Flemeth
What do I have to do to kill Flemeth? Morrigan asked me if I would, and I said yes, but then I went back there and the hut was shut up and locked. No Flemeth.
|
Re: Flemeth
Hmm, she should be there, maybe save, and reload to check it.
|
Re: Flemeth
Flemeth won't show up if you have Morrigan in your party. She told you she wanted to stay at camp while you do the deed.
|
Re: Flemeth
I decided not to undertake that task - seemed kind of twisted and Electra-complexy in a fantasy-freudian type of way. ;)
Might have to do it in my next playthrough though! Let's know if it's worth it! |

SPOILER ALERT
>| > > > > > > > > > DO NOT Read beyond this point if you don't want to be spoiled You don't Have to Kill Flemeth leave Morrigan at Camp and go to her hut and she is standing just out side the hut tell her what your want and she will give you the choice of just take the book or fight and unless your all above lvl 70 have her give you the book of spells and she will tell you that she will avoid Morrigan until later in life and will maybe someday pop in and say high. Other wise she turns into a Giant Dragon God about Lvl 95 and kills everybody end of game. She can shoot fireballs out at you like a Machine Gun with major area explosions and Fire Damage. TCB |
Re: Flemeth
What?! I don't know what game you played but my version of Dragon Age has a level cap of 25.
|
Re: Flemeth
Go fight Her in Dragon Form you will see what I mean. when your leven 12 all the dragons may as well be lvl 2000 for what good it does to fight them. Still the same old stick in the mud Moderators

SPOILER She's pretty weak compared to real dragons. I beat her at level 10 and the high dragon at level 12 on my first play through. Yes they can be hard if you're unprepared. But just because these encounters are hard doesn't mean everyone should pick the easy way out and betray Morrigan. It also doesn't mean you have to wait until you are three times above the level cap before giving it a try. It's just an elite boss encounter. It balance to your level to a point, meaning she could for example be anywhere from around level 12 to 20 depending on your level. :p |
Re: Flemeth
Ah, come on TCB, she's no where near as tough as the Red on lvl 5 of Undermountain, and she won't heal when she's almost dead.
|
Re: Flemeth
I beat her, she's tough but wasn't as bad as I expected. Used a lot of healing though!
|
Re: Flemeth
Yeah beat her as well, Only had one party Death, With Wynn Healing, Leliana providing some Ranged attacks and Me (Arcane Warior) & Shale Tanking we had no issues beside Lelianna taking a stray fireball full on.
Helped I had my anti-fire gear handy and managed to Petrify her once which took some pressure off. |
Re: Flemeth
Any tips on handling Flemeth in dragon form? I've got Leilana for ranged attacks, main char as mage specialising in primal spells, Sten (he has Yusari, 2H sword that does extra dmg vs dragons + Juggernaut armour), Wynne (heal + some offensive spells).
|
Re: Flemeth
Arrow of Slaying can give you a lucky hit.
What level are you? I've managed to Freeze/Petrify her which helps. Storm of the Centry also can help against her. |
Re: Flemeth
It was a touch and go thing. By the end of the fight I had 3 characters down and only Sten left. But Flemeth was also down to a sliver of health & somehow she keeled over. Disappointed that Sten didn't get the killing blow, her health was being whittled away by a spell my mage had cast that does damage over time (can't remember what it was).
|
Re: Flemeth
My game must be bugged. Flemeth just stand there and let me pound her to death. Easiest boss kill ever!

