Posting system specs are always helpful if you'd like a definitive answer. Right now however you cannot run the game. It sounds to me that either you have video built into your system, either case your video probably doesn't have enough memory to play the game. One chance of hope is if there is a video driver update available for your card that will enable you to raise the color spectrum.

Yes, the video is built into my computer. The salesman made it sound like that it meant that I would never need a card, darn him. Well, I guess this puppy goes back to Amazon. You guys have fun.

Galadria, don't give up yet... there may be a way to use your current video setup through tweaking, or even at worst, a suitable 3d card for this game can be purchased for about $100.00.
I would hate to see you miss out on this, as you enjoy role-playing so much, and this game is simply the best RPG I have seen. For that matter, I still have a Geforce 256 I'll sell you for $30.00, just so you can play... |
Yes depending on the system, you can possibly disable the onboard video via a jumper pin on the board and then install a video card...provided there is an agp slot on the board.
|
Gee, I dunno. Piestrider and I installed a video card on his puter, but I don't know about the slot thingie. Let me talk to Piestrider.

Too bad about the on-board video. It's great when it's compatible, top-of-the-line or at least a previous generation. I can barely play the game on my computer as far as "system specs" go regarding video.
However, the on-board sound was ESS and that was not compatible with DirectX 8.1. I added a Hercules Game Theater XP to my computer and it's much better. However, I've decided to add a whole new computer to my computer... Which really means I'm building one... If you have a budget and you're going to return the computer to Amazon I can help you with either a build-your-own spec-out, or point you into some middle-of-the-road specs. |
they make some pretty decent nvidia cards for pci slots too you know, that may be an option. i got my parents a 64mb geforce2mx for $48
|
Watch out with the MX suffix on Nvidia cards. It's their cheapest models. For a little price difference, you can have a big performance difference.

I think I've heard of this problem before. You might want to check out the official Morrowind boards. They seem to have all the answers there:) Of course, the best solution would be to mail the game to me;)
