ok, I don't know if you are familiar with the bladesong fighting style, but it allows a character that has mastered it to attack and still parry one incoming attack that round, (or to take up to a +2 to hit, or +2 bonus to AC) I'll be using my attacks on this round to go after the nearest/least injured, and use the style specialization to parry the first counterattack I see.

Dantes, hurry up and use all your spells so that you will be left defenseless. It'll be alot more easy for me that way.

Hey I have "friends" now, now its time for me to get nasty, I am basically going to try to make it impossible for the grimlocks to get to me, and hopefully just let our rockheaded friend slap a majority of the grimlocks around. And help from a certain archer, and another certain swashbuckler wouldn't hurt either. Neither would a certain cleric not sending creatures my way from behind. ;)

On a serious note I'll be sending the shadow to watch my back, and also please let me know when Dantes feels the creatures will reach him in a round, so I can spellcast appropriately for him.

Rather than rolling dice and studying numbers, I rely on what I feel has happened, and that usually works to your favor. Of course, I have Cyril on my side, whispering ways that I can kill you all...but that is the only advantage I have over you.

Don't worry so much about official rules, because I do not have the books and the know-how to maintain a game of numbers. If you wonder whether or not you can do something, Cyril will have to be the one to make those calls, because he is book-smart on those things. Or...I can trust you to play fairly. I don't feel that any of you would ever cheat your stats to make something impossible happen, so let's just have fun and we'll all die more happily. Deal? ;D

Your a good GM Larry give yourself some credit mate, you deserve it!!!!

and the letter "U" isnt working to well on my comp so if a lot of my words are missing that letter you'll know why ;) Hope you understand

You've got to remember Larry, the numbers are only there to help GMs determine what'll happen. If you can decide what's going on without their help, so much the better! A good GM is someone who can make and keep a game fun and challenging for everyone, not simply someone who knows much about game statistics.
From what I have seen, both Cyril and yourself are doing an excelleny job at keeping your games exciting

Firing a short bow sideways will incur both range and accuracy penalties unless a character is specifically trained in doing so -- none of the characters currently present in the game has such training. Even if a character were trained in that style of fighting with a bow, the short bow would still experience reduction in range over the more conventional manner of using the bow.

I dont mean to question you at all cyril but dantes has since the begining of the campaign been wearing a necklace of negative plane protection. I dont't know if this effects the level drain but I believe so, unless this is special circumstances. I'm pretty sure the damage would not be absorbed by the stoneskins though unfortunately, but I just wanted to point out the other part.

Larry_OHF 08-22-2003 07:05 PM

FYI>>>I had to edit my initial post of that attack, and have added more to it.

I await Cyril's calling on the necklace, and will adjust as he directs.

Azrael: The stoneskin is completely ineffective against this opponent. The necklace does, in fact, protect you against the first attack. I would not count on it remaining effective for very long under these conditions, however .....

Noted and adjusted.
