Cloudy's Cafe, a conversation zone, Sept.23, 2011

Previous Cafe is

Cloudy's Cafe

Come in, be welcome, be comfortable, be yourself

Welcome to Cloudy's Cafe, a place to have a cup of coffee or a good
darjeeling and the finest in conversation and camaraderie.

The proprietor asks that you follow a few simple guidelines:

this is a real conversation zone, not a role-play zone

* no flaming; if you disagree with a viewpoint expressed by any patron, please do so in a civil manner

* any topic is fair game, but keep posts to the standards that Ziroc has set for the entire forum, please (ie: foul language is not appropriate and things should be suitable for all audiences)
-a side note from Cloudy: I see this as a place for those short
conversations about a new baby or the latest soccer fiasco, not for things that are big enough to warrant their own threads, by all means give those things the space they need and post separately!

* Please, no one word or smiley posts (Ziroc has declared them 'real spam' and the proprietor doesn't want the reputuation of "good spam" to suffer!)

* do feel free to be serious or silly and enjoy the company of others while you are here. By all means POST if you have something to say, even to start another topic , we can handle multiple chats, we're a CAFE!!! But be courteous and don't disrupt a conversation just to disrupt it.

Come on in! The bar is stocked with coffees, teas, juices and waters from around the world. And purple napkins, of course!

The lighting is low, the golden oak counters and tables glow with inviting warmth. Near the window, the lighting is brighter, as comfy, plush leather armchairs wait for those who'd like to read a book while relaxing to music or just lazily watch the world go by.

Hello everyone! I've been away for a while coping with some health issues and helping a dear friend with hers. My best friend was diagnosed with breast cancer in the spring and is still going through chemo, but the odds are excellent that it won't re-occur, thaqnk God! As for me, I recently found out I'm diabetic and am getting acclimated to dealing with that. So the Cafe is offering low carb and sugar free goodies now, too! ;)

Bad luck on the diabetes, our thoughts are with you. And fingers crossed for your friend :)
*dusts off m&m dispenser* ahh, I'd missed this...

LOL @ Wellard's post! Yes, he's very willing to take those out for me! :) He's being incredibly supportive with all this.

Thanks Wolf Rider 2, It's alot to take in all at once, but so far I'm coping ok. Lots of family/friends for support.

M&M's and low carb cookies on the house!

*wanders over to the Endless M&M Machine (TM), tinkers*

There. Flipped the low-carb sugar-free dispenser switch. And because it's magic, they still taste good :)

Greetz, all :)

*sigh* really wishing stores were in more of a hiring mood. It's a vicious circle. Stores aren't hiring because no one is spending. People aren't spending because no one is hiring. And no, I don't think the housing market is the answer to our problems. Trust in the housing market is what caused the situation to begin with.

Amber, just wanted to wish you a very happy birthday! :) You're what? 20 now? :D :D

I'll be 39 Oct 21st... this year seem to go by so fast. (And I'm STILL in a damn full arm cast.) ughhhhhhhhhhh.... it IS healing, just takes longer for the scaphoid to heal due to the lack of blood flow to the fractured area. YEY!!! lol

Anyway, Have a good one!!! Do something fun!!!

JEEEEEZ,

I seem to have a habit of abandoning these forums for 6 months at a time. Then, just when I think it might be safe, I wander back and see you lot still hanging around ;)

Genuinely, It's nice to see the same old members still on here. It's odd how a familiar screen name can be comforting. Cloudy! Ziroc! Bungleau! You're all here :) Oddly enough, Wellard came up in conversation for me not two days ago! I remember quoting to my girlfriend 'How 'ard? Well'ard!' and having a giggle to myself.

I recently started posting on another forum, my first in a LONG time, and it made me think of you guys. So...

HELLO ALL!

That said, by the end of this week I should be drawing a paycheck from either Dollar Tree or Walgreens. Nothing glamorous, but better than unemployed by far. Besides, I like retail work. Walgreens is the more likely of the two, I think.

Update: As of this monday, I'm officially employed. Hooray!!! Starting at minimum wage, and it's only seasonal. But, seasonal can lead to regular, or worst case, it's at least a more recent reference than three years ago.

Everyone has to start somewhere. Minimum wage seasonal employment is still better than no employment.

Just thought I'd stop in and say hi, if anyone remembers me from back in the day!

I am still alive and kicking (and gaming!) and just fancied saying hello to anyone that remembers me from days gone by :)

Wow I didnt realise this place was still going, I dont think I've visited Ironworks since the days of Baldur's gate!

Anyway I just accidentally found the site again, most of you probabally dont remember me but I recognise a few names from the old days, just thought I'd drop a line and say hi whilst I was here, for old times sake.

And of all the funny coincidences it looks like I'm not the only one to make a return today. I remember you Epona or at least I recognise your name.

Hi Daniel. I actually met Epona in person years ago, a great gal and a blast to hang out with. Haven't seen her online in ages though. Maybe someday though. That is what I like about Ironworks, it stays online so sometimes people return after many years.

On another note, blah I can't sleep tonight. Waiting and waiting to get tired. So far not happenin. Luckily I took tomorrow off so OK. Maybe I'll read a boring book LOL. :)

And if you have facebook look me up or message me here with your FB details. Love to hear from you again after all these years. My life is totally different now than when we used to chat LOL.

Really starting to appreciate how much my family and close friends mean to me. We've had an awful weekend, with my best friend's mum dying of cancer. Horrific end, really...

Hoping that all on here are well, and are enjoying the beginning of the Christmas season.

Re: Cloudy's Cafe, a conversation zone, Sept.23, 2011

So, I've decided to upgrade my desktop rather than get a laptop. At least, for the time being. Got a 500w power supply to replace the old 250w supply that it came with. And my new video card is on the way. In my digging around I found some 1000w and even 2000w supplies, and I'm left wondering what kind of home system would call for that much power?

On a side note, I was biking to work a couple weeks ago and I managed to snap my rear axel. $60 to replace the wheel.

Loving my job, still wishing I was making more money/hours, but I'm still only several months new there. I may consider taking some business/management courses at somepoint. I really enjoy the retail environment, but if I want to make any kind of living doing this, I need to get at least some kind of lower management position.

Howdy folks. Been a long time since I posted on any forums - Cloudy, there's another one I ought to go visit...

What did I do with my time? Finished my education, got a professional job, moved on to another one, bought a house, fell in love, got married and have a baby on the way. Great time to start wasting time online, right? Yeah, it's something to do when I can't sleep.

Hope everyone is hanging in there.
