Vote now wether your old enough or not!

Kerry, for now. I would have preferred Dean if he didn't turn out to be undiplomatic. And in the long run, I feel sorry for Nader. I would have been proud to call him my president someday, but as it is now people hate him, and it'll probably never happen.
But as I lull myself to sleep tonight, I'll dream of President Howard Dean, Vice President Ralph Nader, and wonder what might have been.

Kerry and Howie, somehow having men called Bush and Dick running the most powerful country in the world doesn't appeal to me.

I would have voted for Cobb but he wasn´t an option

Aerich 08-16-2004 02:02 PM

I'm not going to vote, for the simple reason that I'm not eligible. Also not sure how either of them view Canada or intend to treat us, so I can't really say I have a preference based on that. Both of them seem open to a degree of protectionism in trade.

I dislike Bush's foreign policy, but I really don't know how Kerry will jump - the known vs. the unknown. If pressed, I suppose I'd go Kerry, but I don't feel I have that much of a stake in the election, although it may turn out afterward that I did.

Edit: it would be interesting to see what Nader could/would do, but I'd prefer to find out without having to vote him in. Actually, I feel that way about all potential leaders - maybe we need a trial period; everybody gets two months to show their stuff...

LOL ... that may have been an old joke but it is the first time I realised that

If those outside the USA could vote i doubt even George 'i stand for democrocy' Bush would be able to fix the poll for another win ;)

Oblivion437 08-16-2004 08:06 PM

He didn't fix the polls last time...

Besides, I wouldn't want Islamo-Fascists and known terrorists voting in an election, especially one where my future is at stake.

I'll vote for Badnarik, and I'll use my voter registration card to give Hillary Klin-Ton a series of vicious paper cuts.

Timber Loftis 08-16-2004 08:40 PM

You better watch out Oblivion, Ms. Klin-Ton may get the chance to be president one day, and I believe there are a fair number of us who would support her.

I don't know how I'll vote. Since Kerry WILL win in my state, my delimma is do I cast my vote for him as I normally would or do I use it to make a statement.

But, if I didn't live in the People's Democratic Republic of Illinois, I'd vote for Kerry, especially in a swing state. He's the only one with a chance to win, and while I'd prefer to do some things differently, in the meantime I'd just like to get Bush out of office. Bush is killing my line of work. It's that simple.

I can argue about the issues all day long (hate the Patriot Act, but don't like the Brady bill either, hate giveaways to both the rich and the poor, hate terrorists but hate going to Iraq, etc., etc.). But at the end of the day I vote my pocketbook. And, in environmental law, I have to go with anybody but Bush. If no one is enforcing environmental law, my clients don't need me. Hey, I like my clients, but not THAT much. (Ummm... I do *like* enforcing environmental law on a philosophical level as well -- the *is* a reason I went into this line of work.)

So, join with me fellow IWF'ers, and vote to put America on a No-C.A.R.B.* diet!!

* C.A.R.B. = Cheney, Ashcroft, Rumsfeld, & Bush. ;)
