I agree. Things are usually not like this. But some members seem to think they can get away by breaking the rules. As soon as they settle down, or all leave/get banned, things will go back to how they where.

It is simple. Like childrens do to their parents, they are trying to test our limits, and to break our authority. Well... they will be disapointed. We value the troll free atmosphere of this forum more than a few members, and unlike parents, we can get rid of trouble makers.

We might seem hard right now, but if you do nothing wrong, you have nothing to fear...

I believe Larry's post about his experiences when he said something wrong should clear this up?

Kaltia, I would advise you to tread carefully and watch what you say. Could you for instance, please sent in a Private Message examples where they were treated childishly? Last I recall, all the Moderators that were contact with them tried giving them second chances, but they brushed them aside.

Members who reacted inappropriately to them were also reprimanded. Believe it or not, we also do not condone other people flaming banned members. The avatars and labels were most assuredly not out of spite or pettism.

I find the whole discussion of "We know what's good for you, take or leave it!" makes me feel edgy.

I try to obey the rules and have found myself wondering if I would be banned on several occasions. It's not a happy feeling. This forcing of rules is not a good atmosphere for IW, either.

I'm not one of the members that would be missed if I was suddenly gone, but it bothers me that many good, long time members are gone, because they no longer "fit". It is sad, really.

Really, Dundee? Then why do something as stupid and degrading as tag Neb's gender in his profile as "Child"? Are you all *that* determined to set an example? Lord Shield has a good reason for being banned, an abusive e-mail to Ziroc, amittedly, but Neb?
Neb disagreed with a few mods and asked a question probably meant to be in humour...and he gets banned? Like Skywalker I think I have to sit back and think on a future in a place where my friends are dropping like flies.

Skywalker, as long as you treat other members and moderators as you would like to be treated, nothing bad will happen.

I also think that it is instictive for some members to protest if they feel that their freedom of speech is curtailed.

Personally I'll feel free to disagree with the mods when they post as 'ordinary members'. When they post as moderators I'll follow their rulings - that is the only way to keep this forum working and not turn in to anarchy.
