ooc- since I posted as Lyulfe last, I suppose Liam deserves the first turn...

ic- <font color="goldenrod">Liam</font>

Liam sighed slightly at Nanashi's defiant outburst. This did not bode well for his story, the true story.

<font color="goldenrod">"I do not know what yourr masterr has told you, but I suppose I should starrt way back at the beginning, beforre you came into being, beforre ourr family became werre-tigerrs."</font> He settled back in his chair, crossing his legs and folding his hands in preparation for the long tale he was about to tell. Nanashi was still being obstinate, but he could tell that she was listening despite herself.

<font color="goldenrod">"Once, not so long ago, therre lived a noble couple by the name of Sirr Charrles and Lady Amelia D'Arrmell. They werre not verry rrich, but they werre loved by theirr people forr theirr kindness and just trreatment of the common. One day they rreceived an urrgent letterr frrom a village on the outskirrts of theirr land, begging forr help. Gatherring a small grroup of men-at-arrms, Sirr Charrles prreparred to leave. His headstrrong wife rrefused to be left behind, so she and theirr newborrn child came along."</font>

Here Liam paused and opened his eyes to look at Nanashi. <font color="goldenrod">"I believe stubborrnness rruns in the D'Arrmell females,"</font> he said drily, looking at his sister. He continued on: <font color="goldenrod">"While trraveling thrrough the jungle to rreach the village on the otherr side, the small band was suddenly attacked by a man-eating tigerr and its mate. Many of the men-at-arrms werre slaughterred, and the few still alive rran away in fearr. Sirr Charrles, seeing the maneaterr going afterr his wife, was able to brring down the alrready badly wounded tigerr in his rrage, but not beforre Lady Amelia received a terrrible bite to herr leg.

"Hearring horrrible scrreams coming frrom theirr trraveling comparrtment, Sirr Charrles hurrried overr to see the female coming out with his child dangling from herr mouth by its wrrist. When she spotted herr dead mate, the female launched herrself in a rrage at Sirr Charrles, rright onto his sworrd. Dying, she clamped herr jaws on his upperr rright arrm with herr last bit of enerrgy.

"Afterr tending to theirr wounds the couple made camp, having discoverred what was plaguing the village. The next day, they discoverred a strrange change in theirr child and themselves. The bodies of the dead tigerrs had trransforrmed into humans durring the night - they werre now werre-tigerrs. RRealising that they couldn't rreturrn to theirr norrmal life with these new abilities, the pairr made theirr home in the jungle and took up the rreputation the tigerr pairr had left behind.

"Sirr Charrles, in his full-grrown tigerr forrm, now prreyed on passerrby in and nearr the jungle, while Lady Amelia tended to theirr child in herr hybrrid forrm. Afterr 10 yearrs, she gave birrth to anotherr child. But beforre Sirr Charrles could hearr of the good news, soldierrs sent by his crruel brrotherr, Sirr Wickham, who had taken contrrol of his lands and prroperrty, killed the tigerr Sirr Charrles. He had gotten into bad habits and in his acting the parrt of a 'maneating tigerr,' had developed a taste forr human flesh."</font>

Liam paused again and shrugged. <font color="goldenrod">"So I suppose his death was somewhat justified, in rreturrn forr eating his prreviously beloved subjects.

"Lady Amelia, overrcome with grrief, told herr firrst borrn that it was time forr him to searrch forr his own forrtune. She drrove him away, and she and his baby sisterr disappearred frrom the jungle. She knew that once Sirr Wickham hearrd the news about Sirr Charrles, he would searrch and hunt down the rrest of them, especially Sirr Charrles' heirr.

"Of courrse, I did not know this at the time,"</font> Liam added. <font color="goldenrod">"It was only afterr wanderring arround this town that I hearrd about the soldierrs Sirr Wickham had sent in searrch of me. Luckily I was able to conceal myself long enough forr the hubbub to subside. I neverr knew what had become of Motherr orr you since that moment, until now,"</font> the aristocrat continued earnestly. He looked down at his right wrist. <font color="goldenrod">"I still have the scarrs frrom when I was bitten as a child,"</font> he mentioned, showing his wrist to Nanashi as proof. Arranged almost like a strange bracelet, the delicate teeth marks were even paler than his ivory complexion.

