The dark robbed man rises from his chair, He throws back his cloak to reveal himself. He is man shaped, but has a head that more resembles a snake than a man, and scaly skin.

He speaks in a hissing voice

"Give me the book and leave this area now, or you will all die."

Cienden 03-05-2004 01:53 PM

Snarling, Cienden flings his tankard at the snake-man's face and rushes in behind its arcing path intent on attempting a grapple on the man, by any means necessary.

OOC: I'm thinking that might be too many actions on my turn, but I can't remember, so I guess if it is, I'll just drop the tankard instead of throwing it and proceed with the rest.

Jumping a few feet back, Ransel reaches behind his back for his sword.
OOC: If Cienden gives me an attack of opportunity on the man, I'll take it.

MoldyOldie 03-08-2004 11:28 AM

The creature opens it mouth wide, wider then any human could, revealing two long snake fangs, as you step in to grapple, it strikes, and its fangs sink into your ourstretched arm. You feel a burning from the wound that seems out of place, and then a chill goes through you.

You take 3 hp and your constitution is reduced by 5 (which reduces your HP by 9 more).

You manage to grab the creature, but he breaks your hold.

Cienden 03-09-2004 01:28 AM

Cienden gasps at the burning chill that sweeps his arm and staggers back and away as the thing writhes out of his grasp. Cursing, while keeping his distance, he grits his teeth and draws his greatsword, keeping it level and steady as best he can although the wound's burning continues to afflict him. He ignores it as best he can for now and concentrates on the attacker hoping that the others nearby will divide the vile creature's attention.

MoldyOldie 03-09-2004 11:43 AM

The creature draws a scimitar, looks around at the startled inhabitants of the tavern, and starts backing slowly toward the exit while hissing.

Cienden loses 2 more con points, and 1 more HP, as the poison works on him.

Bozos of Bones 03-09-2004 01:12 PM

Ransel jumps infront of the exit and spits at the monster "No escape! You started this! Now yield or die!"

Cienden 03-09-2004 04:12 PM

Cienden grunts as the poison wraps its insidious grip on his rapidly weakening body. Seeing Ransel standing before the exit with a drawn sword calling out to the creature, he decides to distract the beast in an attempt to give Ransel an opening for action.

Mustering his remaining strength, Cienden bellows out an Elven warcry, and advances rapidly towards the creature yet again, with greatsword at the ready.

MoldyOldie 03-09-2004 04:42 PM

"you are foooolssssss to chooosssse deatttthhh" hisses the creature, and he moves to attack Cieden. The scimitar slashes out at his head, but it was mearly a feint, the fangs of the creature once again find a home, and sink in.

Cieden takes an additional 3 HP of damage, and your con drops 5 more points. You can no longer function, and drop to the floor.

Ransel swings at the creature, and hits. The blow is not a major one due to the creatures scales, and it hisses and turns toward Ransel.

Bozos of Bones 03-10-2004 12:24 PM

Ransel looks at Cienden on the floor and then back at the enemy. He grits his teeth and shows the beggining of a faint smile as he pulls out his dagger and swirls his baldes at the monster.
OOC: Full attack, I'm angry.
Pierce for both the dagger(default) and the Filament.

MoldyOldie 03-10-2004 04:33 PM

You hit with your main weapon, but again it doesn't seem a critical wound, you dagger doesn't land a hit, fortunately the creature doesn't manage to sink his fangs into you this time.

The next round you fail to land a hit, but both the scimitar and fangs hit you, but you don't feel the ill effects of the poison.

You take 6 hp.

You continue to fight as the waitress screams, the bartender dissappears out the back door.

You hit again with your filement, and take a minor cut with the scimitar, the fangs miss you.

You take another two HP.

Suddenly the creature bolts toward the door.

Bozos of Bones 03-10-2004 05:14 PM

Ransel reaches quickly for his belt and takes a pack of caltrops. He jumps toward the door and tries to throw them infront of the escaping creature.

MoldyOldie 03-10-2004 05:44 PM

The creature slows down to avoid the caltrops as he heads toward the front entrance.

Bozos of Bones 03-10-2004 05:58 PM

Ransel sees the caltrops had the desired effect and in the time given he takes out his shortbow and quiver to aim at the creature.
OOC: If I can, i'd like to fire. If the creature gets out of the room, I'd like to try and jump over the caltrops or though a window to continue shooting a it. It's night(right?) so I'm not bothered by passer-bys.

MoldyOldie 03-10-2004 07:31 PM

You hit the creature with one arrow, but then he is out the door. He doesn't seem weak from the wounds he has recieved so far. You get outside and put one more arrow into him as he dissappears in the distance.

