What in the name of Vhaerun is going on?!?! I thought this was a nice topic on Kobolds, not a beat 'em up salon!
And no, you are not getting any more flamethrowers unless you order them and pay for them! |
you are the one who started the craze DS
|
What? What did I do? I was cahllanged to kill that guy, and now it's turned into a full scale war! I never wanted this! By the Oloth, what have I done?
|
Nowdays, it seems perfectly acceptable to love, then hate, then eat your kobold. In the spirit of egalitarianism, I would suggest that this is admissible behaviour for species other than kobolds too. Now there's a thought...
EDIT: A big helooo to all the people I do know here, and another big helooo to all those that I don't. Yet. [ 11-04-2003, 07:31 AM: Message edited by: Lord Brass ] |
Hiya Lord Brass! I know you, right? Were you for or against Kobolds being liked? I can't remember. Anyway, Hello!

If you recall correctly, I am both for, and against Kobold Integration (K.I.) as proposed by the inestimable Mr. Underhill. |
It would seem that Lord Brass is of two minds.

Things are okay for me Lord Brass, thankyou for asking. Exept this lot keep stealing my flamethrowers and using the wrong end. *shakes head*
How is Mr. Baggins now? I haven't heard from him for ages. [ 11-04-2003, 10:37 AM: Message edited by: Dragonshadow ] |

Welcome back Mr.Brass. |
Thanks for that Sythe.
Brass is back (at least for a limited period) bigger and badder than ever. Not that I was ever really bad on the boards. At least I don't think so... As for Underhill, I heard from him a couple of weeks ago. He's fine. Busy, but fine. I don't think he's had much time for PC-fraternisation of late. He's in good form though, and was more than happy that his thread is still a hot topic for debate. Speaking of absentees, has anybody heard from Sir Heinrich? He was going to do some work with me on the Sword Coast Proclamation Project, but RL™ got in the way. I haven't bothered with the Constitution since, as most of the hardcore Senate members had bug...disappeared off somewhere. I trust that we're all back on the boards (aside from Underhill) raring to go? As for the duplicity of my previous statement Firestormalpha, it is because I was always in favour of the principle of Kobold Integration (K.I.) but the implementation and timescale seemed sadly lacking to my mind. All I, and the less-rabid memebers of K.A.K. asked for, was due process. We had that process in the Senate, and although there wasn't any real voting, the notion was deemed to have passed, and so Underhill's little scheme went ahead. The fact that it ended badly was nothing to do with K.A.K. and I was as perplexed as the next sentient that the shame-faced attack on Area 51 had taken place. I hope that reinvigorates not only the debate et al, but also the investigation into the perpetrators of the heinous carnage witnessed by Underhill and his staff. Would I be wrong in assuming that no one was caught in the end? EDIT: Is Keraptisdm still on this board, or does he hang out over at BG2 these days? Sir Heinrich? I hate to ask, but do I know him? I don't think I do...
Glad to know that Mr. Baggins is okay, I'd hate to think he got killed in some of the attacks. BTW, where is are 51? Have I attacked it? EDIT Removed sig. [ 11-05-2003, 10:36 AM: Message edited by: Dragonshadow ] |

Well, I guess the entire slaughter-the-kobold-race is down on its ass. None of you have the right marketingmix to get this show on the road! Well at least I got my workout just like that. Serves them right not to mess with big-red-dragon-guy!! |

Whether Kobold Integration could have been the beginnings of a whole new Faerûn can only remain within the realms of speculation. I feel it would take an extraordinary character such as Underhill himself to re-examine the (entire) prospect of racial equality amongst the peoples of the Sword Coast. Unfortunately, the whole experience of Area 51 has forced Underhill into self-imposed exile. Unless some other champion of the non-human races can be found, I feel that K.I. is as dead as Zuvio has commented above. |
Have I attacked area 51 or not? I can't really remember.
And this looks like the end of KAK. |

If you feed a troll kobolds, should you then eat the troll?! |
ERm... I don't think that's a good idea... Trolls don't taste nice.
|
How would you know? Ever took a bite?
|
You never know... :D
But they look all... icky. And I doubt they taste like chicken. |

If you feed a troll chicken, will it taste like chicken when you eat it? Sorry for all the inqueries, but I'm doing my master thesis on trolls and their eating habits in a controlled invironment with pictures of curtis lee all over the walls.... |
If you feed a pig mud, does it taste like mud when you eat it?
I very musch doubt it. |
I don't think pigs actually *eat* mud, Dragonshadow.
|
Anything is ediable if you try hard enough, my friend.
|
Link I don't think DS was talking about pigs eating mud as a matter of habit. :D Doesn't mean you can force feed em though.
|
No one is EVER going to make up their minds about the koblods, aren't they?

it seems like, to the end of time, there shall be debates on kobolds... *sigh*

And all the while the little buggers keep harassing us whenever we start playing BG again, ITS NOT FAIR!!!! :( |
maybe someone should conclude this with a (probably quite large) summary about the flaws and good points about kobolds and give a nice round up. After all, this topic must be close to 1000 posts now!
|
Ross, if you mean this thread and the other three (or was it two?) totalled up. Eehh I'd say pretty close to 1000, but not quite.
At any rate the senate declared the kobold as a food source. (If you really want to eat them.) There have been some workable recipes developed. And all attempts at Kobold's World Konquest have been put down efficiently with no casualties to those of a non-food group disposition :D . |
Weren't we going to talk about Xvarts?
|
we were, but is it really worth it??
|
We're still waiting to hear back from Legolas on that, but really do we need another 900+ posts consisting of anything from page and a half long dissertations to one liner ? All for larger than average, ugly smurfs?
|
well Im gona say no on that one!

You're a smurf, be at peace with that! At least we won't eat you |
KOBOLDS: THE GOOD POINTS
They provide us with flame arrows a good discussion topic fun for all the family target practice burgers beanbags and evil pets/gaurd things KOBOLDS: THE BAD POINTS They have flame arrows They are annoying They use us for target practice They taste awful IMHO They squeak Dr. DS has come to the following conclusion: The kobold population must be kept down, through being eaten and shot, so that they don't destroy humans/elves/other decent races. However, we must not completly kill them, otherwise what would we laugh at? Squeaky reptiles are funny. However, eating them in burgers is not advisable, you don't know where they've been. They are good at warding off burglars, because whhile they try to make contact with them, you can blow their heads off. And they breed like flys, so you can always get another one. As for Xvarts, I met one of them the other day, stupid blue smurf... [ 11-16-2003, 05:05 AM: Message edited by: Dragonshadow ] |
that is actually a very good summary, I thought a good one would be much longer but that one comes out well. Maybe a bit less sarcasm in the good/bad points might be a bit better, but apart from that....
For anyone who still thinks we should have more discussion Il put the links up to the other two posts and maybe then they'l change their mind! The first one And the second! |
