Nope, nothing to look forward at in the weekend as saturdaynight I have to work again :D |
Good morning, all. A bright and blue morning, one or two of Cloudy's little pals hanging around, 60 degrees with a slight breeze. Ugh, time to start thinking about the weekend's chores. Galadria has tha look in her eye that says it's time to trim the bushes.

Well, I'm off duty calls. Guy burned himself. :(

Now the rain from the last week has stopped and the sun is shining you should see how long the grass in my lawn is Any volunteers to mow? |
Well, he got second-degree burns of his right hand and arm, and I didn't see any areas of third-degree, so I feel he will be all right. Yeah, my yard is beginning to grow - weeds, only, for now - and I had a guy over yesterday afternoon to give me an estimate.

Just remember: Apost a day means I'm not away. :D |
LOL, thanks, antryg. I think that is a very accurate estimate. Well, it looks like another warm one here in Texas. High of 72 today. Shorts and t-shirt weather. The darn wasps are waking up, though torpid. Poor Galadria got stung by one last night.

OUCH! That's nasty, I hate wasp stings - hope Galadria feels better soon, they can hurt for days. :(
The weather here is beautiful - I can't believe this is the fourth day of sun we've had, that would be miraculous enough in August, let alone March! I'm decorating furiously - my new flatmate moves in tonight and I spent yesterday shifting my bookcases, desk and PC out of what will be his room into the painted end of the sitting room, and most of today so far washing the remaining unpainted walls with sugarsoap ready for painting. I have a little bit of rewiring to do in the kitchen - I have a dodgy cooker socket which needs to be replaced. The rest of the kitchen will have to wait until I have some money - the tiles are cracked and falling off, the formica counters are horrible, and I don't have enough cupboard space - but I can't afford to do anything about that right now. I have however chosen freestanding units and counters (white, very modern/60s retro) for when I can afford them, and am thinking about stainless steel splashbacks to replace the tiles. Just wondering about kitchen flooring - I currently have carpet tiles in there which are disgusting (carpets and cooking - not a good combination!) I would love to be able to have proper linoleum (I don't mean that horrid plasticky vinyl flooring which tends to get called lino - I'm talking proper lino made from linseed, which looks very good and is hardwearing) or possibly some sort of wood. Not that I can afford it now, but no harm in having a wishlist, eh? |
I shall convey your sympathy to Galadria, Epona. It was in the middle of the night, and we didn't have any meat tenderiser to put on it, so we used some of my old pipe-tobacco (really old - I haven't smoked in six years!) to put on it, which seemed to help. We have vinyl flooring in our kitchen, with little area rugs that Galadria launders every week. Sauteeing seems particularly bad for them, and flouring.

Hello? is anyone still here? It seems like the cafe is empty today.
At my school, we don't have any extra days in case of snow, so if it snows, we have make up days. This year there have been so many that I had to go to school on saturday, and another saturday sometime in april is now a make up day. They took two days out of spring break, and all of the teacher workdays. We had around 30 days in 3rd quarter, so we will have around a 60-day 4th quarter. |
