One More For The Road

Well, I have finally completed my Female Dalish Elf Ranger/Bard, which makes her the second completion after my Male Dwarf Commoner Assassin/Duelist. Now that I have a rough idea on how the game works, I'm making a Male Elf-Mage Blood Mage this time, and I plan to be as ruthless as possible...

Time to see how much of a Crapsack World I can make Fereldan into...

Cheers.

You completed the game twice over? Or, do you mean the origins? Just wondering 'cuz if it is the game, then man I am slacking.

The entire game, plus DLCs.

Origins wise, not counting gender and race, I have already completed all of them.

Cheers.

Yer slackin'. I have finished twice, and have a party poised to finish Orz and then it's finish time. I have the last party I need for the finding all possible endings running as well.

Finished once well on my way to twice. Will start the 3rd time after more DLC is available.

My god, just this week I finally settled on an origin and class. Barely did Wardens Keep and finished up in Lothering.

Bah! I have 6 games and am playing them simultaneously. Doing each areas 6 times in a row is... special.

Re: One More For The Road

Well i've tried all class and origin combos. It was a tight race between dwarf rogue and human warrior but finally I settled for Human Noble Warrior with a big, dirty 2-hander. I just did the Stone Prisoner DLC, and finished Wardens Keep. I must say the DLC's are more than I expected, and I think, worth the money. Shale pwns Alistair as a tank too.

Shale and Sten have lots of banter and it's interesting too. They're a good match.

I'm with you, Cloudy ;). I've finished through once, although I think I missed quite a few side quests. The house is still clean and Tuppy isn't saying she's neglected. However, my TV commitments have been badly affected.

Ah, the good old days, when I could have a full time job and still finish Baldur's Gate more times than anyone here... :P

Not an issue now, vacations are overrated, and I can attest to that fully, having been on one for almost 5 years now. So, taking an average 40 hour work week out of the equation, I have lots of time..

Shale is AWESOME!!! ( for one thing his insanely high constitution makes him a powerhouse of health ) the other thing is the talents.

I am slacking big time though....got level 14 on my mage and stopped playing to bring up a rogue - and now I am bringing up a warrior ( gonna make him beserker ) and then I decided to stop that and start my first bloodmage *sigh*

That's not something to boast about, lol.

Even before I was disabled, I had no life. Of course, it helped that my GF at the time was on her computer trying to catch up. One of the cutest things I ever saw her grandson do was, at just a bit under a year old, he was at my computer, which was turned off, with one hand on the mouse, and another on the space bar. I can't imagine where he might have learned that... :P

So what are the thoughts on the length of the game? Is it a good amount of playing, or just a run through?

robertthebard 12-12-2009 10:14 PM

Re: One More For The Road

It depends, really, on how easily sidetracked you are. I would imagine that it could be done relatively quickly, 30 hours or so, if you skip a lot of the side quests. I have 41 hours in my current game, and I just started the elven stuff. I have finished Orzammar, got the Circle done, and still have to go after the Urn to finish Redcliffe. I have, however, finished all but Alistair and Morrigan's side quests, and am working on Wynne's while in the forest. I still have a substantial amount of game left, but most of the Chantry Board quests, and the merc group's board quests are done, just have to get into the Alienage. I can see how it could easily get into 80ish hours, if I pursue every side quest I see.

LOL I'm slacking too, playing my first toon still - I reckon I'm about 30% of the way through it. I'm in no rush though.

Re: One More For The Road

I have just completed the Landsmeet for the third time. I'd forgotten how long it took to build up to that climax, and had planned on finishing the game, for the third time, last night. My other party is on it's last treaty. I have two endings left to get all of them, and I already know which party is doing which one. I did all the set up for this particular party during the Landsmeet, so Anora will be able to rest easy. I also unlocked the Easily Sidetracked achievement this time. There are a lot of sidequests...

Re: One More For The Road

Bah you guys are lucky. I haven't even had the time to finish the game once yet. :p

robertthebard 12-16-2009 03:46 PM

Re: One More For The Road

61:53 to finish, getting at least 75% of the side quests done, and getting the ending I wanted with no reloads for the ending, Leliana died right at the end. :( Other than that, yay.
