<font color=green>Andrion Wilgor 60/60

Andrion stopped in his running and turned to face the adversary following him. He knew that the shadow portal was now not far away and should he reach it, he was safe. He needed to win some time so while slowly backing towards the portal, he started talking.

"Maybe you can smell me, but I am not the one you are looking for. Don't you think that the appearence of the Reaper and the assassination of Larry are a strange coincidence? I am only a defenseless merchant trying to save myself."</font>

<font color=lime>Roderick 70/70

The Neogi was distracted, and the bard struck twice more, Bandit had held him off balance long enough for Roderik to recover and strike again, both daggers bit into the spider-snake creature's neck. (10 damage) The dark red blood that spurted over his hands was arterial lifeblood, and the beast would be dead in moments. He backed up to let the doberman finish off the creature while he watched and called for the daggers to return to him.</font>

Scraag saw the men shouting orders, the paladin turned to focus on the action around the one the master had named Larry. Taking charge for once, he turned and ran around the side of the inn, trying to shake the notice of the others, after all who would notice a single goblin when the silver man had been slain. His normally flapping feet were silent as he used the stealth that had aided him against the donor of his last horse. He would steal food, and then head north, forgotten by all here in the confusion. The master would reward him handsomly. And the goblin grinned in malicious glee.</font>

ArcadesSabboth 09-06-2004 04:47 PM

Arcades had followed Liam and the "merchant" outside. His nose in the Drow form was far from it's abillity in his true shape, so he quickly reverts back to his full dragon size and circles around behind the Merchant. He recognized this scent immediately as the man who first discovered his dragon nature and snarls at him when he smells the scent of Larry Silverfall's blood on him.

"Andrion.... Your scent is unmistakable to me. You are a traitor to our cause." came his rumbling voice, full of anger. His scales gleam, making him seem more like a monster than his body appears.

OOC: for Skye: Andrion did turn around but kept moving

<font color=green>Andrion Wilgor 60/60

Andrion had to think and had to think fast. He stopped moving and took the amulet off, so that everyone could see him. He only needed enough time to be able to cast one spell. With this in mind he started talking while mentally preparing the spell.

"Wait a moment. Everyone listen to me. I can explain everything. I am not this Andrion you refer to. You can probably smell him on me as he is the one who hired me to kill the ranger. I now see that the reward promised was not high enough to cover the risks. I know that probably all of you want to kill me now, but let me make a proposition for you. If you leave me alive I can lead you to the place where Andrion can be found."</font>

OOC: everyone remember that although Andrion has become visible he still has the merchant disguise and his hair is dyed blonde. Although probably Arcades can see through it, he is behind Andrion.

ooc- Arcades, however, is not the only one with unique senses...

ic- <font color="goldenrod">Liam</font>

Liam snarled and sheathed his weapons. <font color="goldenrod">"I have hearrd it all beforre. Don't botherr trrying to buy time with me."</font> He pulled the hood of his black cape up to hide his face. <font color="goldenrod">"The killerr merrely completes his job."</font>

And with that comment, Andrion was forced to watch in astonishment as the tall aristocrat bounded into the air again, with claws outstretched. But this time, it was not his bugnuk that were reaching out to cut his flesh. Instead, the claws were the actual nails on Liam's fingers, now sharpened to cruel points. Hidden within the depths of the cloak, Liam's face melted to the more feline shape of his hybrid form, his sharp teeth bared and his golden eyes glinting maliciously. Even the bravest of men would feel a jolt of cold fear when looking into the hybrid's cold, animalistic eyes.

ooc- Arcades can probably smell tiger now, and possibly see a bit of Liam, but other than that only Andrion can see the changes in Liam, because of his cloak.

EDIT- and Dplax, if your character merely tries talking again, he will die or be fatally wounded. Liam is not much of a talker.

ArcadesSabboth 09-06-2004 07:45 PM

He raises his head and looks around in the trees, seeing a hint of Nanashi hidden in the foliage. Barring his cruel, dagger-like teeth, he turns his attention back to the Disguised Andrion. It was clear to his eyes that magic was at work to conceal Andrion, and he wouldnt allow this traitor to escape.

He knocks Andrion off his feet with a quick lash from his tail and presses his forepaw down on his body, not enough pressure to crush him, but plenty to immobilize him.

"Stop your posturing, Andrion. My eyes arent so old and dull that they cant see the through your disguise. You will suffer your proper fate at the hands of all Larry's companions, not just by my hand."

