FireFox 3 haters

I received one of those 'spams' today, and clicked the link, then clicked the "why" link, here is the answer. I would think it would be the same for those of you on that OS from Redmond version as well.

IE happens to have phishing protection (link)

So does Google Chrome (link)

So does Opera (link)

As did FF2 until they arbitrarily decided to remove it...

Yes, however, how many threads are here complaining about those vs FF3?

That was my point, for those that might not yet know, or who do not get the ability to click the "why" link, as in my experience here, it has yet to be shown. Hopefully now, all of the "I hate FF3" threads can move along.

My hate FF3 thread was about the "forced upgrade" due to the removal of phishing protection from FF2...and other issues which aren't in the scope of this thread.

I wasn't aware there were many "I hate >insert OS name here<" threads at all. Only one remotely like that is what dplax mentioned.

I was perfectly happy with my FF2 until they decided to remove features of it through automatic updates...now I suffer FF3...

Pardon my ignorance; what exactly are these things? I mean are they the operating systems as in “windows” or something that is added to ones current OS? And should I have one to keep my computer safe?

As far as I am aware all I have are the basic protections that come with widows and the McAfee that came with Comcast when I first signed up with them about 6 months ago.

Firefox, Chrome, & Opera are internet browsers, like Microsoft's Internet Explorer. They have features and/or improved security that make them superior to IE in some fashion. The extra security might be just because IE is so popular that it's the target for most malware attacks, but as long as it helps...
