i got the rainbow colored sotne called a rogue stone and it says it does a gemjump spell. what doe sthis mean and can iactually us eit or is it just bullcrap?

No, no, you can use it, but it's only in one area of the game. If you want me to tell you where, then just say the word.

Well, it's not a "spell" persay, but it does teleport you somewhere remember Pirengle? [img]tongue.gif[/img]

The gempump is a magical sealing/teleport spell. Rogue stones are used to enable them.

My end-of-the-game party was destroyed by that group in the place where the gem takes you. Maybe that was 'cuz it was my first time through... But oh well :D .

on a trapped door in the bridge district, same building as one of the liches with the golden body parts (shadow lich I believe) just north of the building the "man in red" was using as a hide out. quicksave your game before using the stone, as the autosave will take place after the gem is gone, and if you need to go back in you will be unable to without using ANOTHER Rogue Stone.

i also found out if you sell them to preist you get almost 1000 more gp ;)

I've only ever done that once... and man-o-man did I get my arse handed to me... If I remember correctly, I got so fustrated I cheated to win just so I could get the goods and leave. I'm trying without cheating this time through tho. I'm predicting the outcome won't be much different... :/

take out the Beholder first (the most effective way to do so is to bean out 6-7 skull traps to the place it will show up), also cast a ADHW to the place Layene would show up (once she died instantly because her perfection spells weren't effective yet) and let summons to hang with Shangalar just long enough for the party to take out the annoying fighter and vampire. Finally concentrate on killing Shangalar since Layene moves quite slowly, especially more often than not she will need to fight with the pit fiend she herslef summons^^

well...with OC knowledge, it could be an easy fight (I don't know how to do it without any preparation though)

also, if you have ToB installed, this fight could be a cake walk (the spolier is in ToB fourm)