<font color="goldenrod">"I must ask you, please comparre my storry to yourr masterr's,"</font> Liam asked his sister seriously. <font color="goldenrod">"You must searrch inside yourr hearrt, and decide which is trrue. I admit, I have killed people. As an assassin, it is my job. Howeverr, I have only killed those who have caused grreat sufferring to otherrs, in an attempt to atone forr ourr fatherr's sins. I would neverr have harrmed Mother."</font> He stopped talking and remained patiently silent, giving Nanashi time to think things over, and to decide for herself whom to believe - her master, who raised her since she was abandoned, or her long lost brother.

ooc- that was the longest post I've ever written, methinks :x hoped everyone liked Liam's story of his past ^__^

EDIT- fixing the accent a bit *shakes fist at Liam's accent* I'm going to forget how to spell with all of these extra 'r's! :(

ooc- and moving on to the next melodramatic scene... I promise I won't try to kill Lyulfe for a while now, Larry

ic- <font color="darkseagreen">Lyulfe</font>

Someone had called his name. his name of power, Eolandesamoradananne... He must obey the summons, his mind urged him, and his body struggled to obey. Swimming in slow motion, he reached his hand up to the surface, towards her face... his fingers pushed against the surface, feeling resistance. Suddenly his fingertips broke through, and everything shattered around him, and the real world rushed towards him as if he was flying... or falling...

Lyulfe's eyes slowly eased open, the world swimming before him. The worried face suspended above him eventually came into focus, and he smiled slightly. <font color="darkseagreen">"You called?"</font> he joked drily in a cracked voice. <font color="darkseagreen">"How... did you know to call me by that name?"</font> he asked, attempting to swallow to clear his throat. He gave in to a sudden fit of coughing, and after he recovered the elf added <font color="darkseagreen">"Eh, why do I feel like I was just hit by a train... and why am I scaly,"</font> he frowned, perturbed, as he looked down at his arms, too tired to lift them. He attempted to fix the problem, and frowned more deeply. His well of magic was but a thin stream, the violet light easily slipping out of his grasp. He tiredly looked up at Rong's happy and anxious face. <font color="darkseagreen">"And not that I mind, you are quite comfortable, but why am I lying in your lap... and why are you looking at me like that?"</font> he finished, returning Rong's strange looks with a raised eyebrow of amusement and concern.

<font color=darkgoldenrod>Nanashi

After hearing what he had to say, and then realized he was being quiet now to see how she would react, she spat out her reply, as venemous as ever,

"So you admittingly confess to have hidden away like a scarrred rrrabbit while ourrr motherrr was being torrrn to pieces in crrruel pleasurrre by Wickham, and allowing a moderrraterrr-turrrned Demi-God Shadow Masterrr to rrraise me as his own! What a cowarrrd you arrre!
Even now, keeping me bound like this, you show your trrrue strrripes, Brrrotherrr!

In any case, I do not know why you would have to hide from ourrr uncle...he was killed in rrrevenge in my honorrr by my step-fatherrr, Larrrry the Modding Mage yearrrs ago."
</font>

Larry_OHF 09-18-2004 11:18 PM

<font color=orchid>Rong

"Don't talk now, Lyulfe. I...I just..."

She could say no more, for there was nothing to really say, but her emotions took over instead and lead her to bend her head down and find his lips with her's, pressing firmly, as to say that she did not ever want to let go.
In a moment, a tickle was felt upon Lyulfe's cheek...a few tears had run down from Rong's eyes.</font>

OOC>>>I bet Mistral would be proud of that moment! Don't you agree that it sounds like her?

On another note...I cannot believe I am playing the part of a female, making out with a male character being played by a female! It is just wierd, y'all.

Skydracgrrl 09-19-2004 08:22 PM

ooc- you think that is wierd, I'm not even acting out a female character in this rp! ... but it is a bit strange feeling.. ah well.

ic-<font color="goldenrod">Liam</font>

Liam sat there, stunned at Nanashi's words. <font color="goldenrod">"I was only ten! I may have looked 24, but I am still human! I didn't know what to do!"</font> He yelled back at her, his aristocratic temper aroused. He sighed, then covered his face with one hand for a moment. <font color="goldenrod">"No, this is not rright."</font> He bent down to right the chair that he had knocked over in his emotional outburst.

<font color="goldenrod">"I will not make excuses. If I had known what was happening to Motherrr..."</font> he paused, swallowing painfully. His hands gripped his arms tightly, his nails digging into his skin as if trying to keep a grip of reality. He jolted suddenly, and looked at his blood on his arm in stunned surprise. In his anxiety he had transformed into his hybrid form, and his sharpened nails had easily cut into the flesh on his arms.

