I just finished the game, but I wanted to go back to Athkatla and finish some subplots. The final save puts me back in the 9 hells. Is my only option from here to kill Irenicus again or can I get back to Athkatla somehow?

2 ways:
1) Start over the game
2) Use the MoveToArea codes to get out of 9 Hells, and use the MoveToArea codes to bring you back to 9 Hells (AR2900).
Provided you enable the in game cheats.
Some in town locations' codes:
AR0400 - Slums
AR0020 - City Gate
AR0700 - Promenade

Make sure you select your WHOLE party before entering the codes, otherwise you will get a healthy number of "YOU MUST GATHER YOU PARTY BEFORE VENTURING FORTH".

as far as i know, i dont think so. you cant go back to finish any stuff you want to finish after you beat irenicus. no other way out i suppose.
