Hm... I'm with the animation group.

HOWEVER!

If we ARE suggesting actors, which is fun, if hypothetical... I'm surprised nobody's suggested Anthony Hopkins for Irenicus.

anthony hopkins could do a perfect voice for irenicus, but unfortuneately he doesnt have nearly the physical stature to pull it off.

and who farted?

Hmm, how about an X-Men Evolution type animated series? Not with them as teens, just general animation style.

I would suggest Megas XLR, but that'll be laughed off.

anthony hopkins seems to me to look too short and stumpy, i mean i havnt met irenicus to see waht his stature is or anything but he seems more like the tall lean old man thing to me. although he has got the voice to suit it...

Pirengle 01-21-2005 03:41 AM

Since Jim Cummings is already tapped out to do several voices (the various djinn, Minsc, etc.), I'd plug in Anthony Hopkins for Lord Jierdan Firkraag. I think he'd do a better job, and 'tis easier to swing a cameo.

The first time animation was mentioned on this threat I automatically thought of the animation on X-Men: Evolution. I really enjoyed the series and I thought that the animation was extremely good, esecially the background art. I liked the special effects aswell.

Their animation was far better than most at the time. I hope they come out with new episodes soon.

Or start the series again, just a few years later. Never did like the "they're teens" angle.

</font>
After the final episode where they fight Apocalypse, thats where they ended it. They arent coming out with any more after that now. Shame really, I quite enjoyed that series. I have taken up watching the new He-Man and the Masters of the Universe series now.

Anyway, back on subject; I would much rather see it in that animation style, im not too font of anime myself. Some of its alright I suppose.

Here is my list:-

Anomen - Tim Curry (just to make him totally rediculous)
Minsc - Vin Deisel (just looks right)
Edwin - Alan Rickman (the best "funny" bad guy actor around)
Keldorn - Sean Connery (for that distinguished look)
Korgan - Brian Blessed (Round, Noisy and Hairy)
Yoshimo - Toshiro Mifune (the best Japanese actor ever)
Cernd - Kevin Costner (the sort of pretentious character he'd play)
Valygar - Ice T (cool, quiet, a bit bad)
Jan - Robin Williams (for the silliness aspect)
Haer Dalis - Ralph Fiennes (sullen intellectual type)
Sarevok - Christopher Walken (think of his character in "Sleepy Hollow")
Khalid - Hugh Grant (stuttering, mumbling fool)
Ajantis - Rutger Hauer (always appears in these sort of movies)
Coran - Willem Defoe (looks almost as zany as Coran's portrait)
Kivan - Clint Eastwood (sixties spaghetti westerns. Mysterious silent type)
Xzar - Jim Carrey ('cos he's a loony!)
Montaron - Joe Pesci (psychopath)
Eldoth - Matt Damon (you can't have one without the other so...)
Xan - Ben Affleck (see Matt Damon)
Tiax - Danny De'vito (might just be able to do the "mad" part convincingly)
Yeslick - Ron Jeremy (!)
Kagain - Tom Cruise (He' the correct height)
Garrick - Eric Idle (for the Sir Robin references)
Quayle - Mickey Rooney (short, old, (probably dead in fact))
Imoen - Christina Ricci (very little sister"ish")
Jaheira - Goldie Hawn (for the "Mumsie" aspect)
Aerie - Sarah Michelle Gellar (just as irritating as Aerie)
Nalia - Helen Baxendale (stuffy upper-class)
Viconia - Natasha Henstridge (painted blue, not a bad look-alike)
Mazzy - Kelly Osbourne (Short, funny hair)
Branwen - Kate Winslet (Err, Blonde?)
Dynaheir - Byonce Knowles (kick-ass attitude)
Shar teel - Brigitte Neilsen (err, she's big?)
Safana - Jennifer Lopez (curves and sultry looks)
Skie - Winona Ryder ('cos she's a Kleptomaniac)
Alora - Mena Suvari (short, bubbly)
Faldorn - Angelica Huston (creepy dark haired woman)
And of course:
Irenicus - David Warner (who else?)

Personally, while it is fun to name actors, I would love to see the film in CGI. After playing Warcraft 3, I fell in love with the cinematics and would love to see Baldurs Gate done in that for a movie, so bloody awesome!!