He turned his gaze towards Nanashi, and looked at her for a moment before coming to a decision. Bending over her, he easily picked her up in his arms. Moving silently over to the nearby window, he easily slid it open and jumped onto the windowsill and to the nearby roof of the next building. He made his way in this fashion, running and jumping from roof to roof, until he reached the edge of the forest.

Stopping abruptly at the vegetation, he gently set Nanashi down. <font color="goldenrod">"I appologize forr keeping you bound, but I did not think you would listen to me beforre attacking me outrright,"</font> Liam said in a subdued voice. Bending over her again, he quickly and easily rent her bonds. Stepping back, he rubbed his chest absently, feeling pain.

<font color="goldenrod">But is it the bruised ribs that hurt you? Or something deeper?</font> a small voice asked him in his mind.

<font color="goldenrod">"You arre free to go back to yourr Masterr,"</font> he told his sister. <font color="goldenrod">"But tell him, that it is not Larrry that he has to watch out forr,"</font> he added, a dangerous glint in his tawny eyes.

He lowered his face, murmuring something. It may have been a trick of the light, but something seemed to make its way down the side of his face, shining wetly. <font color="goldenrod">"Goodbye my sisterr... I will fight yourr masterr forr yourr frreedom..."</font> he murmured so softly that it was barely audible.

ooc-

Skydracgrrl 09-19-2004 08:34 PM

ooc- you get a Mistral star of approval!

ic- <font color="darkseagreen">Lyulfe</font>

Lyulfe sat there in stunned surprise to Rong's actions. Tentatively he kissed her back and raised a hand to gently brush her cheek. Once she withdrew he asked softly <font color="darkseagreen">"Why are you crying?"</font> Unable to help himself he added, <font color="darkseagreen">"I can see why humans like to do that, we should do that more often,"</font> he gave her a small, mischievious grin.

ooc- Wow, this is my first "love scene"! :D This is wierd! XD totally feel how you are feeling, Larry

<font color=darkgoldenrod>Nanashi

"Rrright, then. So be it. I have done my job in teaching you something of yourrr errroneous past, and you have enlightened me on things I was not awarrre of as well. Although I had come to kill you beforrre, I shall now let you live out yourrr pain such as I have all these yearrrs in the darrrkness...and let those shadows haunt you all the rrrest of your days, for what has happened to me...and my motherrr.

You shall not see me again unless you come looking forrr death at the hands of the Shadow Mage of Ironworrrks!

Goodbye"

And with that exit, she leaped straight up into the tree that was branched out overhead, grabbing onto the branch even as her form twisted into that of a hybrid, and then she pulled herself into the foliage and was gone. </font>

================================================

OOC>>>And just like a woman and her mood swings,,,well...you'll see...

<font color=orchid>Rong Er

She could not resist but to giggle, then regained her composure and pounded her fist into his chest.

"What were you thinking, trying to play the hero and leave me? Don't you realize how much you mean to me? And then you pull a stunt like this? This Larry that you rescued has not even stayed here long enough to make sure you recovered from your heroism!"

She was definately worked up by the tone of her voice, but it was still carrying a lingering sweetness to it that was clearly audible to even the most tone deaf person.
It was almost motherly, as when she scolds her child with loving hostility. </font>

ooc- indeed.

ic- <font color="darkseagreen">Lyulfe</font>

<font color="darkseagreen">"Ung,"</font> Lyulfe gave a short grunt of pain as Rong thumped on his chest. Wincing slightly he looked up at Rong with a lopsided smile. <font color="darkseagreen">"Eh, being around that crazy bard made me go soft in my cynical old age. Always out to help a good cause, and all that,"</font> he said loftily, waving an arm about in the air melodramatically. <font color="darkseagreen">"Although I didn't realise it would take that much out of me... usually I'm supporting the bard's spells, not the other way around..."</font> He gave Rong an uncharacteristic meek look, but his eyes held a glint of humour. <font color="darkseagreen">"I'll try not to do it again without your permission.

"Now, lets see how good I am at mobility,"</font> Lyulfe said, moving on to another subject. <font color="darkseagreen">"Unfortunately I may have to buy a cloak to hide my horrible change, because I don't have enough magic stored in me to fix it. Don't worry, I should recharge again soon enough. I must warn you though, that I have almost no energy for the simplest of spells, and if I were forced to transform to my normal form, I may have to stay that way for awhile. And we need to discuss your knowledge of my true name,"</font> he continued on while struggling to sit up. It was a rather laughable sight to watch a grown elf seem incapable of performing so simple a task, if it weren't for the seriousness of his eyes and the tone in his voice.

