Hey Cerek,

I beleive in and practice 'faith healing' as well. Sorry my way is not particularly Christian-based. Regardless, the discernable results are indeed quite awe-inspiring. Thanks for sharing!

Hmmm. Chewbacca, may I ask what method do you use please? Just wondering because back in my earlier years, I was introduced to Reiki, another form of hands on healing. Fascinating history of Reiki and the weekend class had helped changed my life.
Hey, I'm familiar with Reiki, I have several friends who practice. Reiki did wonders for me concerning some back pain a while back.

Hey Guys,

First off...i'd check out http://www.ffrf.org before saying Jesus and Christianity is/was all love and peace. Jesus was pro-slavery, anti-woman, and intolerant of any religion other than his among many other things...as stated in the bible. Did you know God had 2 bears kill a bunch of children because they made fun of a bald prophet? Did you know he killed an inncent guy because Satan dared him to?

As for Politics: Did you know Christianity was not a major aspect of America until the 1950's (it may seem like it, but that wasn't very long ago)?! Did you know most of our founding fathers were not at all religious?

Anyways, more to the point for this post....the religious right is called such because it refers to a large group of people who support the republican platform and are religiously focused. They are not right wing because they are religious, they are simply both religious AND right wing. It is a designation for a very powerful political group that supports Republican politics.

Well the guy is entiled to believe that God sends bears to kill children. I believe Jesus still loves him as he has not been mauled yet. We should probaly secure the area now and keep away all ignition sources.

It was a good thing churches were built all over the place during the 1700s and 1800s so that they'd be waiting when all the Christians arrived in the 50s. ;)

I see a lot of burning men here, dancing in ignited tanker fuel :D
I guess I wait for the fire to set and the Efreetis to calm until making another serious post ;)

When was Plymouth Rock discovered by the Pilgrims? Was it 1950 or 1951?

:D

Two bears came out of the forest and killed them all. --Note that this bloody execution for a childish prank is the work of the God of the bible. Is a person like this worthy of worship? Is this "pro-life"?

"And he [Elisha] went up from thence unto Bethel: and as he was going up by the way, there came forth little children out of the city, and mocked him, and said unto him, Go up, thou bald head; go up, thou bald head. And he turned back, and looked on them, and cursed them in the name of the Lord. And there came forth two she bears out of the wood, and ate forty and two children of them." (II Kings 2:23-24)

I'm not saying I believe it. I'm saying that if one believes the bible is infallable one must believe this. How can I have good thoughts about a God who would do this?

______

As for comments regarding pilgrims and early churches:

I never said there was no religion or christianity in America before then, i said the American Nation (read:The pilgrims colonized America, they were not part of the American nation created after the revolutionary war---in fact their extremism was a big reason our founding fathers did all they could to keep church and state seperate)is not a Chrisitian nation.

Large groups since they 1950's have tried to turn it into a Christian nation. "In God We Trust" was not put on currency till then. Swearing under God while taking office was not done till the 1950's either. NOwhere in the consitution is there anything pertaining to a God. The founding fathers wanted religion to have no part of Government--and we are the 1st country to do that.

READ AGAIN: I never said that there were not christians in America, I said that America, as an instituion, was/is not Christian. The attempt to turn it into a Christian nation is a recent one. This is not my belief, it is a fact supported by evidence...including personal memiors of our foundig fathers. If you are going to disagree with me on this, you better come up with evidence.
