To make the two weeks short, I'll offer this question:
In Grand Theft Auto 1 they couldn't say cursewords outright, so they used this little combo word for the only curse in the game. What is that word and how is it displayed? |
FCUK?
Nope. A hint: when you pronounce it, it comes out right.
How large is a thread supposed to grow before we have to post a new one? And Bozos.. I think no ones knows the answer. :(
I have to go now, because I have an acting improvisation show scheduled soon. When I come back and noone gets it, I'll post the answer and give a new one.
Jees man, its a lllllooooooooooonnnnnnnngggggggg time since I played GTA1, mind telling us the answer?
After the show, which was so good, that it makes me fell all warm and fuzzy for being and actor and improvising there, I came home to find my computer wasn't working. After 3 damn hours of tampering in safe mode and DOS, I finally made it: I am now writing this on a PC that's explorer is forcevly shut-down and is running on necessary dlls. Hell. Anyway, the answer is sonofabitch/sonovabiatch(they both appear, I would have accepted any).
OK, the next Q is: who are the Vadrigar? |
The alien race that made the arena concepts for Quake 3, where people fight for the vadrigar's entertainment.
Yep. Niadh goes!
This series had its own special term for fast moving down hills called skiing, what series?
A blind man shoots a black cat in the dark saying: Final Fantasy?
The blind man misses, it is FPS and team based.
Rainbow Six?
no, futuristic and all armour has a jet pack of some sort.
Mechwarrior, perhaps?

Nightowl2
Ha.. I know this game from the reviews. I just can't remember the name. Am I correct in assuming that it is a bit of an oldie?
Nightowl2- wrong
Dreamer128- you are correct it is kinda old. The original came bundled with a mech game, and the sequel is still quite popular. |
Tribes?
Winner.
How do they call skiing?
Both tribes games have no terminal velocity, so something will keep accelerating. A quirkof this isif you go down a hill and keep jumping on the way down you buildup speed, and if done on the right hills there are small ramps at the bottom for flying off, ala ski jumping.
And it is the right time to use your jet pack at that point as you start to fly. |
I was thinking of buying Tribes 2, but I only have a 56k modem. Is the single/bot good?
It is playable online with a 56k, but the patch is 80-100mb. The bots are iffy. They will perfrom some actions, but only playing bot matches will make you miss out on multi person vehicles and some maps.
But as I said, it is playable. |
Actually, I think there is a new Tribes game coming up in the future. So you may want to wait for that. The new Unreal Tournament also has vehicles in it. Question coming up in a few ;)
In the game 'Starlancer', you find yourself fighting the sinister Eastern Coalition. Halfway during the game, on of your fellow pilots goes rogue on you. What is the callsign of this turncoat, and what Alliance squadron is he in league with?
Damn! I should have bought starlancer when I had the chance... oh, wait.. I never had teh chance because ditching 110$ on a game isn't my idea of fun.
Sorry, dunno. |
Nnnnng... haven't... played... Starlancer... in years... damn. I'm reasonably sure the squadron was the Cobras, but not the name of the 45th Volunteers' traitor who joined them.
Hey Bozos. The game is for sale for a mere 4 bucks now. Tancred: why am I not surprised that you have the answer? ;)
It were, indeed, the Cobras. The traitor from the 45th was the Squadron leader, Viper. Because it was a pretty hard question, your answer will do. You're on. |
Hey, thanks! I think I'll just go ahead and buy myself a Starlancer, being a total Freespace freak that I am.
You really can't compare Starlancer to freespace, or even Wing Commander. It's a good game in it's own right, but it'll never become as populair as those other two. More options and NPC interaction between missions could have taken that game a long way.
In what fun game will you always need more wood, find a chicken called Clucky, have cows slaughtered to make armour, be told 'Merry Christmas' if you play it on Dec 25th (according to your computer's clock), be forced to take steps to deal with drunkenness, have rabbits eat your crops and possibly even have a ghost wander the screen occasionally?

..and use Milk as your main resource? Can't remember the name right now. Which is a good thing, since I'm beginning to run out of questions ;)
Oddly, I don't think milk features anywhere.
Wrong game, then
The game you were talking about was Knightshift, Dreamer ;)
whatever it is it sounds cool
Right, Knightshift. Thanks Link
I must say, that having Milk as the only resource is a resourceful (pun intended) solution to the normal RTS with its wood, gold, etcetera.
Well, a (pretty serious) clue. Your four main opponents are animals. Sort of.

Black and White? I haven't actually played it, but that rings a bell in my mind from reviews I read about it when it was released.
