Well I soloed the whole game gona start TOB WIth my Assassin and yes there where some tough spots but overall he can be very tweaked.

This is what he uses and how he's built
Assassin Lvl27 CHaotic Evil HUMAN
Stats
Str 17
Dex 19 (book from Bg1 this little thief was imported from BG1)
COn 16
Int 15
WIs 12
Cha 16
HP- 97
Magic resistance- 70%
He is prof with Long swords, daggers, Short bows, Single weapon style, two weapon style and sword ans shield and some others...
All his thieving abilities are as follows
195% Pick pockets
105% Open locks
105% Find traps
90% Move silently
140% Hide in Shadows
90% Detect illusion (VERY USEFULLLL!)
105% Traps
These may seem high for an assassin but check out his eq!
Head-baldurans helm(was ion stone of regeneratiom(use any item abilitY))
Rings- Ring of gaxx + mercy killer ring (for thief skills)
Armor- Human Flesh (god mr and +4 to saves so useful in soloing!)
boots- of speed (duhhhh)
Cloak- baldurans cloak (adds mr and ac and saves!)
Amulet- 10% resitance (from drow city) but now the one you get at the end of the game that adds 1 to saves, I rotate with amulet of power so I have immunity from level drain eheh(use any item)
Bracer- of extraordinary specialization (use any item from wathers keep) or of pick pockets
shield- Shield of the lost+2 immunity to confusion, charm, hold ect... very useful in some situations!
Weapons- Daystar, Dragonslayer, Tiguin Bow+1 (3 attacks goes to 4 with bracer) and does crazy stuff with posion), Gesen Bow, Equilizer(kinda SUCKS), Firetooth dagger (this RULES with poison), and some others wich I can't remember.

Anyway That's perty much the setup but the trick to winning is hit and run, no close up melee attacks cause assassin thaco kinda blows so bets way is to use gesen and tigiun or firetooth dagger from affar coated with poison it is umbelivable! Dragons are a sinch, first 2-4 arrows 1-2 hit both poison he gets shocked repeatebly, then use cast stoneksin sometimes use an arrow of dispelling and repeat dragon dead in no time hit and run the whole time. Hmm i soloed a Kensai so anythings possible.
Elven Kensai Nuetral evil
His Stats were
str 21 tome bg1 and evil path.
dex 20 tome
con 18 tome
int 19 tome
wis 8 there had to be some dissapointment
cha 11 so hes not friendly he kills people very fast instead.

I just love bragging about this stuff. My tactics had lots to do with invis potions and rings and of course much item juggeling and running away. Kisith the spider was sooo useful.

He shall be the new Lord of murder (deep evil laugh)

Alls I have to say is, cheating bastards! lol, there was only 1 tome for strength in BG1! How in the nine hells did you get 21 strength? You cheated, and you should not be bragging. Death to the evil ones, for I shall destroy them all!

Kithix useful? Not in my experience - dies too quickly whenever I summon it. About the only useful thing is the web ability.

He said he took the evil path, and down the road in the game, taking an evil path for something gives you a bonus to strength. Either +1 or +2,

Can you guys give more specifics on assassin tactics?

I also use the Tuigan bow and the Firetooth weapons with poison. How do you overcome the low THAC0?

If you install ToB, it removes xp cap from SoA also - so it's all legit.

I'm still interested though, in how did his assassin managed to wear the Amulet of Power.