He turns his head to look at Liam and motions toward the trees. "The creature who attacked you before on our way here is hidding in the trees. I will deal with this one, you should deal with Nanashi."

OOC- My bad. =)

Liam uttered a gutteral growl in response and whirled 180 degrees in the opposite direction while still in the air, landing lightly with Andrion and Arcades now behind him instead of in front of him. Running quickly and silently, appearing to be merely a black blur to normal folk, he stopped at the edge of the trees.

<font color="goldenrod">"Why do you hunt me?!"</font> He demanded angrily of the seemingly empty forest, although his senses told him better. His cold tawny eyes reflected that he wasn't in any mood to be toyed with.

<font color=darkgoldenrod>Nanashi

From a darkness within the foliage of the trees, a voice responded.

"I want an answer before you die. Why did you do it...to me...to those that loved and trusted you...and how can you breathe the air each day with the weight of betrayal on your shoulders?"

The foliage rustled for a moment, only to be echoed by another branch a few feet away. That branch was equally shadowed from the sunlight.</font>

<font color=aqua>Larry

Larry was again in his dream world. He was actually in a nightmare.

In this vision, he was falling, and could see nothing but darkness all around. Voices of laughter could be heard about him, but then there was a thin line of light. He reached for this light and grabbed onto it, realizing that it was a rope made of light. The rope stopped his fall, and he took a breath of relief.

On the outside, Larry breathed a sigh of peace, and his pulse regulated. The bleeding had stopped, and the whiteness of his complexion was slowly giving away to a slight blush upon his cheeks.

Liam ignored the appearance of the owl, his entire being focused on Nanashi and her words. <font color="goldenrod">"Love and trrrust... betrrrayal..."</font> he murmured under his breath in angry confusion, his senses following her change in location. <font color="goldenrod">"I don't know what you arrre talking about!"</font> He howled at the figure in the darkness. <font color="goldenrod">"Perrhaps therrre have been people who trrrusted me, but all they trrrusted me to do was accomplish my job. Liam's chest heaved with pent up emotion, his eyes narrowed with pain as he flexed his fingers in repetitive anxiety. His current state of emotion did not interefere with his senses, however, if anything it caused them to become more acute. He stared hard into the shadows with his pained and heated eyes. Suddenly they grew very cold and withdrawn, and his posture relaxed to that of one who no longer cared about their surroundings and survived only on instinct, like a robot. <font color="goldenrod">"You must have been sent by the Shadow. And with that, he leapt towards her branch, claws outstretched and a determined, dead expression on his hybrid features.

<font color="darkseagreen">Lyulfe</font>

Lyulfe could feel his music finally reaching Larry, his song forming a rope of light that shown with the brilliant colours of violet and azure. He heaved with the stress that the magic was causing him, and the room surrounding them warped in different directions dangerously, his spell on them starting to falter. Lyulfe could feel Larry grab onto the rope of light, and together with much pulling and climbing Larry finally reached the land of the living and the safe unconsciousness of hopeful dreams.

Lyulfe gasped, finally halting the music. With the end of the song, he could feel his link to Skye start to withdraw. With the last bit of power from the link he tediously solidified his elven form. The walls of the room groaned thankfully at the release of the spell, and the ethereal glow dissipated, leaving a shaking and ashen faced elf in it's place. His magic totally depleted, Lyulfe collapsed on the floor and immediately lost consciousness.

The half-hazard shape spell left the elf looking less than normal, his skin slightly tinged a pale blue colour like his hair. Because of his current ashen complexion this may be overlooked, except in random places on his body there appear to be patches of minute reptilian scales.

ooc- keep in mind that Lyulfe locked the door, so either Larry is going to have to wake up, or someone's gotta break the door down. Most of Lyulfe's essence is made up of magic, so by depleting it to such a dangerous level has left him in an unsafe range of death.

"Oh, Andrion wont be going anywhere. I'll see to that." The dragon smiles and turns his attention back to his captive. Using his index talon on his forepaw, he leaves two deep gashes in Andrion's calfs. These wounds were deep enough to keep him from going anywhere on his own untill the muscles healed.

