LadyZ: On the news tonight they were saying that a large furniture store (slumberland maybe?) in the twin cities had it's roof collapse because of the weight of the snow. They really have a lot of snow in the twin cities!! Literally tons! We were driving my Ford escort around in Mpls/St. Paul this weekend, and the snow banks were much taller than my car!

I created the Scorpion animation using my Dazzle drive and Gif Construction Set. That program is so awesome (BOTH). As for the 1000, I used Paint and then imported it into the Gif Construction Set. I was thinking about combining the 2 together, but wasn't sure how that would come out. That would have been the best. I figured that since we were shooting for the 1000 mark, I would help it get here a little quicker. I used the scorpion pic in the 27th page, but I really wanted to show an effect like the 1000 being dragged over to the image file. I tried using the marquee effect in html, but it uses a whole line up to do that. My only other option was to use frames, and I hate frames, so I figured another easy way to do it was to make a side by side pic (something I used to use before Tripod dropped me). I think it worked ok. It was a first attempt at a layout, but I know how to do it now so it should be better next time. I could have added some dashes or arrows to simulate scorpions spike, but figured that would be overkill. http://www.tgeweb.com/ironworks/cgi-...iles/smile.gif Figure there is enough spam already. The animated Gif only takes up about 8k so it loads pretty quick. I am rather pleased with how it came out. Next time I will use the Font option a little better though. Oh well . . .

I really don't know about the travels. The weather shouldn't be a problem (fingers crossed), and the airline strike is not supposed to start by then and Bush will probably put a 60 stop on it anyway so I should be ok for now......I hope!

Their cabin actually has a slanted roof, but we got one really wet, sticky snowfall and that started it all staying on the roof. I didn't even hear about the Slumberland store?!?! Shows how much I watch the news around here http://www.tgeweb.com/ironworks/cgi-...iles/smile.gif But I did see a auto repair store near Lake Milacs (2 hrs north of here) that the roof and a couple of the walls had collapsed.

I was rather fortunate when I was growing up. My mom never did try to feed us SPAM. When we were young (my sister and myself), we tried SPAM and just couldn't finish it. Course, what we had was just warmed up and not fried. Hmmm. Maybe I did miss out on something (NOT) LOL. Heavens to mergatroid. WOW, now that's a line I haven't heard in a long time. Pink Panther perhaps? It's been so long that I really can't remember anymore. Seems like it was a cartoon though. Maybe not the Pink Panther. Actually, isn't it that same character that always says, "Exit. Stage Left." Hmmmm. Now who was that? BTW, which Tobbin thread are you talking about? I'm drawing a blank here.
