LOL! No Sir G, it's a 12 pound one but it is frozen SOLID...so it will take at least 3 days to thaw out enough to prep and cook.

HA, HEYA Horatio! No, don't need to blimp up...Lord knows we've already blimped too far as it is! :D But we'll still be eating pretty well on the Turkey day! Turkey, stuffing, roasted potatoes, carrots...pumpkin pie to name a few things!

Oh.. shows you how often I cook turkeys. ;) I would have just thrown it on the counter maybe the night before.

That's DEFINITELY not the health-conscious way to do it, Sir D...after all, poultry has a certain affinity for germs, and if parts of it are at room temperature (like the outside), then...ick

Cloudbringer 11-22-2005 10:53 AM

Yah, what Ilander said... salmonella factories if you leave 'em out on the counter, Sir G!

Plus my cats would have looooooooooved that... yuk, that'd be a mess I wouldn't want to clean up!

Argh.. my co-worker is out today (she is mad she couldn't take tomorrow off so she's 'sick' today... ) and she managed to fill the copier too full so now it won't work, despite my taking paper out and unjamming it repeatedly so I'm waiting for the technician to get here. And the co-worker managed yet again to fill the fax machine too full which screwed that up too... oh I just love my office today... sigh

Wow Cloudy, that co-worker seems very "full" of herself. ba da bum!

Ahem, bad jokes aside I applied for a job yesterday! It's at Tesco, which is about 5 minutes walk down the road. Although lacking the experience they did say they would take on Christmas staff, so I got an application form and handed it in. I've had one "job" in the past, a paperboy for 2+ years, and also work experience.

If I get it that'll mean I have an income again. And just in time for the Xbox 360's release - I'll get some games for it (assuming I get it on Christmas, like it should be here by).

All in all, go me :D

Cloudbringer 11-22-2005 02:06 PM

*groans at the joke* :D

I hope you get the job, Ivellis! Working as additional help at Christmas is a good way to get some experience under your belt and then when you apply for future jobs, you'll have one on your resume already, plus you can use them as a reference, providing you do a good job and they like you! :D

Ack, I live in the Frozen North...it's SNOWING out! I am NOT dreaming of a white Turkey Day, thank you very much! eef!

It's supposed to snow up here on Thursday night/Friday. I hope it does, I'm off school on Friday!

Plus it's already colder than it should ever be in England, the fun of snow will even out the terrible cold.

Hey Cloudy, you're not alone. I'm up here in Maine, woke up this morning wondering, "did I leave a window open? Why is it so cold?." Yeah, looks like we're gonna get a couple of inches. I'm not going out there with all the ice that's probably formed after last night's rain. The one thought that's drilling into my head is, "Why didn't this happen on a school day?!"