Taking his Elvish form, he grabs Andrion by the collar and drags him toward the tavern, where everyone was gathered and removed Andrion's wig and disguise so the other party members could see who he was.
"I've found Larry's attacker. I had to injure him to keep him from getting away. He'll need some medical attention, but other than that, we should be kept under constant guard."

dplax 09-08-2004 06:02 PM

OOC: actually it was not a wig, but hair dye, but I'll let that go :D

<font color=green>Andrion Wilgor ??/60 (probably some damage from the two gashes)

With force of will Andrion did not cry out in pain when the dragon clawed him deeply. While being dragged towards the tavern he tried moving his legs, but could not, but he made no comment. When his disguise was removed he looked at everyone who was gathered in the tavern. Some people were missing. He hoped they were dead. He also could not see Larry and wondered whether he lived. He really did not care. He had failed, miserably. He was now probably of no use to his master now. He thought about ending his life by trying to cast a magical spell, but then an idea formed in his mind and it was with that idea that he fell unconscious because of the loss of blood.</font>

ooc: geez a fellow is forced to take time off, goes to show, time waits for no one Hope this isnt out of place.

ic:

While running from his vantage point time seemed to hold still for him, he saw Larry fall before he could even get out of the bushes, and everyone jumped into a fast pace. He watched the goblin attempt to slip away, Arcades change form a man changed into a bird before he got half way to the trail. Everyones voices were slowed, as if talking through a tube from a far distance, words barely discernable. He knew Larry was dead before the man hit the ground, a few moments later he saw the merchant, and then he saw Arcades slam him to the ground just as Liam was midflight to do the same. Liam seemed to float like a dragonfly does on the winds, and just as quickly he changed his direction avoiding the massive dragon. He didnt hear what Arcades said to Liam but since he was nowheres near to the tavern and everyone else he decided to follow him, they may be more then one assailant. Checking the winds as a hunter would and keeping the bluring form of Liam in sight he made sure to stay downwind as to obscure his scent. When he heard a womans voice similar in accent to Liam's and the comments tossed between them he got himself to a decent vantage point and knew his suspicions were true, Liam was a lycanthorpe, and so maybe his prey was to. Keeping to the fliage ans slipping from shadow to shadow he was using all his abilities of stealth and stalking he had ever learned. He finally got to a point where he could make out the mobile assailant and just as he got in sight Liam charged forward with a growl." I'm going to have to time this just right so I dont hit him" keeping to the shadow's he krept and waited for the right moment, ready with bow or blade depending.

<font color=darkgoldenrod>Nanashi

Liam had discovred her hiding place, and Nanashi's sense of smell told her an elf was nearby, but she did not know where. She had to deal with Laim right now, though. He came leaping in with a fiery heart of terrible power, and she jumped out of hiding to meet him with equal rage.

"I am yourrr sisterrr you fool, and I will avenge my motherrr's death which you arrre rrresponsible forrr!"

Then they collided in mid-air, Nanashi taking the claws from her enemy just as she dealt them back into him of her own.

ooc- and the plot thickens...

ic- <font color="goldenrod">Liam</font>

<font color="goldenrod">Sisterrr... Motherrr... death...Rresponsible...!</font> the words echoed sharply in Liam's brain, pulling the hybrid's hurt soul out of hiding and back to the present.

As the two lycanthropes fell, their claws still in each other, Liam's golden eyes lost their cold quality and widened. <font color="goldenrod">"Sisterr?"</font> he whispered in quiet wonder. Realising what he had done, he quickly retracted his claws from the female and turned her around midair, so her back was facing him. Gripping her in a tight embrace, the two fell heads first towards the ground, Nanashi struggling to break free from his ironhold.

<font color="goldenrod">"On my honourr, I will not let anyone hurrt you anymorre"</font> he said determinedly into her ear, and right before impacting with the earth he flipped them so that he was underneath and took the brunt of the impact.

Liam gave a pained grunt and could hear some of his ribs creaking in protest from supporting the other hybrid's weight. He remained there with Nanashi still clutched in his grasp, in an attempt to recover from the fall.

To Vincent and the "owl" the events occurred much too quickly to really know what happened. All they know is that Liam is lying winded on the ground with a thrashing Nanashi contained in his tight embrace, her arms pinioned to her sides.

ooc- I'm assuming that since he is older and practices his abilities as much as Nanashi does, that Liam has the upperhand on strength. Unless, of course, Nanashi has a few tricks of her own...

<font color=steelblue>The Mage watched with fascination as the weaker Roderik was able to conquer the beast as easily as Rodie had passed his test. Both had survived. This meant to the Mage that if the two of them could share the same body and work in unison, they would be a formible foe...or ally. But that had not yet occured to them, supposedly.

He appeared in front of the tired Roderik.