Re: Flemeth
I had the same experience as Kakero. This fight was amazingly easy. Admittedly I took it at level 14 though, just after doing Orzammar.
Sten and Oghren engaged in melee, whilst Leliana supported with missile fire and my PC Blood mage provided spell/staff power. It started out looking nasty, with my mage taking a fireball - but a stunning attack from Sten seemed to stop her dead in her tracks and she just stood there, taking damage before meekly falling. I think overall the dragon fights are quite pathetic compared to Baldur's Gate II. Here's to hoping the spectral dragon will be a longer, more epic arduous challenge, come Awakenings. |
Re: Flemeth
What are your "options" "difficulty levels". I had to back off from nightmare to hard, and even then lost two, "Shale" being one of them.
|
Re: Flemeth
Wow, i probably should go give her a good whuppin. I just took the book, wasn't really lookin foreward to killin her. But i did that much later in the game, so my levels were almost as high as they would go. As soon as i get my xbox fixed im sooooooo gonna kill her. Do you get anything cool from it?
|
Re: Flemeth
^ I don't remember getting much (if anything) in the way of loot besides the grimoire, maybe one or two low level items, but that makes sense from a plot perspective of her being a forest-dwelling semi-nomadic "nutty old bat" despite her awesome powers, if that makes sense. She's not sitting on a hoard of treasure or anything.

Re: Flemeth
Personally I don't think it would have been that hard a fight if I knew what I was going to be facing. I thought OK time to go face off with this little spell caster and sure she may have some nasty spells but thats all part and parcel of the deal.
Then all of a sudden....WHAM have a giant dragon trying to rip your head off. I think it was more the surprise then anything that made it hard to wonder what the hell to do. In saying that she did go down the first time I fought her but only after a lot of healing and slamming back the potions. Along with the brood mother, I found her the hardest single target encounter in the vanilla game. |
Re: Flemeth
First time I played through Dragon Age I avoided This site and every other cheat site on the Net. So when I went against Flemeth I had no Idea what was ahead of me when I refused to take the book and leave at level 7 almost 8 and as I said you have no chance against her with the dog the X- Priestess/Thief from the bar in the first town and the caged prisoner. Found to be the 3 most useless characters in the game so far.
Since I was just playing the game for the first time and not using all the cheats or for warnings from other players I had no Idea and wasn't repaired for the Flemeth Dragon and in just seconds my team and I were Hamburger on the floor. Since I never read or use any cheats about any game until after I've beaten the game what ever it may be 100% 0n my own. I had no idea what was coming and that you need to be above lvl 10 with a much better team another thing 4 players at level 8 is a level 32 team in my way of playing. Don't believe me Luvain go solo Flemeth at level 15 and tell me just how long you last as you get smashed in 30 seconds. But go after her with 4 level 15 that's 60 Lvl's against a lvl 30 Dragon. Since all Video games are based on Mathematics then the actual team level at lvl 25 is 100 and not 25 unless your soloing the game. In order to over come Flemeth you would need at least double or close to double her level to acquire enough hit points to over power her or have 4 team members with a better power base with the right skills and levels but at level 8 a single fire ball from the Flemeth Dragon will rip 90% of your power base off all four team members and with only 4 healing potions I didn't last more than a few seconds. one last thing There is no such thing as Dragons so Real Dragons don't exist and big lizards off the coast of chili don't count as real Dragons. Re: Flemeth
Interested to know how you got Morigans approval level up high enough at level 7 for her to give you that personal Quest to kill Flemeth. Usually I don't hit that point up until I have taken Morigan though the Mage tower to get the Grimoire at least to get her aproval high enough. At that point you and your party should be at least Level 10 with Wynn, Leilanna, Sten, Alister & Dog at your disposal.
Normally you would also do the earl of Redcliffe before this as well giving you plently to time to hit a higher level if you are actually following the story. Also my Arcane Warrior did Solo Flemeth at Level 16 so close enough! But why are we bringing in a Solo discusssion since this is a team game? Why are your team members so close together that a fireball would take out all of them? |
Re: Flemeth
Actually, you can end up "in the tent" with Morrigan on the first trip to camp, depending on your dialog choices both in camp and in Lothering.
|
Re: Flemeth
But does that still get her approval high enough to release that quest? You still need to get Flemeths Book from the Mage Tower before that will even unlock.
|
Re: Flemeth
I think the book from the Circle does unlock that, but since there's no set order, it's possible to get it early. It's been a while since I've played from the beginning, so I don't know what level ranges I was in when I did do the tower first.

Re: Flemeth
All I remember getting was the grimoire and a robe of Morrigan's (only she can wear it- good mage robe, though!)
