i went to this guy near the academy and he tells something about being safe. then i told him i was a guard and that he had to pay for his safety. then i get this line: your aligment changed 3 points to evil. i was a chaotic good character but after the change it still says chaotic good inmy character sheet. how does this work?
|
Your alighnment in NWN goes up or down on the good/evil axis depending on what answers you give to certain dialog paths like the one you mentioned. Things like extortion and bullying people will get you evil points. Things like declineing rewards and doing the "good" option in quests will get you good points. When your good/evil points are within a certain range you will get an "alighnment title". They are things like "overlord" ,"protector","Justicar","Despoiler", ect. They dont realy have any significance in the game except to let you know that you are properly roleplaying your chosen alighnment.

keep being evil and your alignment will shift downwards, mine kept going up which is disturbing to me, so i started extorting people for money and im happily neutral again, cant have my reputation turning into that of a goody goody ;)
i think it takes 10 points either way to actually shift alignment, but i could be totally wrong, seemed like it was in my game though but i didnt write it down, anyone know the actual alignments and points to achieve? |
Hey, I haven't gotten a title or seen points adjusted!
I'm chaotic good and always take the "good" path and frequently turn down rewards. Does that mean I'm role-playing well...lol. ;) :D |
When I was playing a Druid of True Neutral, and I kept doing good stuff, I lost my title of Reconciler, but I also lost significant Attack bonuses that come with leveling up. I was a level 8 Druid with +1/-4 to attack. I was using a Desert Wind Scimitar. I even got healed by Airabeth to make sure that it wasn't a curse or something. I then started over with a Neutral Good Druid.

i reloaded a save killing everyone i could find, i was chaotic evil in no time still not sure the exact values before you change, but you can change alignment very quickly indeed if you want.
|
values below 30 are chaotic and/or evil
values above 70 are lawful and/or good see p. 166 in the manual for the very complicated table ;) |
edit: i haven't read much in the manual since i play P&P too and knew everything except for the toolset, but about the toolset was written little.
so you can change from say chaotic good to neutral good? or only from good to neutral to evil and vice versa? [ 01-04-2003, 04:57 AM: Message edited by: philip ] |
It appears to me that the alignment changes only affect the evil/good rating. I was able to change from neutral to evil or neutral to good, but never from neutral to lawful or neutral to chaotic. It may be that you will change the lawful/neutral/evil stats and it just did not happen to me.

in the manual it looks like you can change lawful neutral and chaotic too.
