Heh.. Maniac is one of my favorite characters. He has some great lines :D

(Maniac to Hawk - after a rude awakening)
"My own squad.. after all those years. I can't believe it."
"So, you want to be in command?"
"Yeah!"

"You want to be the guy they string up when your squad blows the pooch on a mission?"

Maniac is funny in later series, but he is a huge pain in the butt in WC I and WC II. In fact in WC I, I usually send him back to base while I battle alone because he just gets in the way.

His flying skill is improved in WC II but his lines aren't too funny and his cartoon looked silly.

I like the part where Blair play him like a fool in the opening FMV in WC4.
Blair said to Maniac, "If I tell you, I will have to kill you" and pats him in the back. Maniac stood there stunned and speechless.

Also, the ending FMV in WC4. As blair flew off in the space, Maniac was trying to strike a conversation with Paladin. Paladin said, "Maniac... just shut up."