"My dear Roderik. That was a splendid show of talent and fore-thought. I never would have guessed you could have done so well, and I am pleased to see that I was wrong. I see why that lunatic uncle of yours prizes you so much.
Now I am still unsure of what to do with you, for you see...Rodie would work very well for my purposes, but you hinder his free agency. If only the two of you could be friends. I'll tell you what. What would be the value to you to be rid of Rodie? If I were to separate his soul from your body, would you be more agreeable? That is certainly more than what has been offered to you by my rival."

<font color=white>Just then, the Mage learned of what had transpired at the tavern. His two best had been captured and Larry yet lived. It seemed that Morgeraut had also had a hand in the events that took place there as well, but only in some object delivered to a regional officer of the law. An inquisitor. Quickly, he formed a plan.</font>

Roderik, I am a person with many plans, but they seem to have been hindered recently. I need you to do a job for me, and when it is done, your reward will be the separation of Rodie from your body the moment I have verified you have done your job. If you accept this task for me, then you will be spared. If not, I have no further business with you, and will send your rotting carcass back where it came from so that your stink will fester in the tower of my enemy. Do we have an understanding?"</font>

"Larry... wake up."

She could not, dared not think of failure. If she did, she would only panic and surrender.

"Rest if you must, but you have GOT to get up." Her voice - if there was one - was trembling as she felt her feeble vapours weaving around him.

"Get up and rescue me. Do not fail me."

How selfish she sounded! Even at a time when she had betrayed him ... or was he who had betrayed her?

I am okay, Such is the life of the Rogue, never a proper fit. Well with Larry dead, I think I may find a new place to haunt. By the way, who are you and how are involved in all this.</font color=silver> "After saying this Vincent slightly squared off with the owl man and rested his hands on the pommels of his swords.

<font color=red>Plaxica 70/70

"I had previously adventured with Lyulfe and Rong, whom I guess you know, but have not yet had the time to introduce myself, since things happenned no one could foresee. I am Plaxica, once mercenary and sailor, now only adventurer."</font>

<font color="goldenrod">Liam</font>

Liam stopped and sighed, then turned back towards Vincent once again. <font color="goldenrod">"Comrrade, I am sorrry that I offended you,"</font> he said gently to the irate rogue. <font color="goldenrod">"I do not wish to leave us sorre at eachotherr. Please except my appology. If you will accompany me back to the taverrn, I will explain my outburrst. If you arre still angrry with me afterrwarrds, then therre is nothing else I can do."</font>

He paused, shifting Nanashi's weight around a bit. <font color="goldenrod">"Underr norrmal cirrcumstances, I would have been grrateful forr yourr assistance in the fight. Howeverr, arround Larrry, verry few things seem to be norrmal. Now, please, we should discuss this in the taverrn instead of out in the open. Despite his fatal wounds, I do not think Larrry has left us quite yet. He is a verry strrange man, whom the gods seem to have singled out, whetherr with theirr blessing orr theirr currse. Eitherr way, I do not think ourr lives and the worrld will go unaffected by the end of this quest."</font>

Having just spoken the longest speech he ever made in his entire life, the normal calm and quiet Liam again turned towards the tavern, striding slowly and patiently to give the others time to decide whether to follow or not.

ooc- Elif, how does it feel to have a noble appologize to your "lowly" character? ;) :D

<font color=red>Plaxica 70/70

With his partially animal senses Plaxica could detect that there were things which the man with the strange accent was hiding, but decided upon not pressing the issue right now and instead looked at the elf who had knocked the female out.

"I shall scout around the area and meet you back at the inn."

Jumping in the air he shifted into his owl form and started flying around the tavern in widening circles.</font>

OOC: not an in depth examination, just looking to see whether there is something visibly out of the ordinary.

<font color="darkseagreen">Lyulfe</font>

Lyulfe could feel himself floating, surrounded by what felt like the sea. A sea of azure and violet light. He felt so calm, but so tired... His weariness began to drag him closer to the bottom of the well of light, the colours becoming darker shades of purple and blue... He raised his eyes slightly to look at the surface so far above, his blurring vision watching with disinterest the humans and creatures scuttling about their business all over the world.

<font color="skyblue">Lyulfe...</font> a sweet voice called to him, a note of worry in its tone. Lyulfe sighed in response, unable to form words. <font color="skyblue">Lyulfe... it is not your time to go... you are still needed... you promised to return...</font> the voice chastised sadly. He attempted to raise an arm in response, but found he was too heavy to move. He was slightly surprised that he was now in his true form, but it seemed to make sense in this strange place, somehow...

