I'm roleplaying the Children of Bhaal story:
solo until reaching Imoen, then together finishing SOA and recruiting erm...
another NPC and finishing TOB.

I'm playing a Cavalier and it was quite a battle with imp. Irenicus.
Fortunately Imoen helped a lot with ADHW's, Improved Haste, ...

And I let Jonny take my cheesy items - so it was quite a challenge.

So, has anyone played in the same way (only PC, Imoen in SOA and "him" in TOB) and what character did you use ?

Hmmm no, ive never tryed that.. i havent even heard of it. It sounds relly cool though! i think im going to have to try it. If i did that, i would prob make either a Paladin or a fighter/thief.. or maybe a kensai --> Mage.

I think ide need to remove the exp cap, since i dont have ToB... especially if it was with the tactics mod!

I have often thought it was the only sensible way to go solo or semi-solo. Why go to all the time and trouble to get Imoen back and not take her with you? Imoen can become a very powerful mage given half a chance.

One of my favorite times doing this was to reverse the Imoen process, start as a mage and then dual to a thief.

I once went through ToB with that certain someone, but not Imoen. I began my game in ToB, because I wanted to do it without having to play SoA first. (Very anxious, it was about a day after I got it). I was a Wild Mage, and it was a LOT of fun!

You don't need an exp cap remover, and yeah all games should be played on insane 99% of the time, but when I did it I used my swashbuckler/mage dualled at lvl 15 so I still got all the levels I would have got had I gone a straight mage.

Yes, I don't know what I would do without Imoen against Imp. Irenicus.
And if you know the endless spells trick she (or any mage) can be as good as sorcerer. All you need beside project image is another offensive spell at the same level (7) and of course Staff of The Magi and its spell trap. ;)
