Now you're getting warmed up

*ahem*

Why, do you plan on leaving early?

T-D-C 06-08-2005 09:01 PM

Man with all these early spell shots being thrown around I'm begniing to wonder if anyone is going to be brining a pure class monk.

Greything 06-09-2005 05:17 AM

A pure monk?

There is the problem. I would love to bring in a level 40 monk but I don't have one as it's not a build that works well in the Undermountain. (I'm sure someone will tell me now that it does.)

It is good at lower levels but lacks the firepower for Trollbark Dungeon or the Proving Grounds - unless you are prepared to resort to rings of harm, wands of hellball and the like.

Still, if others are bringing mages/rdd/pale masters I may bring a monk based character just to be different.

Decisions, decisons

robertthebard 06-09-2005 10:00 AM

I'm bringing a fighter/wm, with no rdd, or pm. Putting my faith in how well I built the char. Also, to comment on something that Legolas posted above, I build my chars to work with, or without the high magic gear. My ultimate goal is to build a char that I can submit to the epic builds page, w/out being laughed right out of the community...
Oh yeah, another note on defeating the wizard on 12, she was only lvl 35...

I'll be bringing a lvl 40 monk. Not too sure how well that'll do for me, but it's what I have. And I do have a hell of a time at the proving grounds - I tend to fight folks forever. I'll have to pick up some rings of harm next time I go there.

As for rewards I'm still trying to talk this out with Z.

Some of the things I'm thinking of are.

1. A statue of the winner somewhere in the game

2. a one of a kind item for the winner. Never to be found in the game.

What would you lot want as a prize ?

I would go for a statue/sign/commemorative plaque rather than an item.

This tournament seems to be developing into more about bragging rights than anything else.

Hivetyrant 06-10-2005 12:34 AM

Well are we only going to have one of these?
If not then why don't we ask Ziroc to build some sort of trophy room or something like that?

Mozenwrathe 06-25-2005 12:59 AM

*Opts not to join into the tournament*

My knowledge of random gaming concepts is vast, but my knowledge of how to create a truly devestating character for combat is minimal. I still cannot figure out how to navigate the Bioware website to find the post about how to create the "Ferromancer" again. *sighs a bit* Oh well, I will just watch and learn, I surmise.

Legolas 06-25-2005 07:22 AM

My cleric's using the knowledge / magic domains and the sorceress rates effortless to level 40's. They're not maxed out but that's no reason not to compete
Just think that it'll be so much the sweeter if you do beat a more pvp oriented character.