<font color="skyblue">Please return...</font> was the last plaintive cry he heard before the darkening colours enveloped him.

Rong feels a sudden unexplained chill pass through her.

Vincent Pathfinder

"<font color=silver>Well Met Plaxica, I barely know the two you spoke of, although the girl does seem a bit of a spit fire. Liam, no need to apologise, I am sure you have youre reasons. I reckon I should see if inded Silverfall still stands, if he does he is very fortunate or the assassin is a complete idiot. Either it's a win for our team. </font color=silver>" Watching Plaxica change back into a bird and go off to scout, he decided to follow Liam back to the tavern.

ooc: Does a happy dance :D His mom was never one to talk about her lineage, but youre not the only royal blood, hehe

<font color=aqua>Larry, in response to Mistral's visitation:

"..."

"...!!!..."

"..M...i...Mist...tral...."

The man that had cheated death with the help of a particular odd friend and a love that spanned across dimensions finally sat up from his deathbed and shouted,

"Mistral! I will fi...."

In the excitement of awakening and having heard his dear wife's voice so close, Larry did not realize that he had been laying in a bed and when he reached out to grab at the air, he ended up falling out of the bed, landing near the fallen Lyulfe.

"Lyulfe? ...hey...er...you alright?"

<font color=steelblue>Shadow Bad Guy

The Mage was about to respond to the silver-tongued Roderik when something in the tower went very wrong. The whole place was in silent alert, but Roderik would not have known how to read the screams of the shadows. But the Mage did.

"Bind him until I return. Do not let him escape."

Then the Mage vanished with a puff.

What he left behind to deal with Roderik was not a trade-off that could be considered any better than the Mage himself. Two of the infamous shadow giants stood in the tall room, their hulky forms looming over the poor little human with a look of hatred burning in their eyes. More than likely, the only thing keeping them from killing him now was a direct order not to from the boss, but they also were told not to let him escape, so there they stood, ready to pounce on the little man with only the slightest provocation.

Into the throneroom he appeared, where his zu-zu zombie already had her form trained in his sights, his bow at the ready to fire with a command.

The mage saw the irony in this and smiled at his unwelcome guest, teasing her as was his custom.

"Grey! Fire at will."

An arrow was already streaming its way toward the druid's throat, another alrady in the bowstring and nearly ready to follow.</font>

OOC>>>Tao...boo-yah!

<font color=skyblue>She anticipated something... although what she did not know, and she rolled as she was thrown from the portal intothe throne room of the Shadow Mage..

As she came to a stop, she stomped both paws on the ground, and a silvery blue circle of fire surrounded her, as she looked up... the arrow caught on fire and fell to the ground...

"Do not be so bold as to think, that your mere arrow can kill me, you should know better than that, or to say, your Master should know better..."

She glares around and shifts back to human form, her staff blazing against the shadows, as she looks around, and getting her bearings....

<font color=steelblue>The Mage

He stared down at his opponent...one of only a few people that held as much power as he did on these forums. He realized that her barrier of flames were too powerful to strike at directly, so decided to play a defencive move himself, and so stretched out his arms and pulled the darkness of the room around him like a great robe in which to hide in. The darkness willingly pulled away from the corners of the room and enveloped the Mage, though his fierce eyes were still visible through the murky gloom.

"It is not usual that I receive guests in my home, Lady Tao. I assume you are here on Larry's account, but you will not stop me from doing as I see fit. I have already proven to you that I can strike him down even in your presence. What more proof do you need to know that I am the more powerful?"</font>

<font color=aqua>Larry2/13

Larry watched for and was given the assurity that Lyulfe was alive, but his slow breathing was indicating that he was not healthy. His skin looked all scaly-like and his coloration was off. What was he? Larry assumed then that it did not matter what secrets this one held, for it was obvious that he had helped Larry recover from the stab he had received and now was paying the price for his service. It must have drained him of his own strength to help me, he thought.

He felt at his wound, and disovered that it had closed up into a scar, but his energy was all but gone. he needed additional healing to recover, and with his current status, there would be no way to carry Lyulfe back to the others. He could barely walk himself. However, he had to try, and so he stumbled over to the door and opened it, calling out doen the hallway for help.

"Help! We need a healer in here fast!</font>

<font color=orchid>Rong

A sudden chill passed through Rong's body like an icy shard. She shuddered and wrapped her arms about her body. She was standing with Silt, and trying to figure out what had happened to Larry. She had not even seen where Lyulfe had gone to.

"Come on, Silt...let's try to get some order back from all this chaos."