MoldyOldie 03-11-2004 01:18 AM

Cienden is on the floor, very near death, the poison has lowered his constitution to the point where his wounds are life threatening.

You hear guards approacing at a run, the barkeeps voice is with them, complaining.

Bozos of Bones 03-11-2004 02:04 PM

Ransel gritted his teeth and loosened the bowstring with another arrow. He takes a look at his wounds and tries to hold the bleeding while he is walking back to the inn. Before entering he yells laizily at the approaching mob to slow down. Dropping down to his knees he starts picking up the caltrops and examining the ones the monster stepped on.

MoldyOldie 03-11-2004 07:09 PM

The guards run in the direction of the creature, the barkeep heads back into the inn.

None of the caltrops were stepped on.

"Is this guy dead?" you hear the barkeep say.

Bozos of Bones 03-12-2004 11:48 AM

Ransel looks in the inn and sees Cienden lying on the floor. He gets up with a wince from the pain and walks over to the elf. "Are you alive?" and then turns to the rest of the people in the inn "Can anyone help!?"

Cienden 03-12-2004 01:50 PM

OOC: Am I even conscious? I figured by now my character would be at 0 HP or into the negatives.

Bozos of Bones 03-12-2004 02:23 PM

OOC:I don't think so, you're paralyzed because of 0 Constitution. Right?

You see a long tunnel with a light at the end of it.

Bozos of Bones 03-12-2004 05:08 PM

OOC: Hope it isn't a train! :D

Cienden 03-12-2004 07:10 PM

IC:Cienden's spirit struggles mightily between the pull of the faraway light and the pushing against him from his severely poison wracked corporeal form, in an attempt to remain with his body. His eyes flutter and his extremities twitch slightly.

OOC: Does this count? lol It'll teach me to not try to capture stuff anymore. I'll just go for the juggular with my sword instead. I caught a kobold before for interrogation in a PnP session and thought it was great and wanted to try it again. Well this wasn't.

MoldyOldie 03-15-2004 10:43 AM

As the poison's effects dissapate and his constitution returns, Cienden slowly comes back to life, only to hear the barkeep screaming "What in the world are you people up to! Turning my bar into an arena twice now, OUT, OUT!!!!

Cienden 03-18-2004 03:03 PM

OOC: Fine I'll post something.

IC: Cienden staggers out the door and leans against the inn wall trying to catch his breath and get his bearings in the darkness outside.

Bozos of Bones 03-19-2004 03:05 PM

Ransel walks out of the inn following Cienden and grabs his shoulder. "We should go to the fort and see if we can get some assistance there. And report to the captain that we've been attacked."

Cienden 03-23-2004 02:36 AM

Cienden nods as Ransel speaks. "Very well, lead on. Hopefully the others will follow."

MoldyOldie 03-23-2004 05:49 AM

OOC: I'm sorry guys, I won't have the ability to continue until the end of the month. At that time I'll see who wants to remain active and go from there.

Cienden 03-23-2004 12:55 PM

OOC: Ok, I'll be around.

Bozos of Bones 03-23-2004 01:43 PM

OOC: I'll be here, on the street, bleeding to death with Cienden under my arms.

Bozos of Bones 03-31-2004 05:01 PM

*bumping just in case someone else wants to play*

Cienden 04-21-2004 04:27 PM

*yet another bump for this great adventure*

Cienden 05-10-2004 06:10 PM

It's after May and you're still gone pal. I guess we all died from wounds.

Bozos of Bones 05-11-2004 01:25 PM

*coughs out blood*

Bozos of Bones 05-30-2004 03:21 PM

OOC:
Is anyone even interested in playing?
If so,maybe we can hijack this or something.

Cienden 05-30-2004 04:44 PM

OOC: I still am interested!

Bozos of Bones 06-01-2004 01:04 PM

OOC: So what shall we do now? There's no point in taking this for just the two of us, one DM and one player doesn't sound much fun. Maybe some kind of dual-DM-player-hybrid-kind-of-co-operative game?

Cienden 06-01-2004 11:14 PM

OOC: That could work probably. It's how my first PnP campaign was run as there where just three of us playing.

Do you know if MoldyOldie was making this as his own prepared adventure or a published one?

What about asking for some volunteers/victims for more players from the general forum? Or is that not allowed...?

Bozos of Bones 06-02-2004 01:17 PM

OOC: I think that's allowed as long as we play here. So yes, we could invite some people over. I think it's his own adventure, and we both have enough info and creativity to vontinue it.
