but you know what? everytime i am out, alone, hurt or whatever, i feel so much inner peace in me... no matter what... let's say, a party by the shore, you got hosed by some bully right? you go out, you cry, and for me, i feel so much joy and happiness... the view, the moment, the sentimentality. that is why i want to share it with someone... the problem is is that people just think shallowy? nowadays and they would never get what im talking about... http://www.tgeweb.com/ironworks/cgi-...iles/frown.gif

Thank you for the opportunity 'o tapless one'.

Jubblies: A block of fruit flavoured ice in a (help) shape that you sucked until it disappeared.

Spangles. A much love kind of sweets (candy) which came in various flavours and just disappeared from the face of the earth.

TISWAS. A ground breaking Saturday morning television programme for children (I was 25 at the time). It stood for This Is Saturday Wear A Smile. This programme defies explaination, it was a very British thing, I remember: Spit the Dog, Koff the Cat, Houdi Elbow (as against Houdini), Lenny Henry, Chris Tarrant, Sally James (hubba hubba), The Bucket of Water Song, The Phantom Flan Flinger, Compost Corner and Trevor McDoughnut (perhaps a distant relative of mine). Total mayhem and madness.

Butlins was a group of holiday camps which provided cheap family holidays.

Richard Digance is a comedy singer who makes a living singing and talking about this type of nostalgia. His favourite subject is Spangles,

My favourite was 'hopping' which disappeared at the beginning of the sixties. Poor families from the East End of LOndon would spend two weeks in Kent picking hops which were then turned into beer. They were given free board and accomodation in return for the work. It was the only chance that the children had to get a holiday.

Bumping for nostalgia.
And Z did say to bump old threads once, didn't he? LOL

Anyone remember Romper Room and Captain Kangaroo?
I remember the little cardboard 'cars' the kids walked around in on Romper Room.

How about the old Superman television show. Black and white! Or the Green Hornet? Almost nobody I know remembers that one!
