I like hobbit-ish halflings :D Buff, eh? Kind of like Sam? ;)

Female druids sound nice (kind of like PETA girls?)...

Make sure you give those gnomes really big gnoses! :)

I think I'll probably go the hobbitish route. :) Buff would be wrong - I was picture a pint-sized Conan the Barbarian with hairy-feet.

Mmmmm, pita bread. ;)

Gnomes with big noses, big ears and small chins. shorter than dwarves, but with the same armspan. Skinny little buggers that can slip away into the shadows. :)

The same armspan?! Gee, gnomes must be pretty wide, since dwarves are pretty wide already, too!

Re: New Art for default DC

There not wide, they just have longer arms. :)

I recall reading somewhere an article about the different body types in AD&D. Compared to typical human ratios, dwarves' arms were only 85 to 90% as long, halfings were 90 to 95%, elves were at 100 to 105% and gnomes were 105 to 110% So...if a typical 6 foot tall human has a 6 foot armspan, a typical 4 foot tall dwarf would have a 3'6" to 3'9" armspan and so would a typical 3 foot tall gnome.

Or as Lisa Simpson said, "Like, you know....whatever." :D:D:D

Really? Do you remember the source to that? (The various companies who owned D&D changed things from time to time, I think...)

I guess it would sort of make sense, but dwarves would have really stubby arms as a result...

I don't recall off the top of my head, but I will try and find it this weekend.

I've never really thought about how it must be for them, as it would be like my arms being 3 to 5 inches shorter (each). I could still function, but I wouldn't be able to reach a lot of things. I'll think about this tonight. :)

Lord Killjoy (back in the day) was doing the same thing, but his graphics were more character study than scene. ;)
Perhaps, with some prodding, SilentThief will start to use Studio to give us some 3D art...

Oh, for the love of a computer I only have for playing on. Unfortunately, B4 I can take this on I have to get a play computer becuz I saw the size of the manual alone, and that was a huge stack of paper printed out. Not to mention the fact that I cannot load up the laptop with stuff to play with. However, as I am now working I can devote a portion to the "toys" fund. A laptop or desktop for $150 is not out of the question and it might even be a better machine than this laptop. So this is still labelled "in the works" :(

Uatu is probably right that there is a psychological barrier preventing us from imagining bearded woman. Fantasy artists (at least the well-known) generally tend to draw beautiful women rather than ugly (just look at Uatu's and Manikus' character pics :D ). Thus the (probably repulsive) bearded female dwarf is seldom depicted.

Yeah, and I've never seen a obese Elf. I thought about having one in a mod that was humorous in design, but I really haven't done even the first steps of making this idea into a mod.

Ha ha - you're right, I've never seen an obese elf, either!

(For fun, maybe I will create a new spell for my AD&D campaign (Level 3: Obesity) to use against elves...)

You should check out Craigslist. You can pretty regularly find pentium 4 desktops running at 1 ghz with decent hard drives and ram for under $50 (or at least you can in Portland).

I never bothered to read the manual, and have only used it as a reference work. :) This certainly saved me from printing a couple hundred pages.

I haven't been working on gnomes or halflings, but I did finish the icon for #10. Since I'm keeping all of the new icons under wraps for now, I guess I'd better show you something else.

For your viewing pleasure, I present to you #9, #11 and #12.
