are so vague. You wouldn't brag about it either.

I bought a security key anyway. I'm pretty sure that'll protect me.

if you have a WOW Authenticator, then you can use it for Diablo III as well.. It adds a great secondary security. :)

Wish I liked the game more or I would. I really don't get why this game is supposed to be good and think if wasn't named Diablo III and put out by Blizzard it would be already a has been game.

Actually, a lot of the people that get hacked were naive enough to visit a site advertised by those goldsellers in WoW, if u go to one of those sites, u will get a keylogger and the next day your chars are stripped clean of all their belongings, and with a little bad luck ur account got banned by Blizz because the hackers rolled 40 or 50 lvl 1 chars to advertise their sites all over again, which leaves you explaining to Blizz that it wasnt you who did this and all that jazz which makes the process of getting back control of your own account take even longer than usual. Security keys arent bulletproof either, a friend of mine was using an authenticator and still got hacked. I's say that roughly 30% of all the people in my guild have been hacked once or twice in all the time they have been playing now, almost every week someone new falls victim to those scumbags.

Same here, i have been playing a while, went to level 8, and already got bored with the game. The simple click and go system is something i have done enough in one lifetime, i am really looking for something more challenging. I was playing a starters account, but i am definitely not going to upgrade it, it's simply not worth the 50€ imo.

I'll have to agree with LoA and Johnny.

I've played up until Act II in Nightmare and tbh, apart from the graphics and the crafting system, everything else got worse since Diablo II. And even the graphics are not that good with today's standards...

The skill system is way too simple and loses a lot of D2 complexity. You no longer get to distribute stat points. It's as if the game has been dumbed down. It has also lost the feel of the world that D1 and D2 built up and feels very much like you're just being led through the game.

You get quest objectives which don't make any sense... How should you know you have to go to point X after point Y? Half the fun in the previous games was not knowing what was to come. And now you know of half the bosses that you will fight hours in advance (or you can just look through the achievements and spoil yourself the whole story...). The betrayal in Act II was so very predictable that the bad writing just hurt...

There is no challenge at all in normal. The only challenge in Nightmare so far have been mortar bosses, and those only until you figure out that the mortar attacks have a minimum distance so you can cancel them out by moving close in. I don't mind being able to kill things, but this is ridiculously easy. There are some serious difficulty curve issues.

The Witch Doctor also seems way too powerful. You just sit back and shoot away at enemies while you hide behind a seemingly unending supply of summoned minions that very rarely can the monsters kill. Speaking of followers and minions...they're stupid. They'll walk through any pool of poison, wall of flame, etc, committing suicide very effectively. While I'd understand zombie dogs being this stupid, wouldn't a templar be intelligent enough to walk the extra two steps around the slimy pool of poison once the battle is done?

The only challenge so far comes from lag killing you. I know how to do the Butcher, I know how to dodge his claw pulling me in, how to let him hit the wall etc...but I'll just die as he draws me into a fiery lagdeath.

Not sure whether it's just the EU servers or not, but lag in what is in name a single player game is horrible. I see why they did it, but they most definitely do not have the right infrastructure up even two weeks after launch.

Not to be all negative, the crafting system is actually quite good and would stand very well on its own Thing is you can get better items for cheaper in the auction house, which competes with the crafting system. Why would you want to spend all that money on upgrading the blacksmith to lvl 10 when for the same amount of gp you can buy your gear in the auction house...

All in all I don't regret buying the game. I'm down to under 1€/h and as a cost that's not all that bad. Certainly cheaper than going to the cinema...

Then again I don't see myself playing the game any more in a year's time, whereas I feel I might still dust off D2 or even D1 out of nostalgia. Titan Quest, which came out six years ago still sees regular playtime too and will probably do so for much longer than D3.

Anyone having problems logging on or joining game right now after the patch? I had to problem solve as my launcher kept hanging after the patch, I managed to bypass that, but now I can't join a game even though I can select Heroes etc.
