TV reporter accuses Australian Prime Minister of "Camelcide"
I really can't understand this at all. Is this the onion news or is that woman actually serious?

Re: TV reporter accuses Australian Prime Minister of "Camelcide"
She's a real reporter and host for CNBC, a major financial news network. I'd imagine she's serious although the topic has nothing to do with finance or business.

Re: TV reporter accuses Australian Prime Minister of "Camelcide"
Well, I'm sorry to say it, but people over here are laughing at her. Camels are an introduced species, and have become pests. You don't see people complaining when we kill foxes, rabbits or mice, so I don't see what her problem is.

Re: TV reporter accuses Australian Prime Minister of "Camelcide"
She's probably a member of PETA or some other radical animal rights group. Considering they're not native, I'd say almost any manner of removing the wild population is acceptable, (capture and deport/hunt/etc.) I've heard that eating camel isn't too uncommon in the arid regions or the world.
Or should we have another grand kobold debate this time with the camels existence at stake? :P On a side note: Is it just me or are there very few animals more disgusting than the camel? |

Hmm.. it would help if I watched these things before posting I suppose.
Or are you thinking the she I was refering to was Wolfrider? |
Re: TV reporter accuses Australian Prime Minister of "Camelcide"
From the "Australian" ABC news
"It has come to my attention that some people are upset about a deadpan joke I made about camels yesterday," Ms Burnett said on CNBC. "I made a deadpan joke about the Prime Minister of Australia, about the wild camels." While Ms Burnett appeared contrite, her co-anchor Mark Haines made light of the issue while she was speaking, holding a stuffed toy camel and making a sobbing sound. "This one is crying," Mr Haines chimed in. Ms Burnett then invited Mr Rudd to appear on CNBC. |

Ah, then viewing it would have been to my benefit. Thanks for the clarification.

While I don't know if they are still doing it, up to a few years ago they used to cull wild horses from the air as well in the snowy mountains region. And yes we are the only country in the world that kills and eats it's 'national animal' the Kangaroo. :) |
Re: TV reporter accuses Australian Prime Minister of "Camelcide"
FSA, there are very few animals more disgusting than the camel. The only one I can think of right now is the sloth.
A joke, right. Well, we all thought it was a joke to start, but we thought SHE was the joke... Glad it gave you a laugh, wellard. |
