Lord Shield 07-19-2001 07:50 AM

Melusine has mucho talent, that is certain http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...iles/smile.gifhttp://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...iles/smile.gif

Haven't got a scanner myself, but want to get back into my drawing frame of mind. Popping round Mum's on Saturday so may be able to track old pictures. All I have in my flat are old drafts I haven't put in proper pics yet

That pic of Tintagel was gorgeous. The colors are wonderful. Someday I may actually get to Scotland, England and Ireland. But for now it's just a dream.
These pictures are as close as I may come. I have a few pics, scanned from post cards a friends son purchased while there. One I use for wallpaper at this time.
Perhaps I should post it.
The caligraphy you posted is lovely and not "sh***y" at all. I think you are to hard on yourself. I have tried to draw knotwork on several occasions and failed miserably. Yours are very cool. Now....Post some more...http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...es/biggrin.gif

Wulfere thanks!! http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...es/FRblush.gif
I could send more holiday pics of Ireland and England to you or just post them on Stealthy's if you'd like that...would have to scan them first though, I don't have a scanner at home so that would take a while... But I really feel for you, I live in Holland, so for me it's just a short distance, and it must be terrible for you not to be able to visit these beautiful countries because the journey would be so long and expensive! http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...iles/frown.gif I hope the pictures give you a taste of what the countries are like though http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...iles/smile.gif
I also just finished Memny's birthday card and actually I think it turned out pretty well http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...iles/smile.gif so you see I'm not always that depreciative of my drawing, only when it deserves it http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...es/biggrin.gif I will scan that one as well before I send it to him...

I know the feeling Lord Shield. I haven't actually drawn much in the last 7 years. It seems that I haven't the time to do it. I always seem to be on the run. I haven't tried painting a landscape in years either. Not that I was ever really good at it, but I did enjoy it. I actually dropped alot of my hobbies in order to please my wife. But in the end she hit me with the big "D" anyway.
Now I just can't seem to get back to them. There seems to be something missing now that I don't draw or paint. But, I just can't get back to it.
I am looking foreward to your posting on Stealthy's site. I do check there at least twice a week to see if there is anything new. I had checked last evening, but apparently before Mel posted her new stuff.

Thanks Melusine. I would appreciate that alot. I have some family, two aunts, buried in Leven, county Fife, Scotland. Actually have some relatives living in my grandmothers old house there. It is a dream to go...but as you said terribly expensive. My e-mail addy is in my profile if you want to send them. Thank you again. I am going to post that pic of stonehenge I use for wallpaper.

That's terrible Wulfere http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...iles/frown.gifhttp://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...iles/frown.gif
I hate to see that happen (people giving up hobbies to please partners)...I've seen it happen with friends and it's BAD http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...iles/frown.gif
Just pick up that brush again, it is such a great hobby!! And it doesn't even matter if you're any good - I am not good at it myself (believe me, not fishing for compliments...just compare my clumsy attempts to REAL calligraphy) but I still enjoy it immensely! It's so relaxing http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...iles/smile.gif... I have been pretty ill for some time now and even when I don't feel up to anything, I can still do calligraphy....
I hope you'll get back to painting Wulfere, just try it, it will come back to you in a while, I just know it http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...iles/smile.gif

Take care! And post some of your drawings ASAP, OK?

That goes for you too Shieldy babe... you promised!! *pout*

BTW, Wah, if you do want to do a drawing with me in it and need themes, I am known as the Templeton Peck of our team at work (He was Face in the A-Team), also called the Magician by some of the Developers. My faves are Kung Fu/Aikido and being narcissistic http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...es/biggrin.gifhttp://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...es/biggrin.gifhttp://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...es/biggrin.gif

I wasn't aware you were struggling with an illness Melusine. I pray you beat it soon and thank you for the kind words. But I have to run off to work so I can sweat 5 or so pounds off in the heat. http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...iles/frown.gif
I may not be about for the next few days as I am running some senarios at a small con in Lincoln.http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...iles/smile.gif
See you all soon. Take Care and Gawd Bless.
