Michael Jackson has Died.

www.cnn.com

Whoa... They are saying it's not confirmed on CNN TV Though...

Re: Michael Jackson has died?!?!

Some places are saying he is dead, a few others are saying he is just in a coma.

Re: Michael Jackson has died?!?!

That is shocking.

Publicity stunt or for real - either way who cares

wellard 06-25-2009 07:12 PM

Re: Michael Jackson has died?!?!

Looks like one less kiddy fiddler on the loose.

"Michael Jackson was pronounced dead by doctors this afternoon after arriving at a hospital in a deep coma, city and law enforcement sources told The Times," The LA Times newspaper said on its website.

From the ABC (Australia)

Re: Michael Jackson has died?!?!

10-20 years ago, people would have been greatly upset. He just got a little too... weird.

Also, NBC confirmed the death.

hmm... seems I was a little slow on the reply there. Wellard beat me to the confirmation.

...they're still selling tickets for his UK concerts.

Re: Michael Jackson has died?!?!

Wow, that's a shock. Regardless of his freakish behaviour and bizzarre/questionable relationships, we owe him a salute for the music he brought us. To this day nightclubs still play dance versions of his songs that get the whole crowd up. I will miss him because he was an icon, at one point anyways.

Ive heard of comeback concerts before - but this I will have to see :)

Re: Michael Jackson has died?!?!

I dunno, some places still say coma, some still say dead at his house.

Sounds like a bit too much confusion so i'm leaning towards fake for now.

Will still be sad if it's the case.

I mean, c'mon......

He made Thriller!

Not denying his talent - and I always felt sorry for his mental problems and the pressure of growing up in public.

But a kiddy fiddler is a kiddy fiddler - no loss to the human race seeing them die. It's well known I do not support the death penalty for any crime - but I ain't going to cry over this guy passing away.

Luvian 06-25-2009 08:04 PM

Re: Michael Jackson has died?!?!

This is definitely not fake. He did get a cardiac arrest. But is he dead or in a coma? Apparently he has been declared dead now.

He was never found guilty of child abuse. Yeah he was messed up in the end but I'm not going to believe unproven accusations just because he was strange and it was fun to hate on him.

He has cancelled all upcoming dates. This includes Timmy (age 11, saturday) and Bobby (age 9 monday)

Re: Michael Jackson has died?!?!

He was never found guilty of child molestation so, all this is heresay or assumption really. After the family of the child (who's mother insisted no worngdoing by Jackson) got 22 million in cash they shut up. Case was thrown out for lack of evidence. Same with the other one. While I will never know the truth, I think at least one of these cases were an effort by some cunning people to gain cash. And when they got it, they stopped bitching.

Sadly, Farrah Fawcett has passed away, losing a long battle against cancer.

That sucks too, she fought hard though and it was nice to see her partner married her on her death bed.

Seems like its celeb death day today

Re: Michael Jackson has died?!?!

..just watching it on TV.

Farrah deserves her own thread though..

I don't think that, given all that Jackson had done to himself, that he would have had a long life.

Earlier this week Ed McMahon (sp?) also died, though, he was 86 and had numerous heath issues, so that wasn't surprising.

Was a big fan circa 1985. 6th grade would not have been the same without MJ. Had talent that eventually became sorta lost behind being a public oddity. The episode of Southpark where it was spoofed him moving there remains one of the best, Ignorant! I hope his funeral has a 50 ft tall silver statue like that video. Farewell!

The urban legend of famous people dying in 3s lives!!!!!!

Re: Michael Jackson has Died.

A sad day for the industry..I'm sure he'll be elevated to even greater hights now, after all thats what seems to happen when icons die. Not gonna benefit him much, but may he rest in peace.

And I don't necessarily approve of people so confidently saying he's a child abuser. As has been said on this thread, it was never proved. Anyone can be accused for anything, and in this case, most people don't care about facts, but run along with the mob waving their torches and pitchforks. But fact remains, he was rich, he was odd, and thus vulnerable to such accusations. Doesn't make him guilty though.

Re: Michael Jackson has Died.

Irrespective of Jacko's personal life, he was a huge part of my childhood and adolescence - my first ever vinyl album as a child was Thriller. I grew up listening to his music, through the releases through the 80s and 90, and along the way I rediscovered some of the older disco classics like Off The Wall. The music world has lost a great performer and entertainer. Ditto for Farrah Fawcett. We lost two icons of our childhood today. :(

They didn't end up getting married. It was too late, because she was slipping in and out of consciousness at the time of death.

Michael Jackson was considered a child in his mind. I mean, hell, he even said they were the only ones who really understood him. He just never grew up. Plus, he was a musical genius. Show some respect, and leave your unwarranted bigotry at the door, please.

RIP to both of them.

None specifically. Just a general statement to his mental state. Society as a whole is just too hellbent on convicting a man who just never developed mentally, in my opinion.

He certainly was an enigma.

I honestly felt nothing but sadness for him over the last 15 years.

Does anyone think that there's even a tiny chance of this being staged?

I didnt respect him while he was alive, I'm sure as hell not going to start respecting him while dead.

Got an update from the fellas at work today. It appears California will cremate MJ, many engineers and scientists will be on hand to recreate him from his plastic and "other" matter content into "Lego" blocks. This will allow future generations of children to reverse the anguish that many were exposed to at "The Ranch". Marketing is still toying with the thrilling details which will certainly turn ABCs into a dancing machine, mama's pearl, touch.

I overheard a variation of this at work today. They were planning to turn it into play-doh.

I think it's probably best that he died youngish, with his deteriorating health and all. I couldn't imagine him at sixty or seventy.

Well how about respecting his grieving fans by not throwing around unproven accusations while they are trying to deal with the death of one of their idol? He's dead, it's not him you are affecting with these accusations.

I just LOVE how Jesse Jackson and Al "Lets bring race into everything" Sharpton didn't waste any time jumping into the media trying to steal the show.. Especially Sharpton. HE'S a racist. He makes everything about race, when many times it has nothing to do with it.. Both are kinda media whores. :idontagreeatall:

I just love how the media hounded him daily yet do nothing but pay tribute to him when he dies. It was very similiar to Princess Diana. The paparazzi were chasing her at the time of her death and they were all "We loved her so much" when she died. Wtf? You didn't love her, she enabled you to have a job and you loved that enough to harass her and make a career out of stalking her.

Here, they're all paying tribute to him and the star he was etc. Yet, they made money ridiculing him, turning some serious charges into a circus act and then jumping all over it the second time 'round. The hypocrisy of it all sickens me. Like or dislike him, but don't say you did when you did not, and use him as a cash-cow for your newspaper and/or channel/website. Even the pics they post now are all "good" pics of him. They're older, when his face didn't look so odd. But, they had no problem putting them up for the last 10 years and then, in the same breath they say how much of an icon he was.