Skydracgrrl 09-20-2004 12:40 AM

ooc- *waves kerchief at Nanashi's retreating back* au revoir! :(

ic- <font color="goldenrod">Liam</font>

<font color="goldenrod">I am death... I am shadow...</font>

Liam stared silently at the forest for awhile, watching the breeze blow through the branches, as if teasing him. He turned abruptly, his form changing to human as he turned. Determinedly he walked back to the tavern, a strange, dangerous emotion in his eyes. He knew where his future would lead him, and it seemed his fate was now bound to that of Larry.

<font color="goldenrod">"Wait,"</font> he called, arriving back just in time to see the others being led away by the Inquisitor, Larry among them. They turned to look at him. <font color="goldenrod">"I must go with this man,"</font> the aristocrat addressed Marcos. <font color="goldenrod">"It would seem that the fates demand it."</font>

He turned and studied Larry with unreadable tawny eyes, then turned back to Marcos, waiting for his decision.

Morgeruat 09-20-2004 09:09 AM

<font color=lime>Roderik

As he ran he waited for a clear intersection, or a stairwell. Once he had arrived at one, he sang a song of marching soldiers, warriors striding off to their deaths in battle. As he finished the sound of booted feet began echoing throughout the tower of the Shadow Mage. No shapes could be seen, but the sounds of three groups of 13 were spreading to throughout the tower, walking away from the left hand turn that Roderik had made. He carefully stalked down the passageway keeping an eye out for anything that would want to make a meal out of him.</font>

TAOWolf 09-20-2004 10:25 AM

<font color=skyblue>She raises an eyebrow at the mention of taking something of hers, and snarls softly under her breath. But, knowing the Mage and how he loves to brag, she dismisses it for the moment. She reaches into the flames, cupping a few into the palm of her hand and holds them at eye level as they dance across her palm happily, contemplating his words.

At the mention of balance, the flames upon her palm appear to scrutinize the Mage dancing in an ancient way, twisting this way and that, looking him over, sizing him up as fire is wont to do. She narrows her eyes at the name Reaper, and chuckles softly..

Lifting her eyes to the ceiling briefly, she smiles.. Her whispered reply bounces of the walls and shadows, floating upon the breeze that is in the room, finally landing upon his ears deep in his shadow cloak, tickling them with her answer...

"You are correct about the battlefield, but we have yet to see who will get to pick that place, eh? As for holding powers over me, that is to be expected. I am in your tower. But also know, I hold something over you also."She smiles at him for a moment..."As for the balance, yes my kind protect and defend that balance. As for the Reaper, I was under the impression he is wanting YOUR job, and is just playing you along. As for an advantage, have you forgotten the WindBringer? He might not be here physically, but the spirit of him and his kind are still on my side, so I would say that makes us even in balance for the moment. Pester Reaper? I believe not, I am interested in seeing what his plans are..."

She pauses, and tilts her head towards the hallway.... Her eyes shift to their wolf-like quality as she smiles listening...

"Is something wrong, Mage? I hear a commotion below somewhere... Someone sounds... sounds irritated..." She chuckles again, watching his face....

"Did one of your prisoners or pets get free, I wonder, to run rampamt below and play with your creatures?"

She shifts slightly to the other boot, and casually leans upon her staff as she lifts the flames upon her palm to her face again, and softly blows, sending the flames to dance merrily around the room... they dance happily upon the breeze finding the Mage in his shadows, and softly lights the shadows with blue/silver reflection then wink out with a small laugh that echoes through the room...</font>

<font color=orange>Inquisitor Marcos of Snowdale - 98/98

He studied Plaxica for a time, then turned his eyes to Liam after making certain to catch Larry's expression at their words.

Small chance.

"I am confident these people with me now have between them all the knowledge of this crime I need be made aware of. I would myself consider leaving either Silt or Vincent here at mister Silverfall's word neither played a part in the attempt on his life, but I feel it to be fairer to bring both than to nominate one of them to remain behind. I have no desire nor a need to enlarge the size of the party by adding yet another to its number."

He thought of the sheer amount of dark magicians who had claimed they were chosen. Never an end to them.

"Furthermore, I have found over the years that the fates are perfectly capable of adjusting to setbacks. I shall have to refuse you, good sir."</font>

dplax 09-21-2004 07:30 AM

<font color=red>Plaxica 70/70

He looked at the Inquisitor with a look which among many other sentiments betrayed surprise and frustration.

"Don't you wish to find out the full truth? Will you content yourself with just a part of it? I thought from your words that you were a better man than that."</font>

Edited for incorrect tag.

<font color=green>Andrion Wilgor ??/60</font>(OOC: how many HP has he lost from Arcades clawing him?)

<font color=green>Andrion was drifting in and out of consciousness. The world was all blank around him and whenever he was conscious the pain was nearly unbearable. He could not think of anything, but his failure. Should he survive whatever this Inquisitor was going to do it was going to be the Mage who would punish him and actually he was more afraid of the mage. He would have to try to amend his mistake. Looking around himself he tried to make out where he was, but then he fell unconscious again.</font>

Legolas 09-21-2004 10:25 AM

<font color=orange>Inquisitor Marcos of Snowdale - 98/98

He raised an eyebrow at the man's challenge.

"I am content with this part of the truth, as you phrase it. To hold the whole of the truth is a quest outlasting an immortal man's lifetime. I have no interest in the weekly profits of the storekeeper who sold the assassin the murder weapon, nor do I desire to find out which flavour of pies his wife likes best.
"Not, at least, until it proves the information might be relevant to the matter at hand.
"Furthermore, I would appreciate it should you let me do my work now without your bold questioning of my judgement. You are not helping yourself.

<font color=red>Plaxica 70/70

Plaxica was liking this inquisitor less and less. He was like most of the religious fanatics he had met during his travels in certain aspects. Only interested by the mission given to him by his order. However bad this discussion could be for Plaxica's future he was not going to let it go.

"I do think that the presence of the female near the town was relevant. But you could ask the one knows as Liam about this. He seems to know more."

Then he expectantly looked at Liam, waiting for him to speak up.</font>

Skydracgrrl 09-21-2004 09:14 PM

<font color="goldenrod">Liam</font>

Liam arched an eyebrow at Plaxica and cleared his throat uncomfortably. <font color="goldenrod">"I am afrraid you arre mistaken. Herr appearrance was merrely poorrly timed. Herr prresence did not dirrectly norr indirrectly have any effect on prrovoking the attack on Larrry."</font>

The tall aristocrat turned his attention back towards Marcos. <font color="goldenrod">"It is unforrtunate that you will not let me trravel as parrt of the grrouup. Howeverr, I am surre you will have no issue with me trraveling at my own volition and alone, corrrect?"</font> Liam asked the Inquisitor politely. <font color="goldenrod">"Unless you wish forr me to rremain herre forr questioning..?"</font>

ooc- *whistles* looks like Liam is going to part ways with the others...

dplax 09-22-2004 01:26 AM

<font color=red>Plaxica 70/70

Why wasn't the aristocratic speeched man helping him? Plaxica had clearly seen that the female had attacked him.

"Why are you protecting her? I clearly saw her attack you. Where is she now by the way? Weren't you supposed to guard her?"</font>

Elif Godson 09-23-2004 10:35 AM

Vincent Pathfinder 98/98

"<font color=silver> Plaxica, if I am not mistaken, She was of a personal nature to Sir Liam, leave it at that. Are we ready to go Inquisitor to our trial </font color=silver>"?

dplax 09-23-2004 10:56 AM

<font color=red>Plaxica 70/70

Plaxica was starting to get a bit frustrated with everyone trying to stand in the way of this question he thought really important, but then considered the sense in Vincent's words. He made the decision to remain silent for the moment.

"We may leave Inquisitor. Although I do have doubts about the rightness of the situation." - he left his voice trailing off, so that anyone could easily understand that he wasn't totally convinced. He looked at Liam with a sideways look making a new assessment of the man. At the edge of the forest he had only suspected, but now he knew that Liam was hiding something. And he was determined to find out.

"However may I request that Liam travel some time with the group? I would like to talk to him."</font>

Legolas 09-23-2004 11:45 AM

<font color=orange>Inquisitor Marcos of Snowdale - 98/98

He gave Liam a nod.

"You are free to continue on your journeys. Should I find myself requiring your account of the day's events I shall manage to find you. As I do not believe this will be the case, I see no sense in bidding you wait."

He then turned once more to Plaxica. Marcos was certain he did not like that one much. Still, his observations might prove invaluable to the inquisitor.

"I have heard tell," he mentioned casually, "of evil warlocks who perform their magic without tracing a single arcane symbol in the air, by their word alone. I wonder if I ought enforce gags for Silverfall's protection?

"You sir, were placed under arrest if you do not seem to realise this yourself. You are suspect of attempted murder, and you will remain suspect until your innocence has been ascertained. It is no pleasure trip you shall soon undertake, and certainly, I do not believe I shall accomodate your request."</font>

OOC: Time for another thread methinks
